RCCF Small Project Grants make impact
Ripley County Community Foundation has announced
the first round of small project grants awarded for 2004. Those
receiving grants that are limited to less than $500 each are
the Sunman Chamber of Commerce for fireworks for their 2004
Wine & Fireworks Festival - $500; the Town of Holton for
public safety equipment - $500; and the Southeastern Indiana
YMCA Childcare for hepatitis B immunizations for their staff
- $495.
May 1, is the deadline for the next round of small project
grants for the RCCF. Applications will be accepted anytime
during the year but if they do not arrive by the deadline,
they will be held for the next round. Maximum grants are $500
and must follow normal granting guidelines of the foundation.
Non-profit organizations may apply for one small project grant
per year, but may also apply for the Foundation's regular granting
in September.
Small project grants are considered in March, May, July, and
September of a granting year. The first of each month is the
deadline. Applications will be available in the Batesville
Library, Milan Library, Osgood Library, Tyson Library and the
Sunman Town Hall, or by calling the Foundation office. Any
questions concerning the grant process can be directed to Jane
Deiwert, Program Officer, or Sally Morris, Executive Director
of the Foundation. Phone 877-234-5220 or 933-1098 or e-mail
rccfound@nalu.net.
In addition to the $10,000 set aside for small project grants
this year, the Foundation will have available $109,000 for
regular granting in September. This is the largest amount ever
available from the Foundation for Community Granting. The Foundation's
Community Granting Fund increased greatly in the last Lilly
Endowment Challenge Grant so that the Foundation is able to
grant more money to the community.
