Carl Henson, Jr.
Carl Henson, Jr., 38, of Columbus, Ohio, died Friday, July 22, 2005 in Columbus, Ohio. He was born July 25, 1956 in Lawrenceburg, the son of Shirley A. Bowling Henson and Carl Henson, Sr.
Survivors include his mother, Shirley A. Henson of Sunman; daughter, son and their mother, Erika Sue Henson, Christopher Carl Henson and Dawn Henson all of COlumbus; one brother, Jeff Hanson of Sunman and many aunts, uncles and other relatives.
Mr. Henson worked in construction as a roofer.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 26, 1-3:30 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, Sunman. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Gregory Bramlage and Rev. Dan Steffen officiating. Burial will be in the St. Paul Cemetery.

Harrison N. Rogers
Harrison N. Rogers, 75, of Moores Hill, died Saturday, July 23, 2005 at his residence. He was born May 1, 1930 in Madison County, Kentucky, the son of William and Ida (Nunn) Rogers. He married Lue Cinda (Barrett) Rogers on December 1, 1986 and she survives.
Other survivors includes three sons, Harrison Kenneth (Tomoka) Rogers of Japan, Shannon (Amber) Rogers of Sunman, Philip Carter (Marie) Rogers of Lebanon, Ohio; four daughters, Donna (Stanley) Kliener of Harrison, Ohio, Connie (Clifford) Roark of McKee, Kentucky, Linda (Manus) McKeehan of Fairbanks, Alaska, Shirley (Clyde) Bush of Loveland, Ohio; one brother, Arlan Rogers of Mason, Ohio; one sister, Margaret Harp of Pomona, California; 22 grandchildren; 27 greatgrandchildren and one great -great grandchild. He was preceded in death by one son, Gene Rogers and one daughter, Barbara Rogers.
Mr. Rogers was a construction worker for Jesse Barrett and a former employee of the US Shoe at Osgood. He was a US Army veteran.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 27, 11-1 p.m (fast time) at the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 27, 1 p.m. (fast time at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan, with military services by the Moores Hill American Legion. Burial will be in the Pilor Know Cemetery, Berea, Kentucky.

John Robert Suratt
John Robert Suratt, 82, of Greensburg, died Thursday, July 21, 2005 at the Heritage House Nursing Home in Greensburg. He was born May 9, 1923 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the son of John Robert and Madge (Smith) Suratt, Sr. He married Alice J. Davis on March 28, 1942 and she survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Robbie (Danny) Evans of Osgood, Alice Anne (Robert Dalen) Hogue of Indianapolis; one sister, Willie Anne Morris of Mission, Texas; one nephew, Michael Morris of Ventura, CA; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. His parents preceded him in death.
Mr. Suratt was a retired milkman for Meadow Gold. He was a former owner of dairies in Greensburg, Osgood and Columbus. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and was a former member of the Tree City Saddle Club and the Elks Club.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 28, from 12-2 p.m. at the Porter-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 28, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Pete Levi officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Decatur County Hospice.

Mary Frances
Marksberry Henman

Mary Frances Marksberry Henman, 92, of Versailles, died Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at Hospice of South Central Indiana, Columbus. She was born January 19, 1913 in Landing, Kentucky. She married Robert Wilson Henman on March 10, 1942 and he survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Carl Dale Henman and wife Karen of Terre Haute, Gary Wayne Henman of Chicago, IL; two grandchildren; one sister, Myrtle Conrad of Erlanger, Kentucky and several nieces and nephews. Her parents, one sister, Helena Judy and three brothers, Russell, Howard, and Robert Marksberry preceded her in death.
Mrs. Henman worked as a beautician for many years. She was formerly employed at the old Crosley Radio Factory in Cincinnati, the Automatic Screw Company in Defiance, Ohio, the Wright Manufacturing and United Express in Cincinnati. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Madison and a member of the TOPS in Madison for over 25 years.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 23, 11 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church, Madison, with Rev. Jon Pearce officiating. Burial was in the Grandview Memorial Gardens, Madison.
Memorials may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church.

Mary Rose Durkin
Mary Rose Durkin, 79, of Batesville, died Wednesday, July 20, 2005. She was born December 29, 1925 in Cincinnati, the daughter of Edward Overberg and Agnes Wessel Overberg, both deceased. She married William Durkin on May 2, 1953 at St. Frances de Sales Church in Cincinnati and he preceded her in death on December 10, 2001.
Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Ahaus of New Alsace, Michelle Durkin of Greenwood; two sons, Patrick Durkin of West Chester, Ohio, Patrick Durkin of Minneapolis, MN; two sisters, Joan Wurtz of Cincinnati, Janet Myers of Cincinnati; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. Two brothers, Edward and Robert Overberg preceded her in death.
Mrs. Durkin was a registered nurse and a member of the St. Louis Church, Batesville.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 23, 12 noon, at Holy Family Church in Oldenburg with Rev. John Turnbull officiating. Burial was in the St. Louis Cemetery, Batesville.
Memorials may be made to Vistas Hospice of Ft. Hamilton Hughes Hospital or Phi Beta Psi.

Race David Wilburn
Race David Wilburn, stillborn, died Thursday, July 21, 2005 at Dearborn County Hospital, Lawrenceburg. He was born the son of Adrian and Dennise Roark Wilburn of Milan.
He is survived by two brothers, Tyler and Zackary Wilburn of Milan; grandparents, Dennis and Lora Roark of Dillsboro, Carlyn Wilburn of Versailles and Charles Wilburn of Milan.
Private funeral services were held.
Arrangements were handled by Neal's Funeral Home, Osgood.

Robert P. Gibbs
Robert P. Gibbs, 78, of Peppertown, died Friday, July 22, 2005, at the Waters of Batesville. He was born January 11, 1927 in London, Kentucky, the son of Otto and Martha Bishop Gibbs, both deceased. He married Bessie Marie Bledsoe and she preceded him in death on August 24, 2004.
Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Metcalf of Brookville, Teresa Gibbs and Jeanette Werner, both of Peppertown; six sons, Fred Gibbs of Kileen, Texas, Lester Gibbs of Brookville, Robert Gibbs, Jr. and Tony Gibbs, both of Peppertown, Wayne Gibbs and Randy Gibbs, both of Batesville; 18 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and four sisters and one brother.
His parents, wife and several sisters and brothers, preceded him in death.
Mr. Gibbs was a member of the Elm Grove Baptist Church of Metamora. He was retired from Hill-Rom Industries of Batesville.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 26, 11-1 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, Brookville. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Randy Edwards officiating. Burial will be in the Peppertown Cemetery.

Sr, Adriana Lentz, OSF
Sr. Adriana Lentz, OSF, 91, of Oldenburg, died Saturday, July 23, 2005 at Srs. of St. Francis Convent, Oldenburg. She was born January 20, 1914 in Hamilton, Ohio, the daughter of Andrew J. Lentz and Johanne M. Ruhe Lentz, both deceased.
Survivors include dear friend, Lani Doyle of Cincinnati and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Russell, Willard, Adrian Lentz; three stepbrothers, Andrew, George and Clarence Lentz and three stepsisters, Henrietta Ridgeway, Marie Wopperer and Hilda Weik.
Sister Lentz was a teacher and principal for numerous schools in Ohio and Indiana. She also worked at St. Anthony's Messenger in Cincinnati. She entered the convent on December 30, 1932 and made her final vows on July 2, 1938. She retired to the Motherhouse in 1996.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 25 at 11 a.m. at the Sisters of St. Francis Motherhouse Chapel with Rev. Carl Hawver officiating. Burial was in the St. Francis Cemetery, Oldenburg.
Memorials may be made to the Srs. of St. Francis Convent.

Twilah A. Criswell
Twilah A. Criswell, 65, of Butlerville, died Saturday, July 23, 2005 at Hospice Inpatient Facility. She was born February 6, 1940 in Jennings County, the daughter of EJ Tucker and Gertrude (Holcomb) Tucker. She married David E. Criswell on August 20, 1956 at Lawrenceburg and he preceded her in death on December 12, 2004.
Survivors include his mother, Gertrude (Holcomb) Tucker of Butlerville; five daughters, Melody Kay Body of North Vernon, Harmonie Lynn Rosenbalm of Columbus, April Dawn Plumlee of North Vernon, Angela Redicker, of Butlerville, Jewel Ann Yeager of North Vernon; two brothers, Denver Tucker of California, Jon Tucker of Madison; one sister, Kathleen Sprinkle of Bloomington; 15 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and father.
Mrs. Criswell owned and operated a Christmas tree farm. She was a member of the Columbia Extension Homemakers Club. She was a homemaker.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 27, from 4-8 p.m. and 10 a.m. until the time of services at the Union Flat Rock Baptist Church. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jack Suit officiating. Burial will be in the Union Flat Rock Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Southeast Baptist Youth Camp or the Hospice of Jennings County.

Donald Ray Wittmer
Donald Ray Wittmer, 67, of Shelbyville, died Saturday, July 16, 2005 at Regency Place, Greenfield. He was born June 15, 1938 in Evansville, the son of Harry Donald Wittmer and Helen Wolfe, both deceased
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Laura) Freese of Batesville, Laurene Wittmer of North Vernon; one brother, Charles (Miki) Wittmer of Chicago, Illinois and one sister, Mrs. Norb (Mary Ellen) Hartman of Fairfield, Ohio. His parents preceded him in death.
Mr. Wittmer was employed with the City of Shelbyville Waste Treatment Plant, retiring in 1998. Prior to that he was a teacher in Lawrenceburg, Holton, Jac-Cen-Del, Osgood, South Ripley and in Chicago. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Sigma Phi Epsiton. He received his master's degree from Indiana University and a BA from the University of Evansville.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 19, 5- 7 p.m. at the Freeman Family Funeral Home, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Pastor John Swain presided at the graveside.

Dorothy L. Moberly
Dorothy L. Moberly, 85, of Shelbyville, died Thursday, July 14, 2005 at Waldron Health Care Center, Waldron, Indiana. She was born January 13, 1920, the daughter of John Bennett and Grace Alley. She married Oris E. Moberly on December 9, 1939 and he survives.
Others survivors include one son, Larry E. Moberly of Cape Coral, Florida; one sister, Katherine Zell of Shelbyville and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Carl Bennett, Robert Bennett, Raymond Bennett and one sister, Martha Schuneman.
Mrs. Moberly was a homemaker.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 16 at the Carmony-Ewing Broadway Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Harvey Weaver officiating. Burial was in the Forest Hill Cemetery.

Everett Tyra
Everett Tyra, 95, of Cincinnati, formerly of Cross Plains and Canaan, died Thursday, July 14, 2005 at his residence. He was born August 27, 1909 in Wolfe County, Kentucky, the son of General Tyra and Clara Van Cleve. He married Daisy (Wood) Tyra on December 13, 1944 and she preceded him in death on October 1, 2004.
Survivors include one son, Paul Tyra and wife Darlene Joyce of Cincinnati; one grandson, Todd Everett Tyra and wife Krista of Cincinnati; two great granddaughters, Halley and Erin Tyra of Cincinnati and nieces and nephews. His parents, wife and one sister, Edna Clem preceded him in death.
Mr. Tyra was a retired farmer and had also worked as an ironworker for the McGraw Construction Company in Middleton, Ohio. He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 18, 1 p.m. at the Bear Creek Baptist Church, Friendship with Rev. Sherman Hughes officiating. Burial was in the Cross Plains Methodist Cemetery.

Janet Lee Bonnlander
Janet Lee Bonnlander, 69, of Milan, died Friday, July 15, 2005 at the Waters Health Care at Dillsboro. She was born October 25, 1935 in Wyoming, Ohio, the daughter of Bernard and Margaret (Anderson) Bruns. She married Ronald Bonnlander on July 12, 1952 and he survives.
Other survivors include one son, Thomas A. (Teresa) Bonnlander of Moores Hill; five brothers, Gene Bruns of Milan, Bill Bruns of Milan, Robert Bruns of Moores Hill, Thomas Bruns of Milan, Gary Bruns of Milan; one sister, Patricia Bonnlander of Bright; three grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Mrs. Bonnlander was a former employee of the Milan Health Care and a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 18, 11 a.m. at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan with Father Frank Eckstein officiating. Burial was in the New Craven Cemetery, Milan.

Marjorie H. Furnish
Marjorie H. (Dunning) Furnish, 87, of Vevay, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2005 at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born in Streator, Illinois the daughter of Carl Dunning and Leo (Roberts) Dunning. She married Oliver Edward Furnish on June 15, 1935 in Patriot and he preceded her in death on January 25, 1996.
Survivors include two sons Jerry and wife Peggy Furnish of Versailles, Gareth and wife Mary Lou Furnish of Vevay; two daughters, Karen and husband Jestin Lewis of Reading, Ohio, Eileen and husband Noel Houze of Aurora; ten grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Also surviving are her very special friend, Harold Ford of Vevay and two sisters-in-law, Fredia Peters of Kissimmee, Florida and Hazel Furnish of Madison.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, Cecil Dunning; and two grandsons, Monty Steven Furnish and Vincent Hal Furnish.
Mrs. Furnish was employed with US Shoe in Vevay for 30 years before retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Center Square Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 18, 3 p.m. at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, Vevay with Rev. Gary Shepherd officiating. Burial was in the Vevay Cemetery.

Patricia A. Beal
Patricia A. Beal, 43, of Batesville, died Thursday, July 15, 2005 at Mercy-Franciscan Hospice, Western Hills, Cincinnati. She was born October 16, 1961 in Cincinnati, the daughter of Jack and Helen Coulter Watts.
Survivors include her mother, Helen Watts of Batesville; two daughters, Ali Beal of Raleigh, NC, Samantha Beal of Falmouth, KY; two sons, Jamey and wife Nikki Beal of Batesville and Jack Beal of Batesville; two grandchildren; two sisters, Penny Hope of Hamburg and Pam Bergeria of Miami, FL., and one brother, Jack Watts of Laurel. Also surviving is extended family James Hauck of Batesville and Jason Hauck of Houston, TX.
Miss Beal was a marketing research engineer for Cunningham Research.
A service of remembrance was held Sunday, July 17 at the family's residence in Batesville.

Robert C. Voris
Robert C. Voris, 74, of Indianapolis, passed away, Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove. He was born October 21, 1930 in Cross Plains, the son of William and Flo (Lemen) Voris.
He was a retired utility contractor and an army veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Englewood Masonic Lodge #715, F&AM, the Murat Shrine Club, the Scottish Rite, and the American Legion Post #335.
Survivors include his wife Carolyn (Hutson) Voris of Indianapolis; two sons, Bryan Voris of Columbus, Ohio, Craig Voris of Homecroft; one grandson and one sister, Margaret Wilson of Batesville.
Services were held Sunday, July 17 at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood. Burial was in the Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with military graveside rites conducted.

Robert M. Lane
Robert M. Lane, 62, of Indianapolis, died Friday, July 15, 2005. He was born November 11, 1942 the son of Howard and Kathleen Marsh Lane. He married Becky (Sare) Lane and she survives.
Other survivors include one son, Dan Lane; one daughter, Holly Karl; one stepdaughter, Angela Mendenhall; one stepson, Greg Sylvester; seven grandchildren; one sister, Cheryl Welch and nephews, Bryan and Alan Welch.
Mr. Lane retired from Thomson Consumer Products where he was regional sales representative for 35 years. He was a member of the Optimist Club, Back Country Hoosier Horsemen and Lawrence United Methodist Church, where he was a choir member and a member of the men's breakfast club.
Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, July 19, 10 a.m. at Lawrence United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Roland Mehlberth
Roland "Sonny" Mehlberth, 76, of Batesville, died Thursday, July 14, 2005 at his residence. He was born July 13, 1929 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Roland M. Mehlberth, Sr., and Rosella Lensch Mehlberth, both deceased. He married Betty Bland Mehlberth on September 29, 1950 at Central Presbyterian Church in Dayton and she survives.
Other survivors include, two sons, Martin Mehlberth of Fargo, ND, Jeff Mehlberth of Centerville, OH.; two daughters, Janet Lovell of Dayton, Ohio; Pam Manor of Ft. Wayne; one sister, Ruth Ellen McKee of Phoenix, AZ.; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Mr. Mehlberth was a builder and developer in Dayton, Cincinnati and Batesville areas before retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Hillcrest Country Club and the Dayton Home Builders Association.
Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, July 19, 2 p.m. fast time, at the Weigel Funeral Home, Batesville. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.

Viola R. Schene
Viola R. Schene, 80, of Batesville, died Saturday, July 16, 2005 at University Hospital in Cincinnati. She was born September 21, 1925 in Batesville, the daughter of Patsy Sidell and Myrtie Martin Sidell, both deceased. She married Gilbert Schene on June 24, 1977 and he preceded her in death on October 18, 1988.
Survivors include one sister, Joy Youngman of Osgood and two brothers, Charles Sidell of Batesville and Richard Sidell of Pocatello, ID. Two brothers preceded her in death, Harry and Melvin Sidell.
Mrs. Schene was a member of the Batesville United Methodist Church. She was a bookkeeper at the Romweber Company for 15 years.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 19, 4-7 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home, Batesville. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 20, 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Charles Flory officiating. Burial will be in the St. Louis Cemetery, Batesville.

Brooke Michelle Taylor
Brooke Michelle Taylor, 10, of Canaan, died Friday, July 8, 2005 at her residence. She was born June 29, 1995 in Madison, the daughter of Christopher C. Taylor and Angela (Brown) Taylor and they survive.
Other survivors include two sisters, Kylie Elliott Taylor and Ashley Gail Taylor, both at home; one brother, Sean Christopher Taylor at home; paternal grandparents, Garry & Mary Anne Gilles Taylor of Canaan; maternal grandmother, Donna Brown of North Vernon; paternal great grandmother, Erma Land of Madison; maternal great grandmother, Betty Elkins of North Vernon; aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Chester Brown who died on December 23, 2003; maternal great grandfather, Don Elkins and paternal great grandparents, Charles Gilles, Charles and Mary Taylor.
Brooke was a fifth grader at Madison Consolidated Schools. She was a member of the Cross Plains United Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, July 12, 1 p.m. at the Cross Plains Church of Christ with Brother Logan Fugate officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery, Cross Plains. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 12, from 11 am until the time of services at the Cross Plains Church of Christ.

Daniel Lee Lohrum
Daniel Lee Lohrum of Cross Plains, died Thursday, July 7, 2005 at the Manderley Health Care Center, Osgood. He was born July 9, 1953 in Milan, the son of Victor Gloyd and Bernadette Marie Schmidt Lohrum.
Survivors include his father, Victor Gloyd Lohrum of Elrod; one sister, Vincine Felix of Versailles; one niece, Dana Brook of Osgood and one great nephew. His mother, Bernadette Lohrum preceded him in death on November 15, 2004.
Mr. Lohrum worked at Ohio Rod in Versailles for approximately 20 years. He was a member of the Cross Plains Church of Christ. He worked at LHM (Logan Miller Harrison) in Bright 11 1/2 years ending in 2003.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 11, 10 a.m. at Neal's Funeral Home, Osgood. Burial was in the Washington Cemetery, Elrod.
Memorials may be made to the Washington Cemetery Association in care of the funeral home.

Dennis E. Nead
Dennis E. Nead, 78, of Fort Myers, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2005. He was born December 21, 1926 in Osgood, the son of Stanley H. and Mary J. Porsch Nead.
Mr. Nead served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and was present at the Neuremberg Trials. He was a 1945 graduate of Osgood High School and graduated from the Indiana College of Mortuary Science in 1966, where he was a member of Pi Sigma Eta Kappa Chapter. He was the retired owner of Nead & Clark Funeral Home in Osgood, now known as Neal's Funeral Home and Nead & Clark Funeral Home in Aurora, now known as Filter Funeral Home.
Mr. Nead was a member of William A. Gilland Post 267 in Osgood.
One sister, Peggy Fallis preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Phyllis M. Grieve Nead whom he married on November 28, 1953, one daughter, Denise Ann (Robert) Clark of Fort Myers; two granddaughters, April Mercado and Heidi Strange; three great grandchildren and one nephew.
Funeral services were held on Monday, July 11, 2005 at 12 noon in the Chapel of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Pastor James H. Rockey and Chaplain Brian Bluett officiating.
Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or Hope Hospice in care of the funeral home.

Malkie Gibson
Malkie Gibson, 83, of Milan, died Friday, July 8, 2005 at Indianapolis Heart Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born April 17, 1922 in Hazard, KY., the daughter of Jason and Famy (Combs) Combs. She married Burley Gibson in November 1941 and he survives.
Other survivors include, four daughters, Joyce (Richard) Smith of Westport, Patty (Marvin) Ludeker of Milan, Jean (Scott) Prather of Versailles, Joan (John) Kuhlman of Batesville; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Two brothers, Carley and Chatmam Combs and two sisters, Effie Chaffin and Esta Grigsby preceded her in death.
Mrs. Gibson was a homemaker and drove a school bus for the Milan Community Schools for 12 years. She was a member of the Milan Electa Chapter Order of the Eastern Star having served as past Worthy Matron.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 11, 10 a.m. at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan with Rev. Harris Long officiating. Eastern Star services were held on Sunday, at the funeral home. Burial was in the Craven Cemetery, Milan. Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Foundation or the Milan Fire Department.

Olive L. Welch
Olive L. Welch, 89, of Brownstown, formerly of Madison and Osgood, died Friday, July 8, 2005 at Bedford Regional Medical Center, Bedford, Indiana. She was born October 2, 1915 in Madison the daughter of George Washburn and Nora Overton, both deceased. She married Robert L. Welch and he preceded her in death on July 13, 1974.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Caroll S. Garriott of Bedford, Gina L. Jones of New Whiteland, Herbert L. Popp of New Whiteland; six great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
One daughter, Barbara Popp Roark preceded her in death on November 26, 2002 and four sisters and three brothers also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Welch retired from the former US Shoe Corporation in Osgood. She was a member of the Nazarene Church, Brownstown.
Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, July 12, 11 a.m. at the Vail-Holt Funeral Home, Madison. Burial will be in Fairmount.

Roger Lee Groves, Jr.
Roger Lee Groves, Jr., 67 of Versailles, passed away. He was born July 5, 1938 at Osgood, the son of Roger Lee and Mary Glen Berry Groves Sr.
Survivors include one son, Roger Groves of Versailles; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and one sister, Katherine Owens of Osgood. Two sons, Timothy Lee and Christopher Allen Groves, one brother, James Edward Groves and three sisters, Lillian Black, Wilma Ake and Dolly Owens preceded him in death.
Mr. Rogers worked at NTN-BCA of Greensburg for approximately 25 years.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, July 12 from 10-11 a.m. with funeral services to begin at 11:30 a.m. at Neal's Funeral Home, Osgood. Burial will be in the Greendale Cemetery, Osgood.
Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association or the donor's choice.
Neal's Funeral Home, Osgood is in charge of handling the arrangements.

Violet Anne Richardson
Violet Anne (Polly) Richardson of Avon Park, Florida, born and raised in Versailles, formerly of Cincinnati, Ohio. Beloved wife of Jack M. Richardson of Avon Park, Florida; dear mother of Jackie Rugh Wineland (Jack) of Cincinnati; Alice Rugh Zander (Bruce) of Cincinnati; Mel Asher (Kathy) of Pomona Park, FL.; dear sister of Kathy Williamson (Marshall) of Warsaw, KY., Victor Radican (Sheila) of Roseville, CA.; sister-in-law of John Kennedy of Sarasota, FL.
Survived by six grandchildren, John Alexander, Rick Alexander, Russell England (Tlita), Kelly Barnes, Jessica Asher and Cassandra Asher and several great grandchildren. Dear aunt of many nieces and nephews and cousins.
The service and internment will take place at the Tanglewood Baptist Church and Cemetery in Versailles on Tuesday, July 16, 10 a.m. for family and friends.
Remembrances may be made to either the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.

Nancy Joan Jackson
Nancy Joan Stephan Jackson, 40, of Canaan, died Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at the Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. She was born September 2, 1964 in Madison, the daughter of Glenroy E. Stephan and Alice (Geyman) Morris Juengel. She married Robby D. Jackson on March 19, 1982 and he survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Kelly Jackson and her fiancÈe Tim Caudle of Hanover, Christy Jackson of Canaan; one son, A.J. Jackson of Canaan; mother and stepfather, Alice (Geyman) Morris and Don Juengel of Indianapolis; eight sisters, Mary Jacob of Indianapolis, Aggie Hunter of Bedford, Kentucky, Berny Napier of Dupont, Gert Hendricks of Troy, Ohio, Ginny Yount of Madison, Theressa Herring of Canaan, Bert Bromley of Troy, Illinios, Patty Whitham of Canaan; seven brothers, Dave Stephan of Madison, Loy, Dan, Jim, John Stephan, all of Canaan, George Stephan of Madison, Billy Morris of North Vernon. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews; mother-in-law, Marilyn Jackson of Canaan; stepmother-in-law, Neila Jackson Barron of Madison; several aunts, uncles and other relatives.
Her father Glenroy Stephan preceded her in death on February 9, 1992; two stepfathers, Virgil Morris and Bobby Morris; one brother, Donald Troy Morris; father-in-law, Max E. Jackson; maternal grandparents, Allie and Agnes Geyman; paternal grandparents, Glen and Juanita McLaughlin Stephan and one nephew, Danny Joe Stephan also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Jackson was a 1984 of Madison Consolidated High School. She worked for her brother, George, at Big Oaks Sporting Clays at the former Jefferson Proving Ground. She was a member of the Liberty Christian Church.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 2, at Morgan-Webster-Nay Funeral Home, Madison with Pastor Dave Noffsinger officiating. Burial was in the Hebron Cemetery, Madison.
The family requests memorials be made to Mental Health through the funeral home.

Robert Russell Martin
Robert Russell Martin, 88, of Vevay, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2005, at the Swiss Villa Living Center, Vevay. He was born June 19, 1917 in Milton Township, Jefferson County, the son of William and Josephine (Spencer) Martin. He married Ona (Brown) Martin on September 27, 1947 and she preceded him in death on January 20, 1963.
Survivors include one son, Robert Wayne "Bobby" Martin and wife Donna of Vevay; stepdaughter, Janet Smith of Reading, PA.; two grandchildren; four step grandchildren and several step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his companion Aileen Lock on June 15, 2003; two brothers, William "Abe" and Roland Martin and two sisters, Accia Griffin and Ruth Jennings.
Mr. Martin was inducted into the United States Army on April 13, 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky, rising to the rank of Corporal of the 560th Army Air Force Base Unit. He served during WWII in the Aleutian Islands and the Air Offensive in Japan. He received the Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon and the Victory Medal. He was discharged on December 4, 1945. Mr. Martin retired in 1979 from the maintenance department at the Randall Textron, Inc., in Vevay. He had owned and operated the Martin's Heating and Plumbing in Vevay. He has also worked for several years at the Charlestown Ammunition Plant.
He was a 1936 graduate of Central High School. He was a member of the Madison Eagle's Lodge and the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Canaan.
Funeral were held Saturday, July 2, 11 a.m. at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, Vevay with Rev. Howard Wade officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Canaan with full military rites conducted by the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and the Vevay Post #5396.
Memorials may be made to the Vevay Relief Fund.
