The Jac-Cen-Del School Board approved the master
contract between JCD School Corporation and the JCD Educators
Association for the 2003-2004 and the 2004-2005 school years.
Teachers will receive a 2.5% increase in pay. Superintendent
Bill Narwold thanked the mediator, and school board members
Kathy Dickman and John Billman for reaching the settlement
of the two year contract.
Corporation Treasurer Ruth Ann Peetz reported she had been
in contact with the Ripley County Auditor and that all 2003
monies, except Financial Institution Taxes had been
received. She said no monies for 2004 had been received except Property Tax
Replacement Credit for the first half of 2004. Debt Service and Capital Projects
will run in the red until monies will be received for 2004. The billing to
property owners has not been sent out and therefore no monies will be received
in the near
future. The treasurer advised the board in a regular year the school would
have received $800,000 to $900,000 of local money by the end of June. To date
JCD has not had to borrow money to operate.
Dee Powers will be a fifth grade teacher at JCD Elementary
School for next year. Jason Laudick was
hired as Director of Maintenance for the corporation. Nancy Enneking resigned
as a pre-school teacher. Summer teachers and employees were also approved.
All board members were present: Charlie Hughes, Paul C. Hardy,
John Billman, Deanna Young and Kathleen Dickman. Also present
to advise the board were Superintendent Bill Narwold and School
Attorney Tim Day.
The next board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 20,
at 7:30 p.m. at the JCD Jr. Sr. High School cafeteria.
