Asbel Ritchie
Asbel Ritchie, 88, of Williamson, Georgia, formerly of Canaan, died Sunday, June 26, 2005 at Spalding Regional Medical Center, Griffin, GA. He was born October 7, 1916 in Dwarf, KY, the son of Abijah Ritchie and Flora Mae Combs, both deceased. He married Marie (Owens) Ritchie and she preceded him in death on March 31, 2002.
Survivors include three daughters, Phyllis C. Goolsby of Griffin, GA, Norma L. Tuttle of Canaan, Eva M. Steadman of Carrollton, GA.; four sons, Vernon U. Ritchie of Griffin, GA, Kenneth A. Ritchie of Canaan, Wayne C. Ritchie of Seattle, WA, Ronald I. Ritchie of Atlanta, GA; one sister, Mollie Haskins of Florida; one sister-in-law, Lucinda Ritchie of Milan; 14 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Ritchie retired from Seagram's Distillery in Lawrenceburg after 30 years of service. He attended the Indian-Kentuck Baptist Church, Canaan.
Graveside services will be held Friday, July 1, at 1 p.m. at the Canaan Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Asbel Ritchie Memorial Fund in care of the Lytle Funeral Chapel, Madison.

Thomas W. McHugh
Thomas W. "Abe" McHugh, 91, of Cincinnati, died Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at Northgate Park Retirement Home, Cincinnati. He was born July 14, 1913 in Cincinnati, the son of William McHugh and Caroline McHugh, both deceased. He married Rose (Wissel) McHugh on January 5, 1957 at Annunciation Church in Cincinnati and she preceded him in death on August 26, 1994.
Survivors include brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl and Joan Wissel, Herman Wissel, all of Batesville, Paul and Lois Wissel of Oldenburg, and Florence Kruezman of Batesville.
Mr. McHugh was a member of the St. Louis Church, Batesville. He was a saloon owner for 35 years, retiring in 1985.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 1, 9-9:45 a.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, Batesville. Funeral services will be held Friday, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Daniel Mahan officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Louis Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Oddessy Hospice of Cincinnati.

Betty C. Halverson
Betty C. Halverson, 67, of Batesville, died Monday, June 20, 2005 at the Hospice of Cincinnati Western Hills, Cincinnati. She was born January 17, 1938 in Ector County, Texas, the daughter of Thomas U. Conduff and Amy (Tannehill) Conduff.
Survivors include her mother, Amy (Tannehill) Conduff of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; one daughter, Teri Flannery of Batesville; one son, Douglas Halverson of Mannford, Oklahoma; three sisters, Sandy Reeves, Peggy Howland, Kathy Townsend and six brothers, Ben Conduff, Wheeler "Pete" Conduff, Jerry Conduff, Gary Conduff, Leroy Conduff, and Leon Conduff.
Mrs. Halverson worked in the accounting and payroll department at American Airlines for 20 years before retiring in 2000. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Batesville Ward.
Funeral services will be held this evening, June 23, 7 p.m. slow time at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Batesville Ward with Bishop Marshall Dahneke officiating. Burial will be in the Park Grove Cemetery, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Georgia E. (Asche) Wyatt
Georgia E. (Asche) Wyatt, 96, of Milan, died Monday, June 13, 2005 at the Dearborn County Hospital, Lawrenceburg. She was born July 24, 1908 near Milan (Delaware) the daughter of Stephen and Martha Lu (Starkey) Schmaltz, both deceased. She married Phillip Asche, Joe Huff and later Mack Wyatt.
Survivors include one son, Elmer Asche of Sterling, Ohio; two daughters, Ginny (Kenneth) Bergman of Milan, Marty (Bill) Hower of Lodi, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Lucy Asche of Sterling, Ohio; stepchildren, Mack Wyatt of Burbank, Ohio, L.C. Wyatt of Rittman, Ohio, Mike Wyatt of Wadsworth, Ohio, Pam Bourgeous of Ripley, West Virginia; half brother, Steve Schmaltz of Lake Crystal, Florida; half sister, Helen Jenike of Columbus, Ohio; 14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Virgil Asche, granddaughter, Glenna Asche Young; sisters, Carrie Crum and Daisey Asche and brothers, Frank and Henry Schmaltz.
Mrs. Wyatt was a homemaker and a member of the Sterling, Ohio Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 17, 11 a.m. at the Gillman Funeral Home in Rittman, Ohio with Rev. Timothy Kim officiating. Burial will be held at the Rittman Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Milan Rescue 30.

Bert Baltus
Bert Baltus, 69, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at his residence. He was born November 3, 1935 in Mederia, Ohio, the son of Pieter Josef and Myrtle (Wilson) Baltus. He married Frances I. Baltus in Greensburg on September 29, 1957 and she survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Byron Baltus and wife Pam, Rob Baltus and wife Tina, all of Greensburg; three grandchildren; one great granddaughter; two sisters, Geneva Moffat of Plant City, Florida, Alice Silver of Evansville and three brothers, Joseph Frank Baltus and wife Janet of Greensburg, William R. Baltus and wife Mary B. of Columbus, and Ronald Grace and wife Cyndi of Monticello. His parents preceded him in death.
Mr. Baltus was a 1953 graduate of Sandcreek High School. He was the owner of Baltus Electronics and retired from Cummins Engine Company in 1969 after 17 years of service. He was a member of the Mt. Aerie Baptist Church, the Decatur County Amateur Radio Association, Decatur County Emergency Management Agency. He was associated with the Letts Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He received the Ray Bentley Fire Service award from the Decatur County Firemen's Association in 1998.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 9, 4-8 p.m. at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home at Westport. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 10 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. David A. Scaggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Aerie Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Letts Volunteer Fire Department or to the Hospice of South Central Indiana through the funeral home.

David Leroy Davison
David Leroy Davison, 85, of Nashville, passed away Friday, June 3, 2005 at Brown County Health and Living Community. He was born March 31, 1920 in Flint, the son of William Oliver and Lela Vay (Tibbits) Davison. He married Ella V. Douglas on May 26, 1939 in Flint. He later married Stella M. Hawkins on January 14, 1984 and then moved to Spring Hill, Florida and later to Nashville, Indiana.
Survivors include his wife, one daughter, Sharron Bennett and husband Jerry of Durand, Michigan; one son, Bill Davison and wife Susan of Versailles; one stepson, Mike Hawkins and wife Sue of Morgantown; 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Mr. Davison was a WWII veteran serving in the 32nd Calvary Recon Squad of the 3rd Army in Germany. He served in the reserves for six years. He was employed by AC Spark Plug, US Post Office in Fling, Ternstedt Division on Coldwater Road and retired from Audit Staff of Fisher Body Tech Center in Warren, Michigan in 1980. He then moved to Mio, Michigan and Holiday, Florida where his wife of 44 years, Ella, passed away.
Mr. Davison loved to play baseball, slowpitch softball, square dancing, bowling, golfing. He also pitched horseshoes and loved to play cards. He was a member of the American Legion of Mio, Michigan and a Moose in Spring Hill, Florida.
A memorial service will be held at the Christ United Methodist Church in Burton with burial in the Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint, Michigan on Saturday, June 18, 10 a.m.
The family requests no flowers but please make donations to Hospice of South Central Indiana or the American Cancer Society.

Mildred M. Werner
Mildred M. Werner, 88, of Holton, died Monday, June 6, 2005 at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital, North Vernon. She was born March 13, 1917 in Holton, the daughter of Robert Edwin Cole and Mayme May Edmund Cole, both deceased.
Survivors include one son, Frank Gilley of Versailles; two daughters, Sheila Booth of North Vernon and Sherry Wade of Kansas; one sister, Adah Ehlers of Versailles; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. One brother, Omer L. Cole preceded her in death.
Mrs. Werner was a graduate of Holton High School, Oakland City College and earned a Master's Degree from Ball State University. She was an elementary teacher for 20 years. She was a member of the Versailles Christian Church.
Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, June 9, 11 a.m., at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home, North Vernon, with Brother Dale Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Grandview Memorial Gardens, Madison.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Jennings County.

Nita French, formerly of Milan passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2005, at the Margaret Mary Community Hospital, Batesville.
Services are pending at the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan.

William Henry Smith
William Henry Smith, 76, of Friendship, died Sunday, June 5, 2005 at his residence. He was born April 13, 1929 in Friendship, the son of Alexander William Smith and Mary Lucinda Colvin, both deceased. He married Della Mae Watts and she survives.
Other survivors include four sons, Michael W. Smith of Friendship, Glen W. Smith and wife Judy of Batesville, Kenneth D. Smith and wife Andrea of Friendship, Philip L. Smith and fiancÈe Jennifer Collins of Versailles; one daughter, Belinda K. Harris and husband Robert of Oak Lawn, Illinois; one sister, Mary Lou Hughes of Dillsboro and seven grandchildren.
Mr. Smith was a 1947 graduate of Cross Plains High School, a retired member of the Friendship Volunteer Fire Department, president of Friendship Akers Cemetery and a US Army Veteran. He was also a farmer.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 8, 10:30 a.m. at the Bear Creek Baptist Church, Friendship. Burial followed in the Friendship Akers Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Bear Creek Baptist Church.

Kenneth Bush
Kenneth Bush, 80, of Middletown, Ohio, formerly of Holton, passed away, Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at the Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Wolfe County, Kentucky on April 10, 1925, the son of William and Dolly Bush. He was married to Shirley Allee on April 15, 1971 and she survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Kenny Bush, Jr., of Rexville, Ernest Wade Bush of Rexville; daughters, Rita Scroggins and Darla Rousch both of Madison, Jessee Meece of Mason, Ohio and Judy Walston of Versailles; eighteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Tom Bush of St. Leon and Glen Bush of Holton. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Bush and one sister.
Mr. Bush was a railroad worker for Queen City Construction for 30 years.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 3, at 3 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Visitation will be Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in the Otter Creek Cemetery in Nebraska.

Rena Loiuse Moore
Rena Louise Moore, 85, of Osgood, died May 25, 2005 at Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. She was born August 16, 1919 at Lone Rock, Wisconsin, the daughter of Buford Elmer and Inez Simpson Moore. She married Walter L. Moore on January 14, 1938 at Madison, Wisconsin and he preceded her in death in August 1993.
Survivors include two sons, Fredric L. Moore and wife Sharon of Aurora, Illinois, Carl E. Moore and wife Janet of Osgood; nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and one sister, Margarette Ledford of Madison, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by one sister, Inez Thompson.
Mrs. Moore was a homemaker. She was a member of the Osgood United Methodist Church, a volunteer worker at Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood for 20 years and a volunteer teacher's aid at Jac-Cen-Del Elementary for four years.
A private memorial service will be held in the future for the family.
