Chamber to sponsor
Meet the Candidates night
For the first time, the Ripley County Chamber
of Commerce will host a Meet the Candidates night. It will
be held at the South Ripley Elementary School Cafeteria on
April 21 at 7:00 p.m.
All the candidates running for county commissioner,
county council, Jac-Cen-Del School Board and Milan School Board
will be invited to participate. The event is open to the public.
Those wishing to ask questions of the candidates
will be able to place their question on a card which will then
be asked by the moderator.
The Chamber is glad to give candidates this opportunity
to present themselves and their views to the public.
Extension club to
have annual dinner
The Ripley County Extension Homemakers, an organization
that has been in existence for 75 years, will be having their
annual achievement dinner on April 15.
The event will be held at the Tyson Fellowship
Hall, Versailles, with registration at 5:30 p.m. and the meal
at 6:00 p.m.
Distinguished guests will include the state president
and district representative. Louann Menchhofer, Ripley County
Extension Educator, will facilitate the evening with the theme
being "The Dining Room Table."

Milan residents begin
clean up
Organizers of the Milan Beautification Committee
have announced that April 17 through April 24, has been declared
Pride in Milan Week.
A community clean up day has been set for Saturday, April
17, with residents encouraged to meet at the shelter house
in the rear of the park at 9:00 a.m. Heavy trash pick up day
has been set for April 24.
Residents are encouraged to spruce up their properties in
anticipation of the upcoming Sesquicentennial Celebration.
