JCD Homecoming royalty crowned

Gene Flint and Courtney Vollmer were crowned the 2004-2005 Homecoming King and Queen on Friday, December 17, between the varsity and reserve basketball game. The two were voted on by their classmates to receive the titles. Flint is the son of Gene Sr. and Paula Flint and Vollmer is the daughter of John and Pam Vollmer.

Recount begins in Ripley County

Ripley County Clerk Ginger Bradford, standing, was on hand Monday morning as the recount for the Baron Hill/Mike Sodrel race began in Ripley County. Ten teams of two each were brought in from the State Board of Accounts to begin the process that took place at the Versailles State Park recreation hall. Heather Willis, recount director, noted that the recounting of the over 12,000 votes from Ripley County might be completed yet Monday evening, December 6. Information on the outcome of the recount will be published in Thursday's edition of The Versailles Republican.
