Kenneth W. Cassel, Jr.
Kenneth W. Cassel, Jr., 78, of Batesville, died Wednesday, June 23, 2004 at his
residence. He was born November 18, 1925 in Jay County, Indiana the son of
Kenneth W. Cassel Sr. and Beulah (Turner) Cassel, both deceased. He married
Anne Miles Cassel on September 2, 1960 in Cincinnati and she survives.
Other survivors include two brothers, Thomas Cassel of Birmingham, MI, Doyt Cassel
of Carmel, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers,
Jay and Keevin (Joe) Cassel and two sisters, Madonna Meyers and Hilda Boone.
Mr. Cassel was a writer and editor. He worked as a reporter for the Palledium
Item in Richmond for several years before accepting a position with the General
Electric Corporation and then the U.S. Environmental Agency in Cincinnati. After
retirement he became a consultant for several federal agencies and private firms.
He was a veteran of the Korean War in the Air Force division.
There will be no visitation services. Funeral services will be held at the convenience
of the family.
Memorials may be made to Batesville Rescue 10 or Home Health Care or Hospice
of Margaret Mary Hospital.
Andrew Dale House
Andrew Dale House, 16, of Aurora, died Monday, June 21, 2004 at University Hospital
in Cincinnati, OH. He was born May 1, 1988 in Lawrenceburg the son of Dale
E. House, Sr. and Diane L. McDaniel and they survive in Aurora. He was a student
at South Dearborn High School.
Other survivors include two brothers, Dale House, Jr. of Lawrenceburg, Joseph
McDaniel of Aurora, two sisters, Dawn Ranshaw of Manchester, Krista Williams
of Moores Hill, maternal grandfather, William McDaniel of Aurora, maternal grandmother,
Dina McDaniel of Aurora, paternal grandfather, Millard House of Aurora and paternal
grandmother, Betty A. Myers of Aurora.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 25, 2 p.m. at Filter Funeral Home in
Aurora.
Burial was in the Riverview Cemetery in Aurora. Memorials may go to the Aurora
Emergency Unit or the Aurora Fire Department.
Mildred M. Lattire
Mildred M. Lattire, 94, of Milan, died Sunday, June 27, 2004 at the Waters Health
Care, Batesville. She was born January 31, 1910 in Dearborn County the daughter
of Guy and Mary Jane (Mayme) Brown Rumsey. She married Roy C. Lattire on April
18, 1928 and he preceded her in death on January 28, 1995.
Survivors include one son, Floyd Lattire of Hamilton, OH, two daughters, Phyllis
Haase of Wilmington, NC, Gladys Moody of Milan, one sister, Mary Lacey of Aurora,
five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by
two brothers, Clarence and Robert Rumsey and one sister, Ella Mae Richardson
and one grandchild, Doug Haase.
Mrs. Lattire was a homemaker and a member of the Milan United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 30 from 5-7 p.m. at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral
Home, Milan. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 1 at 2 p.m. at the
funeral home with Rev. Robin Norris officiating. Burial will be in the Craven
Cemetery, Milan.
Memorials may be made to Milan Rescue 30, Milan Fire Department or the Milan
United Methodist Church.
George M. Bressert
George M. Bressert, 86, of Dillsboro, died Wednesday, June 23, 2004 at the Dearborn
County Hospital, Lawrenceburg. He was born August 16, 1917 in Dillsboro the
son of Ernest Bressert and India Voris, both deceased. He married Ruth Watson
Bressert and she survives.
Other survivors include four sons, Charles Bressert, Randy Bressert, both of
Versailles, Larry Bressert, Dana Bressert, both of Dillsboro, one daughter, Madonna
Gordon of Dillsboro, one stepson, Dennis Watson of Moores Hill, five stepdaughters,
Karen LaFollette of Ft. Myers, FL, Donna Couch of Shelbyville, Hilda Jones of
Indianapolis, Mary McAdams of Moores Hill, Devonda Wismann of Aurora, two brothers,
Albert Bressert of CA, Bob Bressert of Cincinnati, OH, 13 grandchildren, 11 great
grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by wife Evelyn A. (Richards) Bressert and one daughter,
Bonnie Bressert.
Mrs. Bressert was a 1937 graduate of Dillsboro High School and a member of the
Dillsboro United Methodist Church. He was a truck driver for the State Highway
Dept. of Aurora.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 26 at 11 a.m. at Ulrich Filter Funeral
Home, Dillsboro. Burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery, Dillsboro. Memorials may

Effie Marie Kruse
Effie Marie Kruse, 91, of Aurora, died Thursday, June 17, 2004 at the Waters
of Ross Manor in Dillsboro. She was born January 27, 1913 in Kentucky the daughter
of George Perkins Jones and Mollie Ore, both deceased. She married Albert Kruse
and he also preceded her in death. She was a nurse.
Survivors include one granddaughter, Linda Cutter of Dillsboro, one great-granddaughter,
Deidra Dennis of Dillsboro and one great-grandson, Aaron Cutter of Dillsboro.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Bobbie J. Davis.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, June 22, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Filter
Funeral Home in Aurora.
Funeral services will follow visitation at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Burial
will be in the German Lutheran Cemetery in Milan.
Memorials may go to the First Baptist Church of Aurora Building Fund.
Eileen Ann Kessens
Eileen Ann Kessens, 81, of Batesville, died Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at her residence.
She was born October 14, 1922 in Batesville the daughter of Gilbert and Bertha
(Gunter) Klostermeyer, both deceased. She married Virgil Kessens on April 12,
1947 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Crossroads, and he survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Donna Harrelson of Greensburg, three sons,
Gary (Cynthia) Kessens, Robert (Joyce) Kessens and Kenneth (Diane) Kessens, all
of Batesville, one son-in-law, Robert Krieger of Batesville, twelve grandchildren
and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathleen
Krieger.
Mrs. Kessens was a homemaker and also a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church,
Crossroads.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 19, 10 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church,
Crossroads, with Pastor Gary Groth officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery. Memorials may go to the Margaret Mary Hospital

Jace Alexander Herring
Jace Alexander Herring, 0 of Canaan, died June 13, 2004 at University Hospital
in Louisville, KY. He was born June 13, 2004 in Louisville the son of Jacob
David Solomon Herring and Candi Dawn (Hamilton) Herring and they survive in
Canaan.
Other survivors include grandparents, David and Theressa Herring of Canaan, Rick
and Anita Hamilton of Bennington, great grandparents, Donald and Alice Juengel
of Indianapolis, Charles and Nellie Hamilton of Bennington, Charles Lovins of
Madison, several aunts and uncles and several great uncles, great aunts and cousins.
He was preceded in death by great grandparents, Melba Lovins, James and Hildagard
Herring and Glenroy Stephan.

Michael A. Shadday
Michael A. Shadday, 49, of Indianapolis, died Wednesday, June 16, 2004 in Indianapolis.
He was born July 24, 1954 in Beech Grove the son of Raymond Shadday and Elizabeth
R. (Betty) Shadday.
Survivors include his mother, Elizabeth R. Shadday of Indianapolis, maternal
grandmother, Norma I. Heitmeyer of Dillsboro and uncle, Robert H. Heitmeyer of
Dillsboro. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Shadday, maternal
grandfather, James A. Heitmeyer, paternal grandfather, William Shadday and paternal
grandmother, Blanche Shadday.
Mr. Shadday was a shipping and receiving clerk. He was also a member of the St.
Matthews Lutheran Church in Indianapolis and was a 1972 graduate of John Marshall
High School in Indianapolis.

in Dillsboro. Burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery in Dillsboro.

Mary L. Laker, 84, of Enochsburg, died Friday, June 18, 2004 at the Waters of
Batesville. She was born August 13, 1919 in Batesville the daughter of George
Bessler and Catherine Stoltz Bessler, both deceased. She married Henry Laker
on February 14, 1946 at St. John's Church in Enochsburg and he survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Janice Meyer of Enochsburg, Elizabeth
Joyner of Indianapolis, Connie Main of Enochsburg, four sons, Dan Laker of Enochsburg,
John Laker of Leesburg, Jim Laker of Oldenburg, Tom Laker of Enochsburg, fifteen
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three
sisters, Henrietta Schmidt, Jenny Keene and Ruth Hensley and eight brothers,
Ed Bessler, Carl (Fatty) Bessler, John (Heinle) Bessler, Alois (Ollie) Bessler,
Clarence (Butch) Bessler, Walter (Pat) Bessler, Urban (Dix) Bessler and George

Mrs. Laker was a homemaker and a member of St. John's Church and St. Anne's Altar
Society.

L. Schwanholt
Raymond L. Schwanholt, 93, of Dillsboro, died Saturday, June 19, 2004 at Dearborn
County Hospital in Lawrenceburg. He was born June 14, 1911 in Bear Creek the
son of Henry E. and Sophia Thomas Schwanholt, both deceased. He married Mildred
Ohlmansiek and she survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Katherine Jean (Schwanholt) Gullion of
New Palestine, Beverly Louise (Schwanholt) Nixon of Dillsboro, four grandchildren
and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Dana,
Stanley and Nathan Schwanholt.
Mr. Schwanholt was a former maintenance supervisor. He was also a carpenter and
home builder, a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Dillsboro, a 1929 graduate
of Dillsboro High School and a member of South Dearborn Basketball Hall of Fame
on May 25, 2001.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, June 22 from 5-8 p.m. (EDT) at Ulrich
Filter Funeral Home in Dillsboro.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 23, 11 a.m. (EDT) at Trinity Lutheran
Church in Dillsboro.

Williams Rice
Sue Ellen Williams Rice, 47, of Cleves, OH, formerly of Holton passed away Friday,
June 18, 2004 at her residence. She was born in Batesville on April 17, 1957
the daughter of Gerald and Carolyn Schlotman Williams.
Ms. Rice attended Holton Elementary School and was a 1975 graduate of South Ripley
High School. She was a homemaker and had worked in restaurant management for
Pizza Hut and Kentucky Fried Chicken. She was also a member of the Versailles
Baptist Church.
Survivors include her parents, Gerald and Carolyn Williams of Greensburg, three
sons, Steve Rice and wife Shannon of Versailles, David and Tracy Rice of Osgood,
Kyle Rice of Ft. Sill, OK, three grandchildren, Austin, McKenzie and Skyler Rice,
paternal grandmother, Martha Williams of Osgood, maternal grandmother, Madge
Schlotman of Holton, three brothers, Mark Williams of Edinburg, Steve Williams
of Atlanta, Andy Williams of Greensburg and two sisters, Beth Hewitt of Batesville
and Lisa Granger of Greensburg.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 21, 2 p.m. at the Union Flat Rock Baptist
Church near Osgood with Rev. Carolyn Williams officiating.

(Roland) Smith
Vera Jean (Roland) Smith, 76, of Dillsboro, formerly of Vevay, died Friday, June
18, 2004 at the Waters of Dillsboro Ross. She was born August 31, 1927 in Bennington
the daughter of Claude B. Roland and Dorothy L. (Shadday) Roland, both deceased.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna Robinson and husband Randy of Sunman,
Genevieve Sloan and husband Carroll of Vevay, seven grandchildren and eleven
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her companion of twenty years,
John Lynn "Buddy" Walker, one son, Donald W. Smith and one grandson,
Keith Otto.
Mrs. Smith had worked at Schendley Distillery for many years. She had also worked
at the Vevay Western Auto Store in Vevay with her parents who owned the store.
She was also a member of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 Auxiliary and Vevay
VFW Post #5396 Auxiliary.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 21, 1 p.m. at Haskell & Morrison
Funeral Home in Vevay with Pastor C. Martin Justice officiating.

Charles E. Richards, 36, of Batesville, died Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at St. Luke's
Hospital East in Ft. Thomas, KY. He was born January 24, 1968 in Lawrenceburg
the son of Louis H. Richards and Mary Jones Richards.
Survivors include his father, Louis Richards of Aurora, three sisters, Kimberly
Brewer of Bellevue, KY, Mary Richards of Jeffersonville, Donna Richards of Lawrenceburg
and two brothers, Earl Richards of Marion and Chris Richards of Aurora. He was
preceded in death by his mother, Mary Jones Richards.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, June 15, 10-11 a.m. (slow time) at Weigel
Funeral Home in Batesville.

Edith (Breeden) Riley
Edith (Breeden) Riley, 82, of Vevay, died Saturday, June 12, 2004 at Swiss Villa
Living Center in Vevay. She was born May 15, 1922 in Gallatin County, KY the
daughter of Berk Breeden and Angie Flo (Marsh) Breeden Riley, both deceased.
She married Jesse J. Riley on December 29, 1938 and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Janette Ferguson of Greenwood, JoAnn Canfield
of Madison, Betty Mathews and husband Nelson of Vevay, two sons, Phillip Riley
and wife Glenna of Vevay, Kenny Riley and wife Margaret Ann of Vevay, sixteen
grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren, six sisters, Mable Bond, Mildred
Butler, Jennie Riley and Louise Sullivan all of Warsaw, KY, Catherine Roberts
and Eva Jo Criss both of Florence, KY and several nieces and nephews. She was
preceded in death by one sister, Nadine Brown, two brothers, Claude and Harold
Louis Breeden, twin half brothers, Johnny and Jessie Frances Riley, one stepsister,
Flora Bell Howell, three stepbrothers, Jim, Arthur and Shirley Riley, one granddaughter,
Jill Mathews, one son-in-law, Louis Frank Ferguson and her stepfather, Jesse
James Riley.
Mrs. Riley was employed for 20 years as a cementer for the US Shoe Factory in
Vevay. She was a homemaker and farmer all of her life. She was a member of the
Truth Apostolic Church in Vevay and the Riverview Home Economics Club.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, 5-8 p.m. (slow time) at Haskell & Morrison
Funeral Home in Vevay and also Wednesday, June 16, 10 a.m. until time of service
at the funeral home.

Edna Helton Barber
Edna Helton Barber, 76, of Aurora, died Thursday, June 10, 2004 at her son's
residence. She was born May 10, 1928 in Booneville, KY the daughter of Asberry
and Isabelle Burton Bowling, both deceased. She married Hubert Helton and George
Barber who both preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Vickie Tunstall of Lawrenceburg, three sons and
daughters-in-law, Mike and Terry Helton of Aurora, Daniel and Carla Helton of
Aurora, George and Melody Barber of Dillsboro, fourteen grandchildren and one
great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by one infant son, Mark Anthony Helton
and seven sisters and brothers.
Mrs. Barber was a homemaker and an active member of the First Southern Baptist
Church in Sunman.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 14, 11 a.m. at the First Southern Baptist
Church in Sunman with Rev. Hobert Brandenburg officiating.
Burial was in the Hogan Hill Cemetery in Aurora. Memorials may go to the church.

Jack L. Miller
Jack L. Miller, 74, of Versailles, passed away Friday, June 11, 2004 at the residence
of his nephew Dennis Hoeferkamp near New Marion with whom he made his home.
Mr. Miller was born near Napoleon on March 4, 1930 the son of Oral and Hilda
Schmele Miller.
Survivors include his stepmother, Mrs. Mae Miller of Versailles, one sister,
Betty Hoeferkamp Skelton of Versailles and several nieces and nephews. He was
preceded in death by his half brother, Charles R. Miller.
Mr. Miller was a 1947 graduate of Versailles High School and served in the U.S.
Air Force during the Korean War where he was stationed in New Foundland. He was
a 47 year employee of Seagrams Distillery in Lawrenceburg. He was also a member
of the Aurora American Legion and the Aurora Masonic Lodge.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, June 15, 5-7 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter
Funeral Home in Versailles.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 16 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home
with Bro. Dale Day of the Versailles Church of Christ and Rev. Garland Rudd of
the Cedar Creek Community Church officiating.
Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles with military graveside
rites given by the Aurora American Legion. Memorials may be given to the donor's
choice.
Melvin H. Selke
Melvin H. Selke, 87, of Batesville, died Friday, June 11, 2004 at his residence.
He was born August 20, 1916 in Ripley County the son of John C. and Anna (Huffmeyer)
Selke, both deceased. He married Lelah Selke on February 24, 1938 at Adams
Lutheran Church and she survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Robert Selke of Dayton, OH, Eugene (Coleen)
Selke of Batesville, Donald (Jane) Selke of Elkhart, six grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren. One sister, Ruth Bland of Batesville also survives. He was
preceded in death by two brothers, Nelson and Earl Selke and one sister, Nioma
Selke, one brother and one sister died as infants.
Mr. Selke was a farmer and a member of Adams Lutheran Church.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 14 at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville
with Pastor William Powlen officiating. Burial was in the Rossburg Cemetery,
New Point.

Charles Wesley
(Bud) Fletcher, Jr.
Charles Wesley (Bud) Fletcher, Jr., 83, of Dillsboro, died Wednesday, June 2,
2004 at his residence. He was born March 28, 1921 in Moores Hill the son of Charles
W. Fletcher, Sr. and Mary C. Heustis, both deceased. He married Geraldine M.
Mohr and she survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Stephen Fletcher of Charleston, SC, Jeffery
Fletcher off Fort Wayne, Michael Fletcher of Versailles, two daughters, Sallie
Coonan of Maitland, FL, Amy Fletcher of Dillsboro, one brother, Robert Fletcher
of Austin, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in
death by two sisters, Marjorie Honchell and Ruth Perkins.
Mr. Fletcher retired as a lineman from Southeastern Indiana Telephone Company.
He was a member of the Southeastern Indiana Shrine Club in Dillsboro, Hopewell
Masonic Lodge #80 and Northcutt American Legion Post #292. He also served as
a private in the 61st Signal Battalion from 1942 to 1945 in Nnorthern France,
Rhineland and Central Europe and received the RAME Theatre Ribbon with three
Bronze Stars.
Graveside services were held Saturday, June 5 at 11 a.m. in the Forest Hill Cemetery
in Moores Hill. Military services were conducted by the American Legion Post
and Northcutt Laaker Post #292 in Dillsboro.
Ulrich Filter Funeral Home, Dillsboro, was in charge of the arrangements. Memorials

Garnett (Liggett) Wolf
Garnett (Liggett) Wolf, 90, of Greenfield, died Friday, June 4, 2004 at Hancock
Memorial Hospital in Greenfield. She was born February 13, 1914 in Covington,
KY the daughter of William Liggett and Josephine Murphy, both deceased. She
married Russell D. Wolf on October 4, 1930 and he preceded her in death on
September 8, 1991.
Survivors include one daughter, Bonnie L. Priest and husband Jim of Bainbridge,
GA, three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter
and two nephews. She was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Michael Butler.
Mrs. Wolf along with her late husband owned and operated the Russell D. Wolf
Appliance Store in Cross Plains for several years. They later moved to Madison
where they were co-founders of Wolf Wholesale, Inc. She was a member of Faith
Lutheran Church, Hope-Rebekah Lodge in Bennington and was also past president
of the Indiana State Rebekah Assembly.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 7 at Vail-Holt Funeral Home, Madison,
with Pastor Jeff Pflug officiating.
Burial was in the Grandview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may go to the Faith Lutheran
Church.
Lora Mae (Ketenbrink)
Clements
Lora Mae (Ketenbrink) Clements, 64, of Vevay, near Allensville, died Thursday,
June 3, 2004 at Mercy Mt. Airy Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. She was born March
6, 1940 in Switzerland County the daughter of Wilfred P. Ketenbrink and Edna
(Bennett) Ketenbrink, both deceased. She married C. Kenneth Clements on September
20, 1958 at the Allensville United Methodist Church and he survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Charles Clements Jr. and his companion Sheila
of Vevay, Denny Clements and wife Kelly of East Enterprise, four grandsons, one
great-grandson, one brother-in-law, Clarence Wentworth of New Albany and several
nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and other relatives. She
was preceded in death by one sister, Joy D. Quick.
Mrs. Clements was a 1958 graduate of Vevay High School. She was a member of the
Allensville United Methodist Church and had worked as a clerk at Rieman's Grocery
in East Enterprise for seven years. She then helped her husband farm and milk
the dairy cattle and last worked for Grote Industries in Madison.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 7, 11 a.m. at Haskell & Morrison
Funeral Home in Vevay with Rev. Howard Wade officiating.
Burial was in the Vevay Cemetery. Memorials may go to the Switzerland County
Emergency Unit or the East Enterprise Volunteer Fire Department.
Noble A. Lane
Noble A. Lane died Saturday, May 22, 2004 in Indianapolis. He was born August
12, 1922 in Elrod.

Robert W. Stoever
Robert W. Stoever, 69, of Cross Plains, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2004 at the
Dillsboro Manor in Dillsboro. He was born near Friendship on October 16, 1943
the son of Donald and Bessie Montgomery Stoever.
Mr. Stoever was a farmer and a veteran of the Korean era. He had made his home
with Chester and Margaret Vogel and family near Cross Plains.
Besides the Vogels, he is survived by his sister, Rosemary Meredith of Cadiz,
KY.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 9, 1 p.m. until time of services at the
Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
Funeral services will follow visitation at the funeral home at 2 p.m. with Rev.
Sherman Hughes of the Bear Creek Baptist Church officiating.
Burial will be in the St. Peter's Cemetery near Olean with military graveside
rites by the Versailles American Legion. Memorials may be given to the Dillsboro
Manor in care of the funeral home.
Thomas C. "Bud" Erhart
Thomas C. "Bud" Erhart, 63, of Metamora, died Wednesday,
June 2, 2004 at the Waters of Batesville. He was born December
21, 1940 in Cincinnati, OH
the son of Thomas E. Erhart and Mary Hogan Erhart, both deceased.
Survivors include two sisters, Patricia (Jim) Dwyer of Metamora, Sue (Ed) Denk
of Cleveland, OH, one brother, Daniel (Linda) Erhart of Cincinnati, OH, four
nieces and three nephews.
Mr. Erhart was the co-owner of the Chris Erhart Foundry in Cincinnati, OH retiring
in 1990. He was also a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 7, 10 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church
in Batesville with Rev. Daniel Mahan officiating.
Burial was in the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may go to Right to Life.
Weigel Funeral Home, Batesville, was in charge of the arrangements.
William L. Jones
William L. Jones, 63, of Batesville, died Thursday, June 3, 2004 at Margaret
Mary Community Hospital, Batesville. He was born September 9, 1940 at Ft. Knox,
KY, the son of Grover and Etta May (Greene) Jones, both deceased. He married
Sarah Suttmann and she preceded him in death on July 25, 1983. He then married
Maggie (Martin) Giesting and she survives.
Other survivors include, one son, William Todd Jones of Batesville, two daughters,
Gerri Schegman and Nancy Kruthaupt both of Batesville, one stepson, James Giesting
of Batesville, three stepdaughters, Patty Wagner of Batesville, Barbara Laughlin
of Newark, OH, Cheryl Groce of Brookville, 11 grandchildren and one great grandson.
He is also survived by one sister, two half brothers, one half sister and three
stepsisters.
Mr. Jones was a member of the Holy Family Church in Oldenburg, a US Marine during
peacetime and Vietnam. He retired from Batesville Casket.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 7 at 10 a.m. at the Holy Family Church
with Rev. John Turnbull officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with full
military graveside rites.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the National Kidney
Foundation.
Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, was in charge of the arrangements.

Alvin
William Siebert
Alvin William Siebert, 81, of Batesville, died Thursday, May 27, 2004 at his
residence. He was born February 11, 1923 in Batesville the son of William and
Edna (Bornemeier) Siebert, both deceased. He married Betty Ahrens on September
8, 1945 at Huntersville Church and she survives.
Other survivors include one son, Dennis (Roberta) Siebert of Batesville and several
nieces and nephews.
Mr. Siebert was a life long farmer and also worked at Romweber until his retirement
in 1977. He was a member of the St. John United Church of Christ, Huntersville,
and the F.O.E. Area #1130.
Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, June 1, 10 a.m, at Meyers Funeral
Home in Batesville with Rev. David Johnston and Rev. Juanita Connerley officiating.
Burial will be in the St. John Cemetery, Huntersville. Memorials may go to the
St. John United Church of Christ.
Arwilda N. Siebert
Arwilda N. Siebert, 90, of Batesville, died Thursday, May 27, 2004 at Hospitality
Hall in Batesville. She was born April 27, 1914 in New Marion the daughter
of Harry and Nell Delay, both deceased. She married Herbert Siebert and he
survives.
Other survivors include one granddaughter, Ann Delay Schutte and two sisters,
Eileen Alsop of California and Lucille Zwayer of Texas. She was preceded in death
by one daughter, Judith K. (Wallace) Schutte.
Mrs. Siebert was a retired nurse from Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville.
She was a member of the Batesville United Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern
Star Chapter #348.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 29, 11 a.m. at Meyers Funeral Home in
Batesville with Rev. Larry Maehanka officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery. Memorials may go to the Batesville United
Methodist Church.
Kenneth Doan
Kenneth Doan, 61, of Milan, passed away Thursday, May 27, 2004 at his residence.
He was born near Delaware on June 15, 1942 the son of Edward and Edna Schutte
Doan. He was married to Pauline Freytag on September 4, 1965 and she survives.
Other survivors include four daughters, Valery Hornberger and her husband Kris,
Cheryl Vogelsang and Michael, Jill Meyer and Chad and Joyce Pindell and Brian
all of Milan, ten grandchildren, and one brother, Eugene Doan of Chandler, OK.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Mr. Doan was employed with McKittrick Contracting in Milan and was retired from
Seagram's in Lawrenceburg. He was a Navy veteran of Vietnam and a member of the
Milan American Legion.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 29 at 2 p.m. at Stratton Karsteter Funeral
Home, Versailles, with Jr. Schutte officiating.. Burial was in the Mud Pike Cemetery
near Osgood. Military graveside rites were given by the Milan American Legion.
Memorials may be given to St. Jude's Children's Fund.
