Holiday music to be heard

Students all across the county have been practicing
for Christmas performances that will take place this month
before they break for the holidays.
· Under the direction of Mrs. Sandy Corfman, grades
one, two, and three at Jac-Cen-Del Elementary will perform
on Thursday, December 9, at 6:00 p.m. Then the Swing Choir
will delight the crowd at 7:00 p.m. On December 15, the Jac-Cen-Del
Jr. Sr. High School Band and Choir will give a performance
in the high school gymnasium at 7:30 p.m. under the direction
of Glenn Unklesbay. The performance is free to the public.
· At the Milan Elementary School, fourth graders will
give a Christmas performance at 6:00 p.m. with the third graders
performing at 7:00 p.m. on December 9. The presentations are
directed by Mindy Barnett. The High School Band, under the
direction of Stefani Bedel will give a concert on December
5, at 2:00 p.m. This includes grades 5-12 and will be held
at the high school. Then on December 12, at 2:00 p.m. the High
School Choir will sing under the direction of Dara Stutler.
· Grades three through five at South Ripley Elementary
School will perform a holiday special entitled, "Peace" on
December 6, at 7:00 p.m. under the direction of Sharon Grove.
This Sunday on December 5, at 2:30 p.m. the South Ripley Jr.
Sr. High School Band and Choir will give a performance at the
high school. The band is directed by Eric Stauffer with Raye
Jean Auterson directing the choir.
· Performances for Batesville schools are: Sunday,
December 5, at 2:00 p.m. the Batesville Middle School and High
School Choirs will present a concert at the high school auditorium;
Batesville Primary School will present "Home for the Holidays" on
December 6, at 7:00 p.m. with Batesville Intermediate School
giving a concert on December 7 at 7:00 p.m. in the high school
gym, and the Batesville Middle School and high school band
concert will be held December 12 at 3:00 p.m. in the high school
auditorium.
· Sunman Elementary School will present a holiday concert
on December 9 at 7:00 p.m. at the elementary school. The third
and fourth graders will perform under the direction of Kenzie
Bentle.
