MMCH restricts visitors to limit spread of flu

Due to recommendations by the Greater Cincinnati Health Council, Margaret Mary Community Hospital, Batesville, has issued precautionary guidelines concerning hospital visits.

Those who should refrain from visiting hospital patients include anyone under the age of 14, including siblings and newborns, and anyone 14 or older who has a fever, a runny nose, are coughing or sneezing or showing any other signs of respiratory illness.

Hospital patients, especially babies and the elderly, are easily infected by visitors with illnesses. Following these visitation guidelines will provide the safest environment for hospital residents.

To keep from spreading the flu to others, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also recommends careful hand washing, coughing and sneezing into the sleeve or a tissue and staying home from work or school when you are sick.
