Bernadette
Marie Lohrum
Bernadette "Bernie" Marie Lohrum, 73, of Milan, died
Monday, November 15, 2004 at her residence. She was born November
3, 1931 in Baltimore, Maryland
the daughter of John and Margaret Ruth Schmidt, both deceased. She married Victor
Gloyd Lohrum on October 6, 1952 and he survives.
Other survivors include one son, Dan Lohrum of Cross Plains; one daughter, Vincine "Susie" Felix
of Versailles; one brother, Walter Schmidt of Baltimore, Maryland; two sisters,
Jeanette Brocklehurst and Helen Travers both of Baltimore, Maryland; and one
grandchild. One brother and two sisters preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, November 18, at 10:00 a.m. at
Neal's Funeral Home, Osgood. Burial will be in the Washington Baptist Cemetery,
Milan. Memorials may be given to the Washington Baptist Cemetery in care of Neal's
Funeral Home, Osgood.
Cecil R. Baugh
Cecil R. Baugh, 79, of Osgood, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at the
Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. He was born at Mintenville, Kentucky
on December 8, 1924 the son of John and Gertie Baugh. He was married to Mildred
Brown on September 10, 1946 and she survives.
Other survivors include one son, Lester Baugh and his wife Ellen of Seymour;
four daughters, Sonja Samples and her husband Bert of Rexville, Gia Spoor and
Vern of Worthington, Ginger Bradford and Bill of Versailles, Shawna Baugh and
Rick of Osgood; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; one brother,
Edgar Baugh of Holton; two sisters, Bonnie Larabee of Cincinnati and Pauline
Cole of Holton.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Roy and Fred Baugh.
Mr. Baugh was an Army veteran of WWII where he served in the Ardennes, the Rhineland
and Central Europe. He received the American Theatre Ribbon and the EAME Theatre
Ribbon along with three bronze stars.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 19, 10:30 a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter
Funeral Home, Versailles with Pastor Robert Harting of the First Baptist Church
in Osgood officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, November 18 from 4:00 p.m.
- 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Grandview Memorial Garden near Madison with
military graveside rites by the Versailles American Legion.
Memorials may be given to the Hospice of Jennings County in care of the funeral

Doris E. Sellers
Doris E. Sellers, 73, of Osgood, died Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at her residence.
She was born February 3, 1931 in Ripley County the daughter of Harry and Mable
Cook Sellers, both deceased.
Survivors include one son, Dennis Sellers of Osgood; and two brothers, Gerald
Sellers of Hanover and Louie Sellers of Versailles.
Ms Sellers was a member of the Delaware Methodist Church and a past employee
of Dreyerhaus Nursing Home, Batesville.
Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, November 20 at the Salem Cemetery,
Cross Plains at 10:00 a.m.
Neal's Funeral Home, Osgood is in charge of the arrangements.
Laura Jane Dickman
Laura Jane Dickman, 16, of Batesville, died Monday, November 15, 2004 at Children's
Hospital, Cincinnati. She was born June 11, 1988 in Batesville the daughter
of Joanne (Wintz) and Bruce Dickman, Jr. and they survive.
Other survivors include three sisters, Angela Dickman of Bloomington, Kimberly
Dickman and Kathryn Dickman both of Batesville; maternal grandparents, Jerry
and Bob Wintz of Batesville; paternal grandparents, Eileen and Bruce Dickman,
Sr. of Batesville; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Miss Dickman was a member of the St. Louis Church, Batesville, was in the Batesville
High School choir. She was a junior at Batesville High School.
Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, November 18, at 10:00 a.m. at
St. Louis Church, Batesville with Rev. Christiaan Kappes officiating. Burial
will be in the St. Louis Cemetery, Batesville.
Memorials may be made to the Christian Children Foundation or Children's Hospital.

Lissa Ann Forthofer
Lissa Ann Forthofer, 54, of Butlerville, died Sunday, November 14, 2004 at her
residence. She was born July 25, 1950 in Union County, Ohio the daughter of
Frank and Leona Bell Holycross who survive in Marysville, Ohio. She married
Peter Forthofer and he survives.
Other survivors include one sister, F. Lee Holycross of Marysville, OH; and aunt
and uncle Linda and Dale Bell of Hocking Hills, OH.
Mrs. Forthofer was a housewife and a member of the St. Nicholas Catholic Church
and the Blessed Virgin Society.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 18, 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony's
Church, Morris. Funeral mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, at St. Anthony's
Church with Rev. Gregory Bramlage officiating. Burial will be in the St. Nicholas
Cemetery, St. Nicholas.
Memorials may be given to St. Nicholas School or to the masses.

Russell Griner
William Russell Griner, 95, of Napoleon, died Monday, November 15, 2004 at Swiss
Villa Nursing and Rehab Center, Vevay. He was born August 10, 1909 at Rexville,
the son of Wm. Amos and Anna Belle Kline Griner. He married Emma Lena Wienberg
on November 24, 1932 in Osgood and she survives in Madison.
Other survivors include two daughters, Laura Ann Miller of Greensburg, Mary Lou
Dunbar of Madison; four grandchildren, Don Miller of Greensburg, Denise Miller
of Washington, DC; Ron Dunbar of Atlanta, GA, Tamara Schorder of Denver, CO;
and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles
Raymond Griner and two sisters, Esther Marie Wells and Pauline Meese.
Mr. Griner owned and operated Griners Clover Farm Grocery from 1932-1950's and
also did painting in the area. He and his wife also operated greenhouses in Napoleon.
He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ "Finks".
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 18, 5-8 p.m. at Neal's Funeral Home,
Osgood. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 19 at 10:30 a.m. at Neal's
Funeral Home, Osgood. Burial will be in the St. Peter's Cemetery, Osgood.

Elizabeth
Lotte Drake
Elizabeth Lotte (Miller) Drake, 81, of Florence, died Wednesday, November 10,
2004 at Swiss Villa Living Center, Vevay. She was born March 18, 1923 in Kongisberg,
Germany the daughter of Albert Miller and Rosina (Lemke) Miller, both deceased.
She married William Joseph Drake on April 16, 1957 and he preceded her in death
on August 29, 2004.
Survivors include two sons, Gunther Drake and wife Barbara of East Enterprise,
Dr. Peter Drake and wife Marcella of Dillsburg, PA; eight grandchildren; six
great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by one grandson, Stephan Michael Drake and one sister,
Freda Miller.
Mrs. Drake worked for many years as a seamstress.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 16, at 6:30 p.m. at the Sorrowful
Mother of God Catholic Church in Vevay with Rev. John A. Meyer officiating.
Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Foundation or to the Switzerland County
Chapter of the American Cancer Society.
Hilda West
Hilda (Allen) West, 83, of Rising Sun, died Wednesday, November 10, 2004 at Christ
Hospital, Cincinnati. She was born August 29, 1921 in Minford, OH, the daughter
of Alva Ethan Allen and Della M. (Rambo) Allen, both deceased. She married
Floyd West on November 7, 1942 in Portsmouth, OH and he preceded her in death
in 1964.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne West and wife Pat of Lebanon, OH, Frank West
of San Diego, CA.; one brother, Marvin Allen of Lakeview, OH; two grandchildren;
one great grandson; and several other relatives; caregiver and best friends,
Gien and Beulah Spears of Quercus Grove.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Shoemaker, Hazel Dever; four
brothers, Wilber, Wilford, Cleo and Freddie Allen; and one daughter-in-law.
Mrs. West was a beautician for many years in Price Hill in Cincinnati owning
Hilda's Beauty Salon. She was a member of the Quercus Grove United Methodist
Church and was a past member of the Lebanon United Methodist Church. She was
a member of the Vevay VFW Post 5396 Auxiliary; the Hope Rebekah Lodge #851 in
Bennington; and the Center Square Homemaker's Club.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 12, from 5 p.m. until the time of services
at 6 p.m. at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, Vevay. Funeral services
will begin at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. John Scudder and Rev. Janet
Jacobs officiating. Vevay VFW Auxiliary Post 5396 will conduct a memorial service
on Friday at 6 p.m. Burial will be in the Lebanon Cemetery, Lebanon, OH.
Memorials may be given to the Switzerland County Chapter of the American Cancer
Society.
Gladys Ender
Gladys Ender, 97, of Dillsboro, died Monday, November 8, 2004 at Dillsboro. She
was born May 23, 1907 in Dillsboro the daughter George Henry Ellerbrook and
Emma A. Seifert. She married Clifford Enders and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one nephew, George Harlow of Cincinnati; and one niece Yulanda
Harlow of Cincinnati. Her parents; husband; three sisters, Helen (Weber) Morris,
Esther Harlow, and Dorothy Ellerbrook preceded her in death.
Mrs. Ender was a homemaker.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 11 from 12 noon until the time of
funeral services at 2:00 p.m. at Ulrich-Filter Funeral Home, Dillsboro. Burial
will follow in the Oakdale Cemetery, Dillsboro.
Memorials may be given to the Dillsboro United Methodist Church or the charity
of the donor's choice.
Bernard L. Haas, Jr.
Bernard L. Haas, Jr., 77, of Batesville, died Monday, November 8, 2004 at Columbus
Regional Hospital in Columbus. He was born December 27, 1926 in Clay County
the son of Bernard Sr. and Versa (Kirschner) Haas, both deceased. He married
Margie Haas on November 30, 1973 in Sunman and she preceded him in death on
November 11, 1989.
Survivors include one son, Michael Haas of Victoria, TX; two daughters, Michelle
Jones and Monica Haas, both of Terre Haute; two step sons, Terry Powell of Bright,
Kim Powell of Batesville; two step daughters, Robin Schornick of Batesville,
Amy Ruggles of Lexington, KY; eighteen grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter and one sister, Wilma Rightsell.
Mr. Haas was retired from Batesville Casket Company. He was a also a member of
Adams Lutheran Church south of Batesville, was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and
was a member of the VFW #3183 in Batesville.
Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, November 11, 10 a.m. at Meyers
Funeral Home in Batesville with Rev. William Powlen officiating.
Burial will be in the Adams Lutheran Cemetery with military funeral rites. Memorials
may go to the J. Michael Hansen Oncology Center.

Sylvester Abbott
Marion Sylvester Abbott, 76, of Lawrenceburg, died Monday, November 8, 2004 at
Lawrenceburg. He was born June 5, 1928 in Lawrenceburg.
Survivors include fiancÈe Betty Jean Grubbs of Lawrenceburg; six sons,
Marion Wayne Abbott of Indianapolis, Jimmie Dean Abbott of Lawrenceburg, William
Edward Abbott of Lawrenceburg, Michael Dale Abbott of Osgood, Terry Lenn Abbott
of Lawrenceburg, Danny Lee Abbott of Warsaw, KY; two daughters, Sharon Ann Childress
of Warsaw, KY, Wendy Abbott of Lawrenceburg; two half brothers, Greg Abbott,
Dennis Abbott both of Tennessee; two half sisters, Barbara and Gail of Tennessee;
27 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and many great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by mother-in-law Goldie Mack; half brother, Billy Abbott;
grandson, Larry Andrews Stacy; and great grandson, Michael Dale Abbott III.
Mr. Abbott was self-employed in the heating and air conditioning business. He
was an Army veteran and a member of the American Legion.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 11 from 11-1:00 p.m. at Fitch-Denney
Funeral Home, Lawrenceburg. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November
11 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jesse Barrett officiating. Burial
will be in the Greendale Cemetery in Lawrenceburg with color guard services conducted
by David McAllister Post #239.

Mildred M. Dierckman
Mildred M. Dierckman, 83, of Oldenburg, died Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at her
residence. She was born March 20, 1921 in Oldenburg the daughter of August
Werner and Lizzetta Roth Werner, both deceased. She married Alfred H. Dierckman
on April 26, 1944 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Oldenburg and he survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. George (Joan) Volk of Cedar Grove,
Mrs. Glen (Alice) Raver of Oldenburg; one son, Glen Dierckman of Los Angeles,
CA; eleven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in
death by one grandson, James Volk and two brothers, Howard and Elmer Werner.
Mrs. Dierckman was a homemaker and a retired laundry department employee for
the Sisters of St. Francis Convent in Oldenburg. She was a member of the Holy
Family Catholic Church in Oldenburg.
Visitation will be held today, Thursday, November 11, 4-7 p.m. at Weigel Funeral
Home in Batesville with a prayer service being held at 6 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 12, 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic
Church in Oldenburg with Rev. John Turnbull, O.F.M. officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may go to St. Rita's School
for the Deaf in Cincinnati, OH.
Peggy Lou Bishop
Peggy Lou Bishop, 75, of Osgood, died Monday, November 8, 2004 at Community Hospital
North, Indianapolis. She was born June 28, 1929 in Madison County the daughter
of Clarence Charles and Nellie Pettigrew Nighbert, both deceased.
Survivors include one son, Terry Joe Cullen of Mitchell; two daughters, Carolyn
E. Linville of Osgood, Shelba Wiley of Holton; one brother, Robert L. Nighbert
of Frankton; nine grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded
in death by one sister, Norma Jean Nighbert.
Ms Bishop graduated in 1947 from Summitville High School, Summitville and was
a member of the Napoleon Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, November 11 at 10:30 a.m. at Neal's
Funeral Home, Osgood. Burial will be in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Napoleon.
Memorials may be given to Task Unit One of Ripley County. Arrangements handled
by Neal's Funeral Home, Osgood.
Norma I. Heitmeyer
Norma I. Heitmeyer, 96, of Dillsboro, died Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at the Dearborn
County Hospital. She was born May 30, 1908 in Dillsboro the daughter of Edward
Leive and Elizabeth Graver. She married James A. Heitmeyer and he preceded
her in death.
Survivors include one son, Robert H. Heitmeyer of Dillsboro; one daughter, Elizabeth
R. Shadday of Indianapolis; one brother, Paul Leive of Dillsboro; two grandchildren;
and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband;
brother, Louis Leive; sister, Clara Leive; grandson, Michael A. Shadday; and
granddaughter, Linda Kay Shadday.
Mrs. Heitmeyer was a homemaker, a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and a
1925 graduate of Dillsboro High School.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 11 from 5-8:00 p.m. at the Ulrich-Filter
Funeral Home, Dillsboro. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 12 at
11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Dillsboro. Burial will be in the
Oakdale Cemetery.

Ruth R. Robinson
Ruth R. Robinson, 67, of Milan, died Tuesday, November 2, 2004 at Christ Hospital,
Cincinnati. She was born February 25, 1937 in Brooklyn, New York the daughter
of Francie and Rose (Commos) Roman. She married Lawrence Robinson on November
11, 1964 and he preceded her in death on August 3, 1978.
Survivors include one son, Richard and wife Nancy Robinson of Milan; one daughter,
Rosemary and husband Doug Campbell of Brookville; grandchildren, Jessica Robinson,
Tylor, Tosha, and Trista Campbell.
Mrs. Robinson was retired from the White Water Processing Plant in Harrison,
Ohio and was a member of the Milan United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 6 from 9-11 a.m. at Sibbett-Moore
Funeral Home, Moores Hill. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m.
with Pastor Randy Edwards officiating.
Memorials may be given to the family.
