Allen Lee Bare
Allen Lee Bare, 88, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at Margaret Mary
Community Hospital in Batesville. He was born January 17, 1917 in Decatur County
the son of William and Hester (Risk) Bare, both deceased.
Survivors include two sons, Denzel (Diana) Bare of St. Omer, Gary (Jennie) Bare
of New Point; two daughters, Sharon (Harold) Coy of Greensburg, Carolyn (Tom)
Laker of New Point; one sister, Ruth Knarr of Westport; ten grandchildren; and
twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Erma Colson,
and one grandson.
Mr. Bare was a life long farmer. He was a member of the New Point Christian Church
and a US Army veteran of WWII serving in Africa and Europe.
Visitation will be held today, Thursday, April 28, 4-6 p.m. at Meyers Funeral
Home in Batesville.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 29, 10 a.m. at the funeral home with
Minister Mark Vice officiating.
Burial will be in the Rossburg Cemetery in New Point. Memorials may go to the
New Point Christian Church or Margaret Mary Hospital Home Health Care.
Charles W. Butte
Charles W. Butte, 90, of Milan, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at his residence.
He was born December 6, 1914 in Ripley County the son of Jesse and Jane (Shelp)
Butte, both deceased. He married Mildred Knowlton in October of 1937 and she
survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Glen (Dixie) Butte of Batesville, Bill Butte
of Pierceville; one daughter, Ruth (Harley) White of Osgood; six grandchildren
and seven great grandchildren. His parents and one sister, Helen Jackson preceded
him in death.
Mr. Butte was a farmer and owner/operator of Butte Trucking since 1937. He attended
the Pierceville United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 28, after 6 p.m. at the Pierceville United
Methodist Church. A memorial service will follow visitation with Pastor Jack
Bible officiating.
Memorials may be sent to Margaret Mary Community Hospice, Pierceville United
Methodist Church, the Operation Support Our Troops or the Milan Fire Department.

Edith Lorene Fagin
Edith Lorene Fagin, (nee McKenzie), 64, of Harrison, Ohio, died Monday, April
25, 2005 at Cincinnati.
Mrs. Fagin was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband Dinnis Fagin; children, Deborah (Timothy) Vest
of Aurora, Tina (Randall) Tobinson of North Bend, Ohio, Ernest (Cassie) Young
III of Cleves, Ohio, Michael (Gayle) Young of Harrison, Ohio and Ricky (Zola)
Young of West Harrison. Also surviving are brothers and sisters, Thomas McKenzie
of Cleves, Ohio, Barbara Lawhorn of Elmwood Place, Ohio, Norman McKenzie of Cleves,
Ohio, Bonnie Rose of Versailles, Charles McKenzie of West Chester, Ohio; 21 grandchildren
and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Sarah Johnson
and her parents, Thomas and Irene (Stacey) McKenzie.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 28 from 5-8 p.m. (fast time) at Jackman
Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, Ohio. Funeral services will be held
Friday, April 29 at 11:00 a.m. (fast time) at the funeral home with Rev. Gary
Zoz officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Grove Cemetery, Cincinnati.
Lowell B. Wells
Lowell B. Wells, 76, of Lawrence, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005 in Indianapolis.
He was born on September 23, 1928 in Dillsboro.
Survivors include his wife Katherine M. (Shorten) Wells; children, Linda Kay
(Ronald) Treat, Colleen Faye Morgan, Richard Lowell "Rick" (Rita) Wells;
one brother, Edward Wells; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He
was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one daughter, Janet Raye
Wells and one great granddaughter, Paige Marie Thompson.
Mr. Wells was the owner of the Wells & Son Heating & Air Company. After
retirement he worked for Indianapolis Public School System as a HVAC Supervisor.
He was a member of the Calvin W. Prather Masonic Lodge #717.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 30, 1:30 p.m. (slow time) at
St. Charles Catholic Cemetery at Milan with Rev. Harris Long officiating. Visitation
will be 12-1 p.m. slow time, at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan.
Memorials may be given to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
Mae Louise Kohlman
Mae Louise Kohlman, 73, of Osgood, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at Hospice Inpatient
Facility, Columbus. She was born June 3, 1931 at Greensburg, the daughter of
Harley and Matilda Kestler Dean, both deceased. She married Albert Kohlman
in 1952 and he preceded her in death on September 11, 1991.
Survivors include four sons, Donald Kohlman of Batesville, Frank Kohlman of Holton,
John Kohlman and Charles Kohlman, both of Osgood; three daughters, Marcie Johannigman
of Osgood, Alberta Schornick of Milan, Annie Reyna of San Antonio, Texas; one
brother, Richard Dean of Kentucky; one sister, Carol Narwold of Batesville; 25
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Kohlman was a member of the St. Maurice Catholic Church in Napoleon and
the Napoleon VFW Auxiliary.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 29, 5-8 p.m. at Neal's Funeral Home, Osgood
with rosary services at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April
30 at St. Maurice Catholic Church, Napoleon at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in
the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the church of the Napoleon VFW.

Hallie Miller
Mrs. Hallie Louise (Williams) Miller passed away on Wednesday, April 20, at Westover
Retirement Community in Hamilton, Ohio. She was 103 years old. She was born
on November 8, 1901, in Olean to Emmett and Louise (Kroeger) Williams.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charlie Miller, a son Don,
and two sisters, Lucille Miller and Ada Freudenstein of Versailles. Survivors
include a son Glenn, daughter-in-law Jane, nine grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren,
and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives in this community include a niece Jane and Jess Westmeyer and family
and a cousin Bill and Esther Gilland. Also former Versailles residents who survive
are a nephew Roger Freudenstein of Hudson, Florida, and a niece Suzanne and Cliff
Giltner of Bright. She also leaves many friends in the area.
A large group of relatives and friends attended her 100th birthday celebration
at Westover in November 2001. She had remained in good health, both physically
and mentally, and was able to share many memories of her life as she grew up
in the Olean and Holton areas.
Hallie was married to Charlie Miller on January 28, 1930, at St. Magdalene's
Catholic Church. In the spring of 1930, Mr. Alexander Thomson, CEO of Champion
Paper Company purchased the Miller's farm, along with several other farms in
the New Marion area, to build a lodge as a retreat for his family and business
associates.
Under the supervision of Charlie Miller, Old Timbers was built, and Charlie and
Hallie Miller became caretakers. With the birth of their two sons Don and Glenn,
Mr. and Mrs. Miller moved into a home the Thomson family built for them near
the lodge.
When the government took over the land for the Jefferson Proving Ground, the
Millers were forced to leave their home and the managing of Old Timbers. Mr.
Miller built a home for the family in Millville, Ohio, where Hallie Miller lived
until she was 99 years of age.
The Millers were one of the founding members of Queen of Peace Catholic Church,
where visitation took place for Hallie Miller from 10:00 till 11:00 a.m. on Saturday,
April 23, and a Christian Mass followed.
Memorials were designated for either the Colonial Foundation of Westover or the
Queen of Peace Building Fund.
Vivian Irene Jackson
Vivian Irene Jackson, 82, of Versailles, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2005
at King's Daughters' Hospital, Madison. She was born April 9, 1923 in Marion,
Illinois, the daughter of Augusta Lee and Helen Rendlemen. She was married
to Robert Guthrie of Kansas City in 1942 and on April 20, 1946 she was united
in marriage to Willard Jackson, who survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Marcia McKenney and husband Randy of Shelbyville;
two sons, Robert L. Guthrie and wife Peggy of Arlington, Tennessee and Danny
Jackson of Versailles; ten grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and two great
great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, baby brother Bobby,
her first husband and one daughter, Pamela.
Mrs. Jackson was a member of the Tanglewood Baptist Church where she served in
various capacities for over 50 years with many of those years as the adult class
Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Jackson was employed at and retired from the Muscatatuck
State Hospital where her rewarding responsibilities included one of resident
caretaker and trainer/instructor.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 29 from 5-8 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter
Funeral Home, Versailles. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 30 at
11a.m. at the Tanglewood Baptist Church with Rev. Becky Pohle officiating. Burial
will follow in the Tanglewood Cemetery, Versailles.

Ida Lucille Franklin
Ida Lucille Franklin, 83, of Osgood, passed away Monday, April 18, 2005 at the
Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. She was born near Delaware on May 7,
1921, the daughter of Joseph and Lilly Mary Shorten Volz. She was married to
James Franklin on June 12, 1938 and he preceded her in death on December 11,
2004.
Survivors include one daughter, Joyce Miller and husband, Ralph of Delaware;
five grandchildren, Jim Miller and wife Bonnie, Jon Miler and Sharon all of Holton,
Sheri Deaton of Vevay, Merri Price of Batesville, and Terri Stein and husband
Michael of Cincinnati and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by
her parents, brother Roy Volz and sister Thelma Steinfort.
Mrs. Franklin attended Osgood High School and was employed with the Southeastern
Indiana REMC in Osgood, retiring in 1985. She was a member of the Osgood United
Methodist Church.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 21 from 5-8 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter
Funeral Home, Versailles. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 22 at 11
a.m. at the Osgood United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Rixman and Rev. Maxine
Rixman officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery, Versailles.

Sr. Frances Kathryn O'Connell, OSF
Sister Frances Kathryn O'Connell, OSF, 90 of Oldenburg, died Sunday, April 10,
2005 at the Sisters of St. Francis Convent, Oldenburg. She was born October
21, 1914 in Indianapolis, the daughter of John Francis O'Connell and Frances
Fern Lowden O'Connell, both deceased.
Survivors include four sisters, Johanna Wilson, Rita Doucleff, Theresa Oakley,
and Agnes Strack, all of Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by two sisters,
Gertrude Godioz and Mildred Gibbons and one brother, John T. O'Connell.
Sister O'Connell entered the convent on October 4, 1933 and made her final vows
on July 2, 1939. She retired to the Motherhouse in 1992. She taught at many schools
throughout Indiana, Ohio and Missouri.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 15, 1-3 p.m. slow time at the Srs. of St.
Francis Motherhouse Chapel, Oldenburg. Funeral services will be held Friday,
April 15, 3 p.m. at the Motherhouse Chapel with Rev. Carl Hawver officiating.
Burial will follow in the St. Francis Cemetery, Oldenburg.
Memorials may be made to the Srs. of St. Francis.

Veronica P. Wuestefeld
Veronica P. Wuestefeld, 91, of Batesville, died Monday, April 11, 2005 at Hospitality
Hall, Batesville. She was born October 4, 1913 in Batesville, the daughter
of George Doll and Veronica (Weigel) Doll, both deceased. She married August
Wuestefeld on September 25, 1937 at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville.
She preceded him in death on July 20, 2000.
Survivors include one daughter, Veronica Fehlinger of Indianapolis; five sons,
David Wuestefeld of Greenfield, Raymond, Alvin and Joseph Wuestefeld all of Batesville,
Eugene Wuestefeld of Greensburg; 22 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Rita Doll, Magdalen Riehle, Alberta
Doll, Agnes Doll and seven brothers, Marcellus, Francis, George, Urban, Aloys,
Anthony, and Matthias Doll.
Mrs. Wuestefeld was a homemaker and a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church,
Batesville.
Funeral services were held today, April 14, 10 a.m. at the St. Louis Catholic
Church, Batesville with Rev. Christiaan Kappes officiating. Burial was in the
St. Louis Cemetery, Batesville.
Memorials may be made to the St. Louis School or to the Batesville EMS 10.

Harold E. Seamon
Harold E. Seamon, 83, of Dillsboro, died Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at the Waters
of Ross Manor in Dillsboro. He was born February 26, 1922 in Kelso Township
the son of Henry Emmert Seamon and Ann Christine Miller, both deceased. He
married Hallie L. Barnard and she survives.
Other survivors include one son, Harold E. Seamon, Jr. of Kokomo; two brothers,
Edward Seamon of Bright, Donald Seamon of Bright; one sister, Gertrude Milton
of Cincinnati, OH; and two grandchildren.
Mr. Seamon was a 1941 graduate of Guilford High School. He was a machinist and
served in the US Navy. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Dillsboro,
Regional Planning Committee, LifeTime Resources Board, Dillsboro 50 Plus and
was an honorary retired member of the Dillsboro Volunteer Fire Department. He
was also the recipient of the Sagamore of the Wabash Award.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 15, 5-8 p.m. EDT at Ulrich Filter Funeral
Home in Dillsboro.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 16 at 11 a.m. EDT at St. Peter's
Lutheran Church in Dillsboro.
Burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery in Dillsboro. Memorials may go to St.
Peter's Lutheran Church or Dillsboro Volunteer Fire Department.
Maralou Reid
Maralou Reid, 80, of Versailles, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at the Dearborn
County Hospital in Lawrenceburg. She was born at Bedford, Indiana on August
9, 1924 the daughter of Marion and Margaret Simeon Shackelford. She was married
to Philip Reid and he preceded her in death in 1996. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, John Reid of Versailles; one grandson, Max Geller;
and one son-in-law, Steven Geller of Indianapolis. Besides her husband she was
preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Martha Geller.
Visitation will be held today, Thursday, April 14, 1 p.m. until time of services
at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
Funeral services will follow visitation at the funeral home at 3 p.m. with Brother
Dale Day officiating.
Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery at Versailles. Memorials may be given
to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.

Dixie I. Kirk
Dixie I. Kirk, 64, of Madison, died Monday, April 4, 2005 at King's Daughters'
Hospital, Madison. She was born May 9, 1940 in Carlisle, Indiana the daughter
of Titus Eugene and Thelma Ruth Mollett Morrison, both deceased. She married
Robert E. Kirk on November 17, 1955 and he survives.
Other survivors include six sons, Robert Kirk, Jr. of Rome, GA, Rick Kirk of
Judson, Steve Kirk of Valparaiso, Gary Kirk of Myrtle Beach, NC, Randy Kirk
of Dillsboro, Gilbert Kirk of Butlerville; two daughters, Cheryl Moore of Slaughters,
KY, Vicki Taylor of Madison; two brothers, Titus Morrison, Jr. of Linton, Clyde
Morrison of Rockport; three sisters, Mary Ruth of Oaktown, Nancy Clark of Linton,
Brenda Morrison of Swiss City and 17 grandchildren. One sister preceded her
in death.
Mrs. Kirk was a homemaker and a member of the Apostolic Church in Greensburg.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 7 from 1-2 p.m. at the Bethel Apostolic
Church. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the church with Rev. Eston
Polling officiating. Burial will be in the South Park Cemetery, Greensburg.

Raymond Dunn
Charles Raymond "Ray" Dunn, 78, of Brookville, Ohio, passed away
Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at Clermont Nursing Care Center in Milford, Ohio.
He was born near Dalton, Georgia on May 3, 1926 the son of Bess Dunn and Augustus
Fite "Judge" Dunn. He married to Virginia (Myers) Dunn and she preceded
him in death in 1993.
Survivors include his mother, Virginia Dunn of Milford, Ohio; daughter and
son-in-law Denise (Allan) Boyack of Pennsylvania; son and daughter-in-law Gregory
(Suzanne) Dunn of Fort Myers, Florida; grandchildren, Hans and Erica Geisterfer,
Brandon and Jeffery Dunn and Jennifer, Travis and Matthew Dunn; brothers and
sisters-in-law, Jerry (Gloria) Dunn of Milford, Gene (Aileen) Dunn of Filmore;
brother-in-law, Wilbur Myers of Holton; and numerous family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by one son, Stephen Lee Dunn in 2003; one brother,
Donald Dunn in 1997 and father, Augustus Dunn in 1981.
Mr. Dunn served in the US Army Air Corps as a B-17 pilot in training during
WWII. He retired from NCR's Display & Exhibits Department in 1989 after
33 years of service. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Fishing
Fools.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 1, at 2 p.m. at the Kindred Funeral
Home with Chaplain Hal Copley officiating in Englewood. Burial with military
honors followed the funeral service at the Royal Oak Memorial Gardens.
