Eagles aggressively attack Indians

Gary Franklin - Sports Writer

The Milan Indians soccer field was to be the site Wednesday evening, September 14 of a modern day type - sports massacre. As Coach Mark Jones and his Jac-Cen-Del Varsity Co-ed Soccer Team came calling for battle. It seemed they were intent on taking no prisoners. JCD would press their competitors to a shut out victory at a score of 10-0 when the final second ticked off the score board clock to end the game.

Defending the Indian goal to begin the game was senior Kiley MacVey, and her work was cut out for her as time progressed. Later in the contest another senior, Megan Lade would take a stab at warding off the Eagle driving aggressors, with similar results. The final score shown does not do justice for the amount of hard work and effort these two ladies exerted trying to defend their goal from the Eagles.

Watching the game from behind the Indian goalies reminded me of a swarm of angry bees after someone bothers their nest. A sting and before one could hardly catch their breath, they were there again ready to strike for another blow.

The aggressive Eagles team dissected the Indian defenders as a surgeon working on his patient.

Taking nothing from them, the Milan troop worked diligently, but as sometimes happens with sport contests- it was the Eagles day to be ON!
