Indians' varsity football team picked
up their second victory with a 34-21
win over the visiting South Decatur
Cougars last Friday night. With the
win the Indians push their record
to 2-5 on the season. "We made
some personnel changes both offensively
and defensively and it seems to have
paid off," stated Milan coach
Marty Layden, "The defensive
back field had a good game defending
against one of the best QB's in the
MIFC."
The Indians jumped
out to an early lead when Matt Posten
rushed in for a short touchdown to
make the score 6-0. Milan missed
the PAT to keep their score at six.
South Decatur intercepted a Rusty

two touchdowns to their total while
holding South Decatur to one. Going
into the fourth quarter Milan was
leading 28-14.
Both teams scored again
in the fourth quarter but Milan was
unable to connect on the PAT giving
them a total of 34 points, which
was enough to hold on and get their
second victory with a score of 34-21.

compiled 11 total first downs on
265 total yards, 244 rushing and
21 passing. They had
35 yards on 4 Cougar penalties.
