RCCF grants announced

The Ripley County Community Foundation is pleased to announce the grant awards for the second cycle of small project grants. Available funds to grant to the community come from the Ripley County Community Foundation Community Granting Fund. The foundation has set aside $20,000 to fund small projects of $500 or less for 2005.

Those receiving funding this cycle include:

· Delaware Volunteer Fire Department, $450 for new nomex hoods.

· Golden Gate Community Choir, $500 for music.

· Kenneth L. Diver Post 337 American Legion Post, $500 for refrigerator.

· Milan Elementary School, $250 for Destination Imagination
Global Finals registration.

· Milan Middle School, $250 for Destination Imagination Global Finals registration.

· Morris Volunteer Fire Association, $500 for fire prevention materials and centralized electronic data storage/communications.

· Reward Riding Program, $494 for a youth saddle and blanket.

· Salvation Army, $500 for Tools for Schools.

· Sunman Area Chamber of Commerce, $500 for Wine & Fireworks Festival.

· Sunman Beautification, $500 for benches and flower pots.

· Sunman Rural Fire Department, $500 for fire prevention project.

· WeeCare Preschool/Daycare for playground equipment.
There are two more cycles for small grants this year. Deadlines are July 1, and September 1, for small grants.

RCCF will hold mandatory Grantwriting Workshops for any non-profit wanting to apply to the Foundation in the larger Fall Granting Cycle. These workshops are being held August 1, at the Southeastern Career Center, at 9:00 a.m. and the Town Hall of Sunman, August 4, at 1:00 p.m. Non-profits must attend if they wish to submit an Intent to Apply with the foundation. Intent to Apply forms are due August 18.
