Napoleon gas customers to see increase
Cathy May - Contributing Writer

The Napoleon Town Board meeting, held February 9, started out with a public hearing on the gas rate increase. No one from the public appeared. Ordinance 2005-3 was passed raising the gas rate by 5%. The increase should show up in the April billing.

A member of St. Maurice Catholic Church, which is located next door to the Napoleon Senior Center, asked if something could be done about the open trash cans. Dogs are getting into the cans and spreading trash. The town will contact Best Way to find out the cost of a dumpster.

Rod Eaton, Utility Superintendent, reported the spillway to the lagoon needs flowable fill and the town needs to replace the line from the metering station to the creek. Eaton said the work could be done for about $1,300. The town gave him permission to complete the work.

All three board members, Tim Brancamp, Bill Vankirk and Gerry Linarducci were present for the meeting. Clerk-Treasurer, Karen Rohlfing was present to advise the board. The next meeting will be held on March 9, at 7:00 p.m. at the Napoleon Senior Center.
