Sewer bills, computer system discussed at Holton
mtg.

At the regular meeting of the Holton Town Council held September
13, it was noted that judgments have been filed against those
owing outstanding sewer bills. Some of the money has been received
and the town will pursue filing on delinquent bills. "This
is not the end," noted President Robert Furst, who said
anyone with an outstanding balance over 90 days will be sent
to small claims court.
Sewer bills can be paid at the sewer office on Versailles
Street, put in the drop box, mailed, or paid at the Holton
Branch of the Napoleon State Bank on US 50.
An upgraded computer system was discussed with council members
waiting on news about a possible grant to make it a possibility. "The
office really needs to be upgraded," noted Deputy Clerk
Treasurer Peggy Furst. She further added that the job of Clerk
Treasurer is more full time than part time. With the antiquated
system the town now uses, it makes the paperwork load more
than it should be. Members agreed to have Furst continue in
her capacity until the new system is installed and then take
a second look at the possibility of having a part time person
to help the Clerk Treasurer.
