Surveys have to be redone at Napoleon
Cathy May - Contributing Writer

After all the work and trouble the Napoleon Town Board members went through to get the Income Surveys for their grant for the Storm Water Project, they just got word they have to do it all over again.

Julie Berry of the Southeastern Regional Planning Commission informed the board that when the new administration took over the Department of Commerce and the Community Focus Fund grants, they didn't like some of the wording on the form, so the process will start all over again. The town board is hoping that a mailing with a self-addressed stamped envelope will get most of the surveys back.

The town received a letter of support, with several pages of pictures of the fire house when it had flooded, for the Storm Water Project. The more letters of support the town receives, the better chances they have of obtaining a grant.

In other business:

· May 2 will be heavy trash pick up.

· Rip rap has been placed along the lagoon. Four more loads are needed.

· A building permit is not required to put up a structure to hide garbage cans. The project will start soon.

· The board decided to use pea gravel on the playground surface. They will have some delivered when the ground dries up.

All three board members - Tim Brancamp, Bill Vankirk and Gerry Linarducci, were present for the meeting. Attorney Larry Eaton and Clerk-Treasurer Karen Rohlfing were present to advise the board. The next meeting will be held on May 11, at 7:00 p.m. at the Napoleon Senior Center.
