Auction proceeds to help with upgrades at fairground
Wanda English Burnett - Editor
Proceeds from a consignment auction/garage sale will be going
to spruce up the fairgrounds, according to Bryan Franklin,
president of the 4-H Corporation Board.
Items for the consignment auction, which is set for March
25 at 10:30 a.m. are now being accepted. Franklin noted that
items less than $250 will pay 8%; above $250 will pay 6%, with
the buy back fee being $25.00. If you want any large items
listed in the sale bill, you will need to call the extension
office by March 6, at 689-6511. The sale will be advertised
in Farm World and local newspapers.
Items can be brought to the fairgrounds at Osgood on Saturday,
March 11, and March 18, from 8:00 a.m until noon. There will
people there to help unload large items. Also, items for sale
can be brought to the fairgrounds Monday through Friday, from
8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. For special arrangements, call the
fairground office at 689-6511.
Garage sale items can also be brought to the fairgrounds.
The garage sale will be held Friday, March 24, from 9:00 a.m.
until 5:00 p.m. These items are for donation only. For information
about the garage sale, contact Lowell Somers at 812-933-0246.
According to Franklin, the proceeds from these sales will
be put to good use - to install concrete in the poultry and
sheep/goat buildings and to try to relight the show arena.
Livestock 4-H members are encouraged to bring items for the
consignment auction and/or garage sale.
