Daniel Leonetti hit a home run and had four RBI's in the Eagles' win over the Milan Indians.

The Jac-Cen-Del Varsity baseball team used three pitchers to throw a no hitter against the Cougars at South Decatur on May 17. The Eagles scored two runs in the first and added five more in the second. Jac-Cen-Del scored a run in the third and tacked on two in the fourth and fifth innings.

The Eagles won the game by a score of 12-0. Brandon Gehl was the starting and winning pitcher. He threw two innings with three strikeouts and Adam Vollmer threw an inning with one strikeout. Adam Peetz, Kyle Horan, and Daniel Leonetti were all 1-2. Peetz had two RBI's and scored a run. Horan knocked in a run and scored two, and Leonetti had an RBI. The Eagles are now 13-5 on the season.

JCD vs. Milan Indians

On May 18 the team defeated the Milan Indians at home. Milan scored four runs in the first. The Eagles cut into the lead scoring three runs in the bottom of the inning. Then the flood gates opened in the second when the Eagles erupted for a fourteen run second inning. The Eagles then cooled off only scoring five runs in the third. The Indians added a run in the fourth for a final scored of 22-5.

Chip Schuler had a home run, three RBI's and scored three runs. Tyler Bradshaw also hit a home run down the left field line with two RBI's and crossed the plate three times. Daniel Leonetti was the third and final Eagle to homer, going 2-4 with 4 RBI's. Adam Peetz and Kyle Horan were both 3-3 and scored 3 runs. Peetz was the winning pitcher giving up four runs and two strikeouts in two innings.

JCD at Morristown Tourney

On the weekend of May 20 and 21 the team traveled up to Morristown to compete in the Morristown Tourney. The tourney included Oldenburg, Heritage Christian, and Morristown. The tournament was round robin format in which every team played each other.

The Eagles drew Oldenburg in the first game. The Twisters scored a run in the top of the first while the Eagles scored three in the bottom of the first. Oldenburg cut into the lead with a run in the second. Jac-Cen-Del scored two more in the fourth. Oldenburg scored one more in the sixth and the Eagles scored five in their half of the sixth inning for a 10-3 win.

Adam Peetz pitched a complete game and was the winning pitcher, giving up three runs, all earned. Adam Vollmer, Blake Billman, and Adam Peetz were all 2-4. Peetz and Billman each had two RBI's.

The Eagles then played the host school, the Morristown Yellow Jackets. Jac-Cen-Del scored two runs in the second. Morristown scored one in the fourth. The Eagles then erupted for a nine run fourth inning and a final score of 11-1. Tyler Bradshaw had nine strikeouts and pitched five innings to pick up the win. Bryan Schwanholt was 2-2 with two RBI's and three runs scored. Kyle Horan was 2-3 and also had 2 RBI's and 2 runs scored.
In the final game the Eagles played Heritage Christian on the morning of May 21. The Heritage Christian Eagles scored one run in the first. Jac-Cen-Del scored a run in the fifth. Heritage Christian answered back with a run of their own in the bottom of the fifth. Heritage Christian added two more in the sixth. The Jac-Cen-Del Eagles tried to tie it up in the seventh scoring two runs, but fell short for a 4-3 loss.

Brandon Gehl was the losing pitcher throwing six innings giving up four runs, three earned. Chip Schuler was 3-4 and scored twice and Tyler Bradshaw was 2-4. The Eagles are now 16-6 on the season.

JCD vs. North Decatur Chargers

On May 23 the Jac-Cen-Del baseball team faced the Chargers of North Decatur at home. The Eagles scored two runs in the third and tacked on seven more in the fourth inning. Chargers finally put a run on the board in the fifth, but the Eagles scored two in their half of the fifth to pick up the win 11-1.

Adam Vollmer was 2-3 with three runs scored and an RBI. Justin Huff picked up the win by only giving up one run off four hits in five innings. Huff also had two RBI's and was 3-3. The Eagles are now 17-6 on the season.

Raiders split series with Lawrenceburg

In a preview to sectional, the Raiders and Tigers squared off Saturday, May 21 in a much anticipated double-header. Lawrenceurg came into Saturday's contest with only 3 losses on the season. The first game featured sophomore Cory Yeomans on the mound for the Raiders. Both teams played excellent defense and after 5 innings the score stood at 2-0 Tigers.

In the bottom of the sixth inning Russ Steinhauer worked a one out walk. Michael Fear then singled to put runners on the corners. Senior Tyler Ester doubled to score the first run for the Raiders and keep men on the corners. Josh Cumberworth walked to load the bases. Yeomans came through with a double to tie the score, but Ester was thrown out at the plate trying to score the go-ahead run. Israel Burkett hit a slow roller to shortstop and reached safely when the throw was high, allowing Cumberworth to score giving the Raiders a 3-2 lead.

Tyler Ester who had came in to relieve Yeomans in the sixth inning for the Raiders worked a perfect seventh to record the win.
Yeomans pitched 5 1/3 innings recording 11 strikeouts. Ester pitched the last 1 2/3 innings. Hitting leaders for the game include Fear going 2-3, Ester going 1-3 with an RBI, Cumberworth going 1-2, and Yeomans hitting 1-3 with an RBI.

In the second game the Tigers defeated the Raiders 12-8 in an error plagued game. Lawrenceburg started by hitting 2 home runs and scoring five runs in the first inning.

The Raiders responded with 3 runs in the second when Josh Cumberworth singled, Jacob Lemon walked, Russ Steinhauer singled, and Tim Burcham doubled.

With the Tigers leading 6-3 the Raiders scored two more in the fourth on a walk to Steinhauer, double by Burcham, walk to Michael Fear, and home run by Tyler Ester to take the lead 7-6.

The Tigers plated two runs in the fifth to regain the lead and a couple of Raider errors made the final score 12-8.

Hitting leaders for the game include Steinhauer going 2-3 with a home run, Ester going 1-4 with a home run and 2 RBI's, Cumberworth hit 2-4, Burcham went 3-3 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI's.
