According to a spokesperson for the Franklin County Prosecutor's Office, formal charges of Murder and Criminal Reckless with a Deadly Weapon were filed last week against William J. Wilson a.k.a. Billy Boyer of Metamora.

The charges followed a shooting incident that Indiana State Police from the Connersville Post are still investigating.

According to information from Detective Tim Wuestefeld, the incident occurred at approximately 2:35 p.m. last Wednesday, March 1. The Franklin County Sheriff's Department received a 911 call that a shooting had just occurred at 7261 Weber Road, Metamora. When officers from both the Franklin County Sheriff's Department and Indiana State Police arrived at the scene, they found one person dead. Later that person was identified as Bobby Boyer.

A citizen reported to the Osgood Journal that the deceased was from the Osgood area. They also believed the two men were brothers. Officers from the ISP couldn't confirm either statement. "They could possibly be related," one officer noted, but said they really don't have that information at the present time.

A preliminary press release noted that Boyer was shot once in the chest with a rifle.
