Candidates in place for Primary Election

The race is on! There are seven Republicans vying
for the Ripley County Council At Large seats in the Primary
Election. They are Juanita Bauer, Mark Busching, Donald Dunbar,
Lee Mathews Jr., Joe Menchhofer, Benjamin Peetz and Bernard
Sieverding. The three highest vote getters go on to the fall
election. The three Democrats will automatically move forward:
Harland Delap, Raymond Doane, and Ray Raney.
There is also a contest on the two County Commissioner
seats up for election. In District 2 there are four Republicans
running
and only one goes on to the fall ballot: Charles Folz, Daniel
Meisberger, Richard Smith, and William Warren. The lone Democrat
running, Timothy Howder, automatically moves on.
In the District 3 County Commissioner's race there are two
Republicans and two Democrats running. Republicans are John
Little and Lawrence Nickell. Democrats are Charles Cook and
Timothy Taylor. Only one from each party will move forward
to the fall election.
The four Republicans running for county offices are unopposed:
County Clerk, Ginger Bradford; County Coroner, Robert Eric Karsteter; County
Recorder, Tammy Borgman and County Treasurer, Earlene Copeland. There are
no Democrats running for these offices in the Primary Election.
Two school boards will elect board members in the Primary
Election. Three men vying for the Jac-Cen-Del School Board
At Large seat:
Jonathan Brison, Paul C. Hardy and Timothy Wolff. Charles Hughes is the only
one running for the Town of Osgood seat.
Milan has two school board members running unopposed: David
Voss for the At Large position and Edward Amberger for the
Town of Milan.
The Primary Election will take place on Tuesday, May 4.
