On Warpath Drive at the Milan High School
gym, following a day of wrestling, with the
mats rolled up and the gym once again ready
for basketball competition, a game ensued between
the South Ripley Lady Raiders and the Milan
Lady Indians which ended in a Lady Raider victory
at 60-48.
The Lady Raiders were able to control the
opening tip but failed to score. Sophomore
Lady Indian, Kady Alloway's steal and turn
over led to foul shots awarded to Lady Raider
junior, Ciara McGuire. McGuire made both for
a lead at 2-0. McGuire followed with a driving
FG, and was fouled driving her to the floor.
The basket counted but McGuire was unable to
immediately continue. Josie Franklin entered
the game and went to the FT line for the extra
attempt. Following the missed effort, the score
remained 4-0, Lady Raiders, at 6:22.
Senior Megan Lade dropped a pair of FT's in
for the Lady Indians and senior Josie Franklin
of the Lady Raiders countered with a FG for
a score of 6-2. Lady Indian junior Lacee Alloway
put her first points on the score board with
a FG and Lade added with a pair of FT's to
tie the game at 6.
Lady Raider Kristen Huss sank her first 3
point attempt for 9-6, followed by another
pair of Lady Indian Lade FT's ending the first
quarter SR 9 to Milan 8.

books for a 13-9 Raider lead.
Lady Raider McGuire added 2/4 FT's, Lady Indian

Lady Raider senior Beth Thieman drained her
first 3 for the game, and Lady Raider McGuire
added a FG to her tally enticing the Milan
bench to call time-out at 20-11.
Lady Indian freshman Kelly Stutler put her
first points on the board with a pair of FT's,
but Lady Raider Thieman countered with a pair.
In the balance of the quarters scoring, Lady
Raider Thieman added a 3 and Lady Indian K.

by a FG from Lady Raider Huss, followed by
her teammate Thieman drilling another long

the Tribe before McGuire and Thieman each added
FG's for the Lady Raiders and Thieman put in
1/2 FT attempts, taking the score to 35-18. Lady Raider Huss scored a 3 and Lady Indian
sophomore Kaity Barton scored her first FG.
Lady Raider Thieman put in a FG, and Lady Indian
K. Alloway answered with a 3 pointer, following
it with 2/2 FT shooting. A Lady Raider Huss
FG with 6 seconds left in the quarter was followed
by teammate Thieman's' steal and FG with 1.5
seconds remaining to take the score to 43-25
going into the fourth quarter.
The fourth opened with a Lady Raider junior
Ashley Thomas FG, countered by a Lady Indian
Lade FG. McGuire added to the Lady Raider lead
with a FG, and the Milan coach called time-out.
Following the time-out, Lady Indian Lade scored
a FG, but again it was answered by Lady Raider
Thieman. A Thieman steal and FG led to another
Lady Raider McGuire FG.
Lady Indian K. Alloway drained a 3 that was
followed by Lady Raider's Lemon's 1/2 FT shooting
and a Thomas FG taking the score to 56-33.
After Lady Indian K. Alloway made 1/2 FT attempts,
with 3:50 left in the fourth quarter, South
