Best Metal Finishing was awarded a 10-year Personal
Property Tax Abatement at the Osgood Town Board's November
15 meeting. They are creating a new plating line and will be
installing some new equipment. With the new equipment, they
will increase two new employees per shift. The abatement is
for up to $200,000.
In other business: East Street in Osgood and the alley from
Harley and Ruth White's property to the end of Jac-Cen-Del's
property will be vacated.
All the lining work has been completed on the Sewer Inflow
and Infiltration Project according to Waste Water Superintendent
Tony Wood. The money that was set aside for point repairs will
be released back to the project which will allow some additional
lining and/or chimney seals.
Superintendent Steve Wilhoit said leaves are being picked
up, but at the present time the transmission is out of the
leaf truck. Once that is repaired, they will be picking up
leaves again. An Auto Correcting Meter will be purchased and
installed at the station north of Napoleon. This will check
gas usages against what Texas Eastern is billing the town.
The Indiana Office of Rural Affairs has turned down the town's
application for the Water Project for State Road 350. The town
will resubmit the grant in January of 2006.
Wayne Borchelt donated a hand made piece of furniture to the
town hall. Council sent a letter of appreciation. Council
signed the Ripley County Economic Development 2006 Inter-Local
Agreement which had been previously tabled. This agreement
requests the Town of Osgood pay Ripley County Economic Development
12 percent of the 2006 EDIT funds.
All three town board members were present: Jeff Volz, Paul
Struckman and Linda Krinop. Attorney Mary Ann Gay and Clerk-Treasurer
Tammy Wilhoit were
present to advise the board. The next meeting of the Osgood
Town Board will be held on December 20 at 7:00 p.m. at the
Osgood Town Hall.
