Sheldon Grossman

Doris Marie Sheldon Grossman, 72, of Milan, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at Ripley Crossing Care Center in Milan. She was born October 25, 1931 in Milan the daughter of Omer and Mary Evelyn (Albright) Sheldon, both deceased. She married Calvin C. Grossman on June 24, 1950 and he preceded her in death on August 20, 1977.
Survivors include one son, Thomas Elsworth (wife Bonnie) Grossman of Bowling Brook, IL, two daughters, Sharon Grossman of Coshocton, OH, Constance Grossman of Trenton, OH, one brother, James Sheldon of Freemont, OH, three sisters, Virginia Diesenroth of Freemont, OH, Audrey Emery of Dillsboro, Dora Jean Vinup of Milan, four grandchildren and two great sons-in-laws. She was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Burris.
Mrs. Grossman was a bookkeeper and a statistician for Mead Paper Co. and Elder Beerman Dept. Stores both in Dayton, OH. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, was a Patient Representative and the 2004 Valentine Queen at Ripley Crossing Care Center in Milan.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 27, 1:30 p.m. at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan with Rev. Harris Long and Brother Chet Evans officiating.
Burial was in the Craven Cemetery in Milan. Memorials may go to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.

Elizabeth Mae
" Betsy" Kuntz

Elizabeth Mae "Betsy" Kuntz, infant daughter of John and Mary Jo Kuntz of Batesville, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at St. Vincent Hospital's Family Life Center in Indianapolis at the age of 4 weeks. She was born February 21, 2004 in Indianapolis.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by maternal grandparents Bruce and Eileen Dickman Sr. of Batesville, paternal grandfather Robert Kuntz of Brookville and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Colleen Kuntz.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 27, 10 a.m. at St. Louis Church with Rev. Daniel Mahan officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery. Memorials may go to the St. Vincent Hospital's Newborn ICU.

Blanche R. Copeland
Blanche R. Copeland, 65, of Madison, passed away Saturday, March 27, 2004 at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison. She was born at Harrison, Ohio on February 23, 1939 the daughter of Benjamin and Pearl Mae Huneycutt Ballard. She was married to Francis Copeland on July 13, 1957 and he preceded her in death on May 30, 2001.
Mrs. Copeland was a homemaker and a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Madison.
She is survived by one son, Jerry Copeland of Merritt Island, FL, three daughters, Diane Greene and husband Jeff of Henryville, Denise Hester and Michael of Gadsden, AL, Debbie Greer and Paul of Madison, eight grandchildren, five sisters, Eva Mae Doerflein of Connersville, Bertha Edwards of North Bend, Dorothy Smith of Cincinnati, OH, Delores DeNardis of Daytona, FL, Myrtle Weiskittel of Palm Coast, FL, three brothers, Jack Ballard of Greendale, Robert Ballard of Michigan City and Wilbur Ballard of Palm Coast, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, March 30, 12 p.m. at the Cross Plains United Methodist Church with Rev. Joel Almaroad of the Grace Baptist Church officiating.
Burial will be in the Cross Plains United Methodist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the cemetery. Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home, Versailles, is in charge of the arrangements.

Dale M. Pickett
Dale M. Pickett, 64, of Milford, NH, died Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua, NH. He was born in Holton on October 24, 1939 the son of the late Luther and Emma (Ensminger) Pickett.
He had been a resident of Mont Vernon, NH for 20 years and also resided in Milford for 10 years. He was employed by BAE Systems, Nashua, NH for 39 years and more recently had worked as a configuration manager. He was also a member of Our Lady of Snows, Munsonville, NH and had served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956-1961.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Jeanne (Campbell) Pickett of Milford, NH, five sons and daughters-in-law, Steve D. and Peg Pickett of Merrimack, NH, Mark D. Pickett of Mont Vernon, NH, Brian D. Pickett and Larry D. and Jill Pickett all of Milford, NH, Greg D. and Olivia Pickett of Milwaukee, WI, one daughter, Deborah J. Pickett of New Boston, NH, eight grandchildren, one brother, Everett Pickett of Louisville, KY, one sister, Gay White of Versailles and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Christopher D. Pickett.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, March 29, 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church in Milford. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery in Milford.

Sandra K. Jones
Sandra K. Jones, 58, of Sunman, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at her residence. She was born January 18, 1946 in Indianapolis the daughter of Leona McGinnis Jones and Merle D. "Nick" Jones. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her mother, Leona M. Jones of Sunman, one daughter and son-in-law, Kelli and Sgt. First Class Richard Mitchell of Ft. Bragg, NC, one son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Julie A. Kern of Sunman, two sisters, Darlene Dugan of Ninovah, Rose Hyde of Franklin and three grandchildren, Indy, Kitley and Shelby. She was preceded in death by her father, one sister, Patricia David and one brother, Nicholas Jones.
Memorial services were held Saturday, March 27, 5 p.m. at the Kern residence in Sunman.

Sr. Mirella Heile, O.S.F.
Sr. Mirella Heile, O.S.F., 96, of Oldenburg, died Saturday, March 27, 2004 at the Srs. of St. Francis Convent of Oldenburg. She was born January 11, 1908 in Covington, KY the daughter of August A. Heile and Elizabeth (Frilling) Heile, both deceased.
Survivors include one niece, Jeannete Crawford of Covington, KY and seven close friends, Pat Dean, Jim Dean, Joe Dean, John Dean, Sue Clayton, Mary Knoll and Amy Liles, all of Kentucky.
Sr. Heile entered the convent of April 5, 1926 and she made her final vows on December 30, 1931. She was a teacher and principal at various schools in Ohio, Indiana and Missouri. She retired to the Motherhouse in 1981.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 29, 3 p.m. at the Srs. of St. Francis Motherhouse Chapel with Rev. Humbert Moster, O.F.M. officiating.
Burial was in the St. Francis Cemetery. Memorials may go to the Srs. of St. Francis, P.O. Box 100, Oldenburg, IN 47036.

Judy Ann Thornton
Judy Ann Thornton, 52, of Madison, died Thursday, March 18, 2004 at the Waters of Clifty Falls, Madison. She was born November 14, 1951 in Batesville, the daughter of Durlin Harrison and Pauline J. Farrell.
Survivors include her mother Pauline J. Brandon of Madison, one daughter, Bonnie McGaughey and husband Rob of Dupont, one son, Curtis Thornton and wife Kim of Muncie, one sister, Bonnie Hopper and husband Gary of Madison, one brother, Kenneth Harrison and wife Kathy of Columbia, SC, four grandsons and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Durlin Harrison and stepfather, George Lee Brandon.
Mrs. Thornton was a former Madison US Shoe employee and a member of the First Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 20 at Vail-Holt Funeral Home, Madison Chapel with Pastor Randy Crutchfield officiating. Burial was in the Grandview Memorial Gardens, Madison.

H. Lanvermeyer

Reynold H. Lanvermeyer, 86, of Dillsboro, died Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at University Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. He was born February 24, 1918 in Dillsboro the son of Herman Lanvermeyer and Alma Knigga, both deceased. He married Romana N. Lanvermeyer and she survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Vicky Luhrsen of Sun City West, AZ, Jascia Robinson of Dillsboro, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Ann (Miller) Lanvermeyer.
Mr. Lanvermeyer was president and part owner of Dearborn Mills and worked there for 50 years. He was also a 1935 graduate of Dillsboro High School, a member of the 50 Plus Club, a member and former president of the congregation of Trinity Lutheran Church, a member and former fire chief of the Dillsboro Volunteer Fire Department, a charter member of Dillsboro Emergency Unit, a member and district director of AARP, a charter member of Dillsboro 50 Plus, a member of Dearborn County Republican Men's Club and a member of the Dillsboro VFW. He had also served in WWII in the Army.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 20, 11 a.m. at Ulrich Filter Funeral Home in Dillsboro.
Burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery in Dillsboro with military graveside rites conducted by the Northcutt Laaker American Legion Post #292. Memorials may go to the Dillsboro Emergency Unit.

Gerald A. Bruce
Gerald A. Bruce, 68, of Milan, formerly of Aurora, died Wednesday, March 17, 2004 at his residence. He was born November 12, 1935 in Milan the son of Elvin L. and Myrtle (Hall) Bruce, both deceased.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Bruce of Vevay, one daughter, Landra Boley of Madison, two sisters, Elverna Murray of Cincinnati, OH, Nadine Myer of Aurora and two grandchildren.
Mr. Bruce was retired from Metal Plating Manufacturing Co. in Connersville. He was a member of the Mt. Sinai Methodist Church, the National Rifle Association, North American Hunters Club and the Everton Conversation Club.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 20, 1 p.m. at Sibbett-Moore Funeral Home in Moores Hill with Pastor Jerry Holiday officiating.
Burial was in the Mt. Sinai Cemetery. Memorials may go to the Mt. Sinai Methodist Church.

John J. Alexander
John J. Alexander, 92, of San Jose, CA, died Thursday, March 17, 2004 at Lincoln Glen Manor in San Jose, CA. He was born November 11, 1914 in Osgood the son of Edgar Alexander and Julia Besona Alexander. He was married to Virginia Winifred Carr on March 30, 1942 and she preceded him in death in June 1965.
Survivors include one son, Lou (Jackee) Alexander of San Jose, CA, one daughter, Tillie (Bruce) Carpenter of Bloomfield, CO, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Agnes Alexander.
Mr. Alexander operated an electrical contracting business in Osgood in the 1950s, then later worked for the Decatur County REMC in Greensburg and retired from the Anderson Municipal Power and Light Co in 1983. He and his wife owned Alexander's News and Variety Store on Main Street in Greensburg in the early 1960s. He was a veteran of WWII, serving as a master sergeant with the Army construction corps in the Pacific Theater and a graduate of Coyne American Institute in Chicago in 1941.
Mr. Alexander was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Osgood, St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greensburg, St. Mary's Catholic Church, Anderson and St. Christopher's Church, San Jose.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 26, 10 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, Osgood with Rev. Darvin Winters, officiating. Burial will be in the Greendale Cemetery, Osgood. Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home, Greensburg is in charge of the arrangements.

Maude A. Eaglin
Maude A. Eaglin, 83, of Moores Hill, died Sunday, March 21, 2004 at her residence. She was born May 2, 1920 in Dillsboro the daughter of Willard and Nora (Abbot) Stalder, both deceased. She married Raymond C. Eaglin on October 15, 1938 and he preceded her in death on August 14, 1996.
Survivors include two sons, Gary Eaglin and wife Sharon of Lawrenceburg, Lonnie Eaglin and wife Cathy of Lawrenceburg, one daughter, Karen Gray and husband Paul of Carlisle, four grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Three sisters and one brother preceded her in death.
Mrs. Eaglin was a homemaker and a former cook at the Moores Hill schools.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 26, 5-8 p.m. at Sibbett-Moore Funeral Home, Moores Hill. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 27 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Debby Allen officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery, Moores Hill.

Ronald D. Campbell
Ronald D. Campbell, 38, of Aurora, died Monday, March 8, 2004 at University Hospital, Cincinnati. He was born August 10, 1965 in Cincinnati the son of Ronnie Miles and Donna Minges Miles and they survive. He was a painter.
Other survivors include one son Eric Littleton of San Bernadino, CA, one brother, Frederick Campbell of Cincinnati, one sister Ronda Newkirk of Aurora, maternal grandparents, Frederick and Beatrice Minges, two nieces, Tasha Campbell and Allissa Campbell and two nephews, Justin and Brandon Newkirk.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 15 at 1 p.m. at the Filter Funeral Home, Aurora. Burial was in the Riverview Cemetery, Aurora. Memorials may be made to the family.

Ralph Campbell
Ralph Campbell, 91, of Oldenburg, died Saturday, March 13 at the Waters of Batesville. He was born November 18, 1912 in Manchester, KY the son of Huey and Eliza Mobley Campbell. He married Neva Ellis and she survives and is the minister of the Bibleway Church of God in Oldenburg.
Other survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph and Marie Campbell, Jr., of Smyrna, TN, Bill and Nancy Campbell of Oldenburg, one foster son, Brian Kinman of Madison Heights, MI, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Della Clayton and three brothers, Clarence, Roscoe and Arden Campbell.
Mr. Campbell was a retired employee of Edwards Manufacturing, Cincinnati and worked at Star Bank in Cincinnati. He was a member of the Bibleway Church of God in Oldenburg.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, March 16 from 4-8 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, Brookville. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 17 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Lonnie Gable officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville.

Clarence L. "Rusty" Mathews
Clarence L. "Rusty" Mathews, 72, of Cross Plains, died Saturday, March 13, 2004 at King's Daughters' Hospital, Madison. He was born June 3, 1931 in Cross Plains, the son of Bryan Mathews and Mary (Laswell) Mathews, both deceased.
Survivors include two brothers, Paul and wife Clarica Mathews and Robert Mathews all of Cross Plains, two sisters, Nancy Brown and Janice and husband Charles Cook all of Cross Plains, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Mr. Mathews was retired from Reliance Electric Company, Madison. He was a member of the Cross Plains Methodist Church, the Versailles American Legion Post #173, the Madison VFW Post #1969 and was a veteran of the Korean War.
Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, March 20 at 11:30 a.m. at the Cross Plains Methodist Cemetery. Military gravesite services will be conducted by the Versailles American Legion Post #173.

Charles I. Givan
Charles I. "Bud" Givan, 81, of Lawrenceburg, died Wednesday, March 10, 2004 at the Waters of Dillsboro. He was born August 18, 1922 in Dearborn County the son of Clyde Irving and Arah Beatrice (Voshell) Givan.
Survivors include one son, Randy Givan of Milan, one daughter, Connie and husband Glenn McMullen of Union, KY, special friend, Janet, one brother, Larry Given of Lawrenceburg, nine grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Larry Lee Givan, one brother, Philip Givan and one sister, Lois Martin.
Mr. Givan was a WWII Army Air Corp veteran and a member of Sparta Baptist Church, the VFW, American Legion, Faternal Order of Eagles, the Masonic Lodge and the 483 Bomb Group.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 13 at 11 a.m. at Sibbett-Moore Funeral Home, Moores Hill with Rev. Frank Fortham, Jr., officiating. Burial was in Mt. Sinai Cemetery with military graveside services conducted by the Aurora F&AM and the Moores Hill American Legion.

Jesse H. Knollman
Jesse H. Knollman, 90, of Dillsboro, died Friday, March 5, 2004 at the Waters of Ross Manor. He was born April 24, 1913 in Aurora, the son of William and Anna Rullman Knollman, both deceased. He married Velma C. Pieper and she preceded him in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Carol Bressert of Dillsboro, two sons, Melvin Knollman and Elvin Knollman both of Dillsboro, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Fisse and Alma Benning.
Mr. Knollman was retired from Schenley Distillery and farmed and operated a trucking business for 15 years. He was also a truck driver.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 8 at 11 a.m. at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Farmers Retreat. Burial was in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.

Gail Colson
Gail Colson, 57, of Versailles, died Thursday, March 11, 2004 at Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati She was born August 9, 1946 in Johnson City, TN the daughter of Ray H. Biddle and Dorothy DeArmond Biddle. She married William C. Colson on December 18, 1965 and he survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Cynthia L. Colson of Kings Park, Long Island, NY, Beth Colson of Scottsdale, AZ, one son, John Colson of Madison, parents Ray H. and Dorothy Biddle of Phoenix, AZ, one sister, Deborah Fitchie of Phoenix, AZ, one brother, David DeArmond of Sevierville, TN, one granddaughter, Kayla Branstetter of Sellersburg, and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Colson was the former office manager of Dr. E. Pawlaks office and was the owner of the former Crystal Goblet in Madison. She recently opened the Tan and Tone in Versailles. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Madison where she served as a Deaconess and Elder and was a past member of the church board.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 14 at 2:30 p.m. at the First Christian Church, Madison with Rev. Timothy Johnson officiating. Burial was in the Good Hope Cemetery, Crab Orchard, KY.

Dylan Bradley Wiles, 2 months, of Moores Hill, died Saturday, March 6, 2004 at Dearborn County Hospital, Lawrenceburg. He was born December 26, 2003 the son of Bradford Wiles and Millie Miller and they survive.
Other survivors include two sisters, Alycia Miller and Shelby Miller both of Moores Hill, grandparents, George and Carol Burton of Moores Hill, Brenda Wiles of Science Hill, Ky., great grandparents, Ebbie Hicks of Richmond, Ky., Vascoe and Lillian Wesley of Bethel Ridge, Ky., and Mary Wiles of Science Hill, Ky.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Latosha Wiles in January 2004.

Arnelda L. Prickel
Arnelda L. Prickel, 69, of Batesville, died Thursday, March 4, 2004 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital. She was born March 24, 1934 in Batesville the daughter of Fred H. Scheele and Olivia Dietz Scheele, both deceased. She married Mark Prickel on October 24, 1953 at St. Louis Catholic Church, Batesville and he survives.
Other survivors include six daughters, Jane Tekulve of Madison, Judy A. Kinker of Greensburg, Brenda Meyer, Nancy Prickel, Mary Jo Reer, Diane Prickel all of Batesville, five sons, Marvin Prickel of Home Glen, Illinois, Mike, Matt, Luke, Donny Prickel all of Batesville, two sisters, Rosemary Prickel and Louella "Lou" Voegele both of Batesville, two brothers, George and Fred S. Scheele both of Batesville, 25 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Mrs. Prickel was a member of St. Anthony's Ladies Society, Daughters of Isabella and the Morris Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Morris and was a homemaker.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 8 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Morris with Msgr. Bernard Schmitz officiating. Burial was in the St. Anthony's Cemetery.

Anna June James Browning
Anna June James Browning, 73, of Zionsville, died Thursday, March 4, 2004 at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. She was born April 12, 1930 in Roselawn, the daughter of Harry James and Ruth Cox James, both deceased. She married Loren H. "Dodie" Browning on May 9, 1974 and he survives.
Other survivors include two step sons, Samual E. Stewart and wife Sally of Madison, Richard D. Browning of Milan, two step daughters, Lucretia M. Lyon and husband Mike of Vevay, Vickie D. McClellan of Warsaw, KY, one sister, Virginia Fertig of Rosston, one niece, Tammy Garland and her daughter Deanna of Rosston, 11 step grandchildren, 16 step great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Reynolds and one daughter-in-law, Velma Rose Browning.
Mrs. Browning was a member of the Rosston Church. She was a graduate of Zionsville High School. She was a former employee of the Friendly Tavern in Zionsville. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 79 in Zionsville and cooked for them for several years.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 8, at 1 p.m. at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, Vevay with Rev. Ronald Sandidge officiating. Burial was in the Vevay Cemetery.

Wanda F. Gibson
Wanda F. Gibson, 66, of Versailles, died Sunday, March 7, 2004 in Versailles. She was born October 14, 1937 in Blue Diamond, KY, the daughter of Malcomb Turner and Nancy Combs Turner, both deceased. She married James F. Gibson on November 10, 1956 in Lawrenceburg and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by daughters, Yvonne Caudill and husband Anthony of Moores Hill, Tina Huckaby and husband Tim of Mt. Orab, OH, Adina Eckstein and husband Larry of Osgood, brother, Harold D. Turner of Indianapolis, sisters, Inez Repasy of Batesville, Joyce Croley of Cincinnati, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Audrey Reed, one brother, Paul Turner and one grandson, Robert (Bobby) Gibson.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 9 from 5-8 p.m. and Wednesday, March 10 from 11 a.m. until the time of service at Bovard-Holt-Furst Funeral Home, Versailles. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 10 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Brother Earl Thomas officiating.
Burial will be in the Shelby Cemetery, Versailles.

Martha M.
" Mart" Prickel

Martha M. "Mart" Prickel, 85, of Batesville, died Thursday, March 4, 2004 at the Waters of Batesville. She was born March 24, 1918 in Morris the daughter of Henry Dierckman and Theresa Merkel Dierckman, both deceased. She married Alanus "Doc" Prickel on October 20, 1962 at St. Paul's Church in New Alsace and he survives.
Other survivors include numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one adopted daughter, Sr. Tessy Alencherry, S.A.B.S., one adopted son, Fr. Anthony Chemmannoor and two brothers, Bernard Dierckman and Carl Dierckman.
Mrs. Prickel worked in the upholstering department at Hill-Rom for 14 years. She was also a member of St. Louis Church, St. Louis Ladies Society and the Knights of St. John's Ladies Auxiliary.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 6, 10 a.m. at St. Louis Church in Batesville with Rev. Daniel Mahan officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery. Memorials may go to the Southeastern Indiana Alzheimer's Support Group or The Waters of Batesville Recreation Fund.

Helen C. Giltner
Helen C. Giltner, 59, of Dupont, died Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at the Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison. She was born May 22, 1944 in Henry County, KY the daughter of Howard Ballard and Hazel Clubb, both deceased.
Survivors include one daughter, Tamara S. Keller of Madison, two sons, Ronnie Giltner of Madison, Michael Giltner of Dupont, her companion, Leon Brierly of Dupont, two sisters, Barbara Mack of Milton, KY, Ann Ballard of North Carolina, three grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Joe Ballard in 1974.
Ms. Giltner was formerly employed at U.S. Shoe in Madison and Vevay. She was also a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church near Canaan.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 5, 11 a.m. at Vail-Holt Funeral Home in Madison with Rev. Troy Hedges officiating.
Burial was in the Grandview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may go to the Waters at Clifty Falls Activity Department.

Mildred R. Nobbe
Mildred R. Nobbe, 74, of Hamburg, died Saturday, March 6, 2004 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital. She was born January 16, 1930 in Franklin County the daughter of Michael Bedel and Frances Cord Bedel, both deceased. She married Aloysius Nobbe on July 4, 1949 at St. Anne's Church and he preceded her in death on December 10, 2003.
She is survived by one daughter, Carol Weberding of Batesville, three sons, David Nobbe of Batesville, Dale Nobbe of Hamburg, Rodger Nobbe of Hamburg, three sisters, Clara Niehoff of Rushville, Irene Merkel of Hamburg, Ester Goss of Connersville, one brother, Albert Bedel of Long Island, NY, ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Mrs. Nobbe worked in the sewing room at Batesville Casket Company for 26 years before retiring in 1992. She was a member of St. Anne's Church and the St. Anne's Ladies Society.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 10 from 4-8 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home, Batesville with rosary services at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 11, 2004 at 10 a.m. at St. Anne's Church, Hamburg with Rev. Gregory Bramlage officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Anne's Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the J. Michael Hansen Oncology Center or St. Anne's Cemetery Fund.

Sr. Sarah Page, O.S.F.
Sr. Sarah Page, O.S.F., 76, of Oldenburg, died Friday, March 5, 2004 at Sisters of St. Francis Convent Infirmary. She was born October 26, 1927 in Indianapolis, the daughter of Horace H. Page and Gertrude Messer Page, both deceased.
She is survived by one cousin, Rita Messer Brooks of Glendale, Missouri.
Sister Page was a teacher having taught at many schools throughout Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, Rhode Island and New Mexico. She entered the convent February 2, 1951 and made her final vows on August 12, 1956. She retired to the Motherhouse in 2002.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, March 9 from 1-3 p.m. at the Sisters of St. Francis Motherhouse Chapel, Oldenburg. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. at the Motherhouse with Fr. Raymar Middendorf officiating. Burial will be in the Sisters of St. Francis Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Sisters of St. Francis, Oldenburg.

Philip Eugene Peters
Philip Eugene Peters, 71, of Osgood, died Thursday, March 4, 2004 at his residence. He was born February 16, 1933 in Milan the son of Philip Clifford and Dorothy Moehring Peters, both deceased. He married Betty Marie Bobb on March 25, 1954 in Lawrenceburg and she survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Terry Gene Peters of Birmingham, AL, Malcolm "Mike" Todd Peters of Osgood, two daughters, LuAnn Peters of Batesville, Amy Beth Stewart of Osgood, one sister, Dirtha McKinley of Milan and two grandchildren.
Mr. Peters was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Memorial graveside services will be held Friday, March 12, 11 a.m. at the Greendale Cemetery in Osgood.

Inez E. Ashcraft
Inez E. Ashcraft, 78, of Converse, formerly of Moores Hill, died Saturday, February 28, 2004 at Americana Health Care in Wabash. She was born February 24, 1926 in Harrison, OH the daughter of Mark R. and Minnie Belle Marie Peno Smith. She married Estel "Red" Ashcraft in May 1945 and he preceded her in death in November 2001.
Survivors include three sons, Roger Dale (Patty) Ashcraft of Florence, Mark William Ashcraft of Osgood, Richard E. (Terrie) Ashcraft of Urbana, five daughters, Linda (Denver) Jackson of Aurora, Pat A. Evans of Converse, Angela G. (David) Moon of Urbana, Brenda L (Mark) Clevenger of Pendleton, Elaine C. McIntosh of Columbus, one sister, Etta Jean Burgen of Spiceland, 19 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Sandra and Sherry Ashcraft, one son, Denver Wayne Ashcraft, one brother, Richard Ashcraft and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Ashcraft was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Anderson and was a former employee of the Milan Health Care Center.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, March 2 from 12 noon until the time of services at 2 p.m. at Laws Carr Moore Funeral Home, Milan.

Margie Dossett

Margaret E. Margie Dossett, 57, of Milan, died Sunday, February 29, 2004 at Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. She was born November 29, 1946 in Warren, PA, the daughter of Robert C. and Betty L. (Wagner) Anderson. She married Norman Rhoades and he preceded her in death in 1965. She later married Robert Bair and then married Roy Dossett who preceded her in death in 2000.
Mrs. Dossett is survived by three sons, Shawn Dossett of Moores Hill, Robert Lewis Bair, Jr. and John Bair both of Phoenix, AZ, one daughter, Darlene Bair of Milan, two brothers, Robert Anderson of Camp Verde, AZ, Larry Anderson of Hemet, CA, one sister, Linda Anderson of Jamestown, NY, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Norman Arthur Rhoades in 1984.
Mrs. Dossett had been a waitress at the Railroad Inn and Reservation Restaurants in Milan.
Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 3, 1 p.m. at the German Lutheran Cemetery north of Milan with Rev. Harris Long officiating. Memorials may be made to the family.

Mildred C. Knigga
Mildred C. Knigga, 92, of Dillsboro, died Sunday, February 29, 2004 at the waters of Dillsboro. She was born November 15, 1911 in Ripley County the daughter of Arthur Knigga and Clara Vinup.
She is survived by three nephews, Kenneth Knigga of Dillsboro, Donald Pabst of Cincinnati, Denny Knigga of Greenwood, one brother, Wilbur Knigga of Dillsboro, one sister, Hazel Knigga Pabst of Cincinnati, one niece, Carol Knigga Lovins of Milan.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Denton Knigga.
Ms Knigga was a farmer.
Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, March 2, 1:00 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Farmers Retreat. Burial will be in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.

Merelyn L. Buck
Merelyn L. Buck, 78, of Batesville, died Wednesday, February 25, 2004 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. She was born November 21, 1925 in Batesville the daughter of Gayle and Helen L. (Schmocker) Dugle, both deceased. She married John R. Buck on January 6, 1947 in Batesville and he preceded her in death on September 9, 1998.
Survivors include two daughters, Michele L. Werner and Jennifer L. Menser, both of Batesville, one son, Thomas P. Buck of Greensburg, one sister, Mary Shafer of New Point, two half sisters, Joann Higgins Schmitt of Indianapolis, Connie Newman of Texas, three half brothers, Gayle Dugle Jr. and Robert Dugle of Greensburg, Donald Dugle of Shelbyville, KY, five grandchildren and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Denver and Paul Dugle, two half sisters, Elizabeth Carol Shafer and Judy Dugle, one half brother, Richard Davis and two step sisters, Doris May Maple and Jean Reed.
Mrs. Buck was a 1944 graduate of Batesville High School and retired from PSI. She was also a member of the Batesville United Methodist Church and Ladies Auxiliary VFW.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 28, 10 a.m. at Batesville United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Marhanka officiating.
Burial was in the Methodist Church Cemetery. Memorials may go to the J. Michael Hansen MD Oncology Center.

Nicholas E. Osier
Nicholas E. Osier, 87, of Batesville, died Saturday, February 28, 2004 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital, Batesville. He was born July 8, 1916 in St. Pius the son of John G. Osier and Elizabeth Cook Osier, both deceased. He married Anne Mae Brinkman Osier on April 15, 1944 at St. Louis Church and she survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Diane Hunteman and Jennifer Meyer both of Batesville, one son, Nicholas J. Osier of Broken Arrow, OK, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Louella Osier and Lauretta Call.
Mr. Osier was an Army veteran of WWII, a member of St. Louis Church, Batesville. He was a furniture finisher with the Romweber Company for 39 years.
Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, March 2 at 10 a.m. at St. Louis Church, Batesville with Rev. Daniel Mahan officiating. Burial will be in the St. Louis Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Ripley County VFW Post 3183 and the Prell Bland American Legion Post 271.
Memorials may be made to the Phi Beta Psi Sorority Cancer Research or Batesville EMS 10 Rescue Squad.

Mildred Catherine Kaiser, 94, of Aurora, died Friday, February 27, 2004 in Aurora. She was born October 18, 1909 in Aurora.
She is survived by three sons, William Kaiser of Milan, Robert Kaiser of Aurora, Thomas Kaiser of New Whiteland, ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She was a homemaker.
Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, March 2 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Aurora with Father Jack Hartzer officiating. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Aurora.
Memorials may be made to the St. Mary's Catholic Church.
