Fugitive arrested during routine traffic stop

Darryl Ledford, 30, of Dayton, Ohio, was taken
into custody in the early morning hours of April 8, after it
was discovered he was wanted on an outstanding warrant from
Dayton, Ohio.
Sergeant Marvin Smith was on regular patrol duty when Ledford
was stopped near Versailles, and following a standard driver's
license check found to be a wanted man.
According to information from the Ripley County Sheriff's
Department, Ledford had an outstanding warrant for a probation
violation for several charges including three counts of aggravated
arson, aggravated murder, and resisting law enforcement. The
warrant was issued in March of this year from the Montgomery
County Court of Common Pleas.
It was also discovered that Ledford had several alias names
including: Darryl Smiley, Smiley Ledford, William Ledford,
and Darryl Wildman.
Indiana State Police Corporal Robert Garcia, and Milan Deputy
Town Marshal Gary Skaggs assisted Sgt. Smith in the arrest.
Ledford was taken without incident to the Ripley County Jail
and has been extradited to Dayton, Ohio, according to Ripley
County Sheriff Bill Davison.
