Napoleon board has October board meeting

At the October meeting of the Napoleon Town Board,
John "Pink" Peetz appeared regarding an alleyway
and a fence owned by Ron and Patty Weber. The fence has been
destroyed by a vehicle. The town had the alleyway surveyed
and found about three feet of what the Weber's claim as their
property and where the fence was located is actually in the
town's right of way. The town board will check with Attorney
Larry Eaton to see how best to resolve the matter. The alleyway
is located off Versailles Street and runs to Madison Street.
Derick Wiggins representing Midwestern Engineers Inc. was
present. His firm will be doing the Storm Water Drainage Study
as soon as all of the proper papers have been signed with the
Indiana Office of Rural Affairs. The town received a Community
Development Block Grant for $30,000. Wiggins said the first
step is doing an aerial map and they will wait until all the
leaves are off the trees to do that. The study will determine
the best options for addressing the town's storm drainage needs.
The town adopted an ordinance to increase the gas rates by
30 percent. This follows a raise in rates from the Osgood Gas
Utility.
The town has received the Operation and Maintenance Plan for
Natural Gas Operators, Emergency Plan, Handbook for Pipeline
Engineers and Operator Qualification Plan from UTI and will
now need to personalize the plans for Napoleon.
Trick or Treat was set for Monday, October 31 from 5:00 p.m.
until 7:00 p.m. A Halloween Party will be held at the Napoleon
Senior Center at 7:00 p.m.
All three town board members Tim Brancamp, Bill VanKirk and
Gerry Linarducci were present. Clerk Treasurer Karen Rohlfing
was also present to advise the board. The next regular meeting
of the Napoleon Town Board is scheduled for November 9 at 7:00
p.m. at the Napoleon Senior Center.
