According to Sally Morris, Executive Director
of the Ripley County Community Foundation, a Lunch & Learn
panel discussion is set for Wednesday, November 17, at 11:00
a.m. for non-profit organizations to learn about area foundations.
All five of the foundations that serve Ripley County residents
have been invited to participate. They include: Gilmore & Golda
Reynolds Foundation, Hillenbrand Foundation, Ripley County
Community Foundation, Rising Sun Regional Foundation, and the
Tyson Trust.
Topics of discussion at the luncheon, which will take place
at the Napoleon Senior Center, include: history of the foundation,
evaluation criteria, application criteria, service area, deadlines,
grant policies, areas of interest and application process.
There is no cost to anyone for this event. You are asked to
bring a brown bag lunch.
The panel discussion was designed to help all the area organizations
better understand how the foundations operate.
In a letter sent to the non-profit organizations, it was noted, "Foundations
exist to be philanthropic, and we at RCCF cannot think of a
better way to celebrate National Philanthropy Week than to
meet together in a joint effort with our non-profit organizations
to improve the lives of Ripley County residents."
The five foundations have contributed greatly to the quality
of life for those who live in Ripley County. This luncheon
is a reflection of their desire to meet with non-profits to
for the betterment of the community.
Morris encourages representatives from the non-profit organizations
to join together to "enjoy some good conversation and
perhaps leave with some new knowledge."
