An armed robbery took place Saturday, August 21, at the Bake-Mart Shell Station in Versailles, according to information from the Ripley County Sheriff's Department.

A white male entered the business and after he picked up an item from the display shelf, he approached the cashier with a knife in hand demanding the cashier hand over the money in the drawer.

He received a small amount of money and left the Bake-Mart driving a tan colored car.

Officers working the case say the cashier provided excellent descriptions about the suspect making their job easier. Ripley County deputies William Dramann and Tom Grills along with ISP Trooper Steve Weigel worked the investigation and located the suspect at a residence near Versailles the next day, August 22.

The investigation is continuing and according to Sheriff Bill Davison, the name of the suspect will be released upon his arrest.
