Barnstorming Tour Stops at Milan
Former IU basketball players scrimmage against local ball players

For the second straight year the Damon Bailey Barnstorming Tour stopped in Ripley County. This year the tour stopped in Milan to compete against a team constructed by Milan High School teacher Rod Snapp.

The Barnstorming Tour is a tour put together by former Indiana University player Damon Bailey with other former IU players and they travel across the state and play scrimmage games against local teams. Players on Bailey's team this year are former IU players A.J. Moye, George Leach and Tom Coverdale. Other players included former Jac-Cen-Del standout Brad Borgman, Josh Allen, Jason Stewart and Travis Inman.

The Milan team was made up of Rod Snapp, Milan seniors Rex Parker, Matt Swisher and Stephan Laub, Emory Ogletree and Sidney
Williams from Cincinnati, Ishmieal Kamara from Columbus, Ohio and Brenden Stavers from Northern Kentucky University.

Milan's Rex Parker had a chance to tie the game at the end of regulation but missed the three-pointer, which allowed the Barnstorming team to walk away with the 112-109 victory.

A.J. Moye led all scorers with 33 points. Tom Coverdale was next on the Barnstorming team with 25 followed by Brad Borgman with 18, George Leach with 15, Josh Allen and Jason Stewart with 8 apiece, Travis Inman with 5 and Damon Bailey with 2.

NKU's Brenden Stavers led the Milan team with 25 points followed by Sidney Williams with 23, Ishmieal Kamara with 22, Emory Ogletree with 18, Rex Parker with 15 and Rod Snapp with 3.

Lady Indians pick up seventh victory of season with win over N. Decatur

After defeating South Decatur last week, the Lady Indians traveled to the other Decatur school to pick up another victory. Milan defeated the North Decatur Chargers 11-8 Tuesday night to pick up their seventh victory of the season and push their record to 7-1.

The Indians put six quick runs on the board in the top of the first inning with six of their first seven batters crossing home plate. North Decatur came to the plate and managed just one run to make the score 6-1 after one inning of play.

Milan continued to dominate through the five innings adding five more runs to give them the 11-1 lead going into the seventh and final inning.

In the top of the seventh the Indi
ans' order was retired giving the Chargers one last chance to come back.

North Decatur's first three batters crossed home plate before the Indians could get the first out. From there the Chargers scored three more runs in the inning to give them a total of 8 runs which wasn't enough as the Lady Indians walked away with the victory.

Jenna Johnson batted 3 for 5 in the contest with one run scored. Lauren Ison went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored and an RBI and Miranda Roberts batted 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's.

Kayla Teer was the winning pitcher, pitching the entire game, giving up 8 runs (3 earned) on 8 hits, walking 4 batters and striking out 3.

Milan's next game is Friday at home against Rising Sun. That game is scheduled to start at 4:30 pm.
