Meal prices given at South Ripley mtg.

At the regular meeting of the South Ripley Community
School Corporation Board of School Trustees held July 18, cafeteria
meal prices were approved. For the 2005-2006 school year, student
breakfast price at both the elementary and high schools will
be $1.00. Lunch at the elementary school for students will
be $1.50 and $1.75 at the high school. Adult lunches at both
schools will be $2.25.
Superintendent Ted Ahaus sought approval to establish a Food
Service Clerical position for the 2005-2006 school year. He
noted this is a "created job classification but not an
additional position in the cafeteria." Current staff will
be responsible for this position with the pay rate being $11.20
for entry level and $12.50 for experience level. The position
will be posted in July and filled in August. The motion carried
unanimously.
Other personnel items included the transfer of Natalie Gilpin
from high school aide to bookstore clerk, effective July 19.
Thom Conover was approved as temporary summer employee for
elementary computer maintenance. He will be paid with Universal
Services Fund monies.
Sam Durham was approved as varsity boys cross country coach
and Tom Gray as varsity girls soccer coach for the 2005-2006
school year.
Rae Jean Auterson was retained as choral instructor/assistant
music director for the 2005-2006 school year. The resignation
of Kindra Moorman as elementary aide was accepted and was effective
July 18.
In other business:
· Superintendent Ahaus recommended the approval of
a resolution to give authorization to the Superintendent of
Schools to attend budget hearings and make the appropriate
changes to lines one and two of the submitted 2006 state budget.
This met with unanimous approval.
· Business Manager Lana Miller told board members that
a tax draw was received on June 30, for $889,174.
· The superintendent informed board members that he
was reviewing options for funding pension obligation, shared
book store hours and a handout that he had received at a seminar
regarding property taxes, and told members that copies of the
Indiana Farm Bureau Scholastic Reports were available for review.
Assistant Superintendent Dennis Stockdale noted
that the Title 1 grant was approved. He invited board members
to visit the courtyard at the high school and see the progress
made
by Kelly Bolt in landscaping for her senior project.
All school board members were present: Chris Bradford, Robert
Garcia, Keith Mathews, Randy McIntosh, Jim Miller, Ralph Miller,
and Jim Samples.
