Holton man charged with two felonies following
abduction incident
On Sunday, April 11, the Ripley County Sheriff's
Department responded to a report of a possible abduction in
the New Marion area.
Following an investigation, information was received that
George O. Moore, 43, of Holton, had allegedly abducted his
wife at gunpoint and fled the area in a pickup truck.
After an intensive search of the area by officers from the
sheriff's department, Indiana State Police, and Osgood Police
Department, Moore was arrested without incident and incarcerated
at the Ripley County Jail pending a hearing.
On Monday, April 12, Moore was formally charged in Ripley
Circuit Court by Prosecutor Ric Hertel with one count of Criminal
Confinement while armed with a deadly weapon, a Class B felony
and one count of Criminal Recklessness, a Class D felony.
Moore's bail was set at $20,000 and he was bonded out on Monday.
