Director Brad Street and members of the Southeastern Career Center Board of Directors have announced the gift of eight vehicles from Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. of Lafayette.

Noting that the vehicles may be used for educational purposes only, Director Street says the value of the gift is from $160,000 to $200,000.

"Subaru of Indiana truly supports education and the students of Indiana," said Street and Board President Ahaus in a letter of appreciation to Richard Johnson of the Subaru company.

SCC officials also expressed appreciation to Terry Eaglin of Eaglin Motorsports and Martin Bush, school maintenance, for transporting the vehicles from Lafayette to the Career "All auto mechanics classes as well as auto body classes will have the opportunity to use these vehicles," said Street. "Subaru is also talking of giving diesel trucks to SCC this summer for use in our diesel program."

Street believes the donation can be extremely educational for training as well as for understanding new fuel injection equipment. "We are delighted to be able to receive such a gift and believe it will enhance the experiences of students involved in auto mechanics and auto body."

Southeastern Career Center's member school administrators form the board of directors, which this year is led by South Ripley Superintendent Ted Ahaus as president and Rising Sun Superintendent Steve Patz as vice president.
