Jac-Cen-Del honors winter high school athletes in annual winter sports banquet

Jac-Cen-Del held their annual winter sports banquet to honor their high school athletes. The banquet was held on Wednesday, March 31 in the high school gym to honor all freshmen through varsity basketball teams and cheerleaders. Each team handed out awards to students who stood out in certain aspects of their game.

Freshman Boys Basketball

Roy Thomas was the coach of this year's boys' freshman basketball team, which finished with a record of 12-4 and were the ORVC Tournament Champions. The team was made up of Jacob Bonnlander, Tucker Brown, Justin Eaton, Tyler Habart, Justin Huff, Daniel Leonetti, Kurt Miller, Rusty Spurlock, Josh Tunny, Andrew Wagner and Andrew Wolff.

The award winners were Andy Wolff- free throw award, Andrew Wagner- scholastic, Daniel Leonetti- most improved, Justin Huff- mental attitude and Tucker Brown- most determined.

Freshman Cheerleaders

This year's freshman cheerleading squad was made up of Leslie Brancamp, Felicia Craig, Paegan Dunsil, Kaitlin Hughes and Megan Jones. Only one award was given to the freshman cheerleaders which was the scholastic award, which was given to Kaitlyn Hughes.

Reserve Girls Basketball

The girls reserve basketball team finished with a record of 8-7 under coach Maurice Meyers. The team was made up
of Courtney Vollmer, Amanda Harmeyer, Jessica Hicks, Emily Einhaus, Talena Huff, Holly Manier, Alisha Richardson, Abby Rohlfing and Erika Simon.

Award winners were Amanda Harmeyer- scholastic, Erika Simon- Co-mental attitude, Alisha Richardson- most improved and Talena Huff- Co-mental attitude and free throw award.

Reserve Boys Basketball

Steve Narwold led the reserve boys' basketball team to an 11-7 record in just his second year as coach. This year's team was made up of Andrew Huntington, Derek Jones, Keith Konradi, Kyle Horan, Craig Horan, Tyler Bradshaw, Bryan Schwanholt, Adam Vollmer, Blake Billman, Marcus Wirth, Grant Gilland and Justin Huff.

This year's award winners were Andrew Huntington- free throw award, Derek Jones- most improved, Kyle Horan- most determined and scholastic and Craig Horan- mental attitude award.

Varsity & Reserve Cheerleaders

Sue Bunselmeier and Cindy Toops were the coaches for this year's reserve and varsity cheerleading squads. The reserve squad was made up of Abby Coyle, Danielle Konradi, Amber Lunsford, Olivia Newhart and Kalenia Simon. The varsity squad was made up of Amy Fry, Leslie Gilland, Lindsey Hardy, Kayla Harmeyer, Lindsay Horan and Abbie White.

The reserve award winners were Amber Lunsford- scholastic and Kalenia Simon- mental attitude. The varsity award
winners were Lindsay Horan- scholastic, Leslie Gilland- mental attitude award and Kayla Harmeyer- outstanding cheerleader.

Varsity Girls Basketball

The varsity girls' basketball team finished the season with an 11-12 overall record and a 4-2 conference record under coach Scott Smith. The Lady Eagles were also crowned as the sectional champs in 2004. This year's team was made up of Ashley Lord, Janelle Hardesty, Alisha Lord, Traci Siebert, Cassidy Krieg, Abby Lauber, Abby Rohlfing, Emily Einhaus, Erika Simon, Amanda Harmeyer, Talena Huff and Courtney Vollmer. Joe Andrews and Lindsey Payne were the managers for this year's team. Two Eagles made the All-Conference Team including Ashley Lord and Janelle Hardesty. Janelle Hardesty was also named to the All-County Team.

The award winners this year were Alisha Lord- free throw award, Cassidy Krieg- hustle award, Abby Lauber and Emily Einhaus- most improved, Abby Rohlfing- scholastic, Ashley Lord- rebounding award and captain award and Janelle Hardesty- assists award and MVP.

Varsity Boys Basketball

This year's varsity boys' basketball team was coach by long time coach David Bradshaw. The Eagles finished the season with a record of 10-14 and were crowned the sectional champions. The team was made up of Kyle Hackman, Brent Pettit, Damon Simon, Chris Bultman, Adam Peetz, Tyler Einhaus, Chip Schuler, Matt Hicks, Andrew Huntington, Derek Jones,
Kyle Horan and Keith Konradi. Craig Mergenthal and Joe Andrews were the mangers for this year's squad. Adam Peetz, Kyle Hackman and Tyler Einhaus were all named to the All-Conference Team. Those three along with Chip Schuler were named to the All-Sectional team, with Peetz being named the MVP. Peetz was also named to the All-County Team.

Award winners this year were Kyle Hackman- most improved and Co-captain award, Adam Peetz- MVP, rebounding award and free throw award, Tyler Einhaus- assists award, Damon Simon- hustle award and Brent Pettit- Co-captain award.
