In one of their sloppier and lower scoring outings of the season the Jac-Cen-Del Eagles defeated the Rising Sun Shiners on the Shiners' court Tuesday night by a score of 51-46.

The Eagles finished the game with 19 turnovers, forcing Rising Sun to turn the ball over just 10 times. One of the keys to their victory was out rebounding the Shiners 31-22.

In the first half the two teams traded the lead back and forth with neither team able to go ahead by more than just a few points. In the second half the Eagles took over the lead and kept it most of the half. In the final minutes of the game JCD was holding on to a three-point lead and Ris
ing Sun had several chances to tie it up but were unable. JCD's Adam Peetz was fouled in the final seconds and he hit two free-throws to put the Eagles up by 5.

After the first quarter the two teams were tied at 13 apiece. Just three Eagles scored in the first quarter with Einhaus hitting two three-pointers for 6 points, with Chip Schuler and Adam Peetz combining to score the teams other 7 points.

In the second quarter the Eagles were held under double-digits at 9 points while the Shiners nabbed a one-point lead going into halftime. After the first quarter of play Rising Sun was leading 23-22.

Jac-Cen-Del's defense held the Shiners to under 10 points in the third quarter allowing them just 7. The Eagles more than doubled Rising Sun's points with 15 to take a 37-30 lead going into the fourth quarter.
The Shiners battled back in the fourth quarter and managed to stay close by outscoring the Eagles 16-14 in the quarter, but it wasn't enough as they fell in the conference battle.

With the win the Eagles push their winning streak to 8 games and their record to 16-1, keeping them among the leaders in the ORVC race.

Tyler Einhaus led all scorers with 16 points followed by Adam Peetz with 14 and Chip Schuler with 12. Peetz and Einhaus also led the Eagles with 7 rebounds apiece and Einhaus had a team high 4 steals and 5 assists.

The Eagles held the ORVC's leading scorer Curtis Fogle to 12 points in the game, which tied for the Shiners team high with Jesse McClure.

JCD will be going for their ninth straight victory this Friday on the road against Switzerland County. That game is scheduled to start at 6:00 pm.
