Trials for Reeves, Schuerman
delayed
An indictment that dates back
to August of 2000, has yet another delay. Gregory Reeves,
whose trial for his
part in an alleged criminal case involving land dealings has
been postponed from the January 31, 2006 date to October 10.
John Schuerman, who was also named, has a date of November
14. Both men have had several trial postponements since their
initial indictment by a Ripley County Grand Jury.
Reeves, who was a former Batesville developer, and Schuerman,
a Batesville attorney, are set to face jury trials in Jefferson
County Circuit Court before Judge Ted Todd. The case was venued
from Ripley County.
Movie marathon set at Tyson Library
Tyson Library's TNTeens group is presenting a Jim Carrey movie
marathon at the library on Saturday, February 18. Starting
at 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. three Jim Carrey movies will
be shown - The Mask, The Truman Show, and Ace Ventura Pet Detective.
Admission to the movies is free.
As a fundraiser for the teen group, refreshments will be for
sale. Seating is limited. The free tickets are available at
the library while they last.

Winter Bluegrass, Gospel Round-up concert set
There will be three bands performing at the Winter Bluegrass/Gospel
Round-up event set for February 18, at the Holton Community
Building (Versailles Street across the tracks from the Post
Office).
The bands are: Barn Stormin' Bluegrass, Heart Strings, and
Hoosier Hills Bluegrass.
You are invited to a night of free entertainment from 6:30
to 9:30 p.m. Refreshments will be available. For more information

Red Cross Disaster Preparedness Training set
Training for disasters through the local chapter of the Red
Cross will be offered at the Holton Community Building, February
16, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
