Jac-Cen-Del Elementary School Principal Mike Stephens reported
to the board the school year had started out well. Conferences
were well attended by parents. The first six weeks' attendance
was a little more than 97%. School Lunch Week went well with
about 670 guests served.
The changes in the music department are going well with the
sharing of teachers Unkelsbay and Sandy Corfman. The sharing
of the elementary school library with the Osgood Public Library
is also going well. Sharing of the libraries will end sometime
in January.
Mandates by the state are in place and working well: Moments
of Silence every day, displaying of the American flag in every
classroom, and the repeating of the pledge to the flag every
morning. The American Legion hosted the burning of the old
American flags on October 14.

reported on the progress of the middle school concept with
team teaching for the 5th and 6th grades. The students have
45-minute sessions in the morning and 30-minute sessions in
the afternoon. The new program is going well with the teachers
and students enjoying the new concept.
Justin Eaton and Kyle Horan were recognized for
advancing to the Regional in Cross Country.
Attorney Tim Day reported he had heard from Siemens on the
Energy Savings. He said Siemens is working on an amendment
to the Energy Savings Contract and it should be received within
the next two weeks.
Supplemental contracts were approved for homebound instruction,
separate from the regular contracted work day. The supplemental
contracts will be for Bonnie Wall, Joe Haley and Sue Bunselmeier
to cover students who are separated from the classroom for
health or discipline reasons. Compensations will be as per
the Master Contract.
The board approved mileage reimbursement of 48.5 cents per
mile effective November 1, 2005.
