Police investigate robbery of Osgood pharmacy
Crime Stoppers offers $1,000 reward

A $1,000 cash reward has been offered from Crime
Stoppers for information leading to the arrest of the suspect(s)
responsible for the robbery at Triplett's Drug Store in Osgood
last Thursday.
Crime Stoppers is based out of Greater Cincinnati - Northern
Kentucky and has grown since its inception in 1981. The group
has paid out over a million dollars in rewards and is coming
on board with the Osgood Police and Ripley County Sheriff's
Department to help catch the person who held up the pharmacy
at gunpoint, making off with an undisclosed amount of OxyContin.
The cash award is being offered by Greater Cincinnati Crime
Stoppers and is donated by Purdue Pharma L.P. a pharmaceutical
company that distributes OxyContin (oxycodone HCI controlled-release)
tablets.
According to information from Chuck Kreimer at Crime Stoppers,
individuals are guaranteed anonymity when they provide information
about a crime such as this. "Crime Stoppers provides a
means of communication for members of the public without having
to reveal their identity to provide law enforcement agencies
with information on crimes or suspects."
"It's important to know all information Crime Stoppers
receives is kept completely confidential. Callers never have
to give their names or appear in court. The Crime Stoppers
tip line does not use any tape recording or called ID devices,
noted Osgood Town Marshal Rodney Stepleton.
Crime Stoppers provides a partnership between the community,
media and law enforcement.
The Ripley County Sheriff's Department has released information
on the description of the suspect, according to the pharmacist
who was robbed. The robber was a white male 5'10" -11" with
a husky build, brown facial hair, wearing a gray hooded sweat
shirt and a gray toboggan. He was
wearing brown square sunglasses and a leopard scarf at the
time of the robbery.
