South Ripley Raiders ball sport scores to date

Lady Raider Varsity Softball
The South Ripley Girl's Varsity Softball team traveled to Jennings County High School to face the Lady Panthers on Monday, April 3, where they were rudely treated to a 11-0 defeat in their season opener.

The Lady Raider's scheduled game for Friday, April 7, against the Lady Cubs of Madison Consolidated was postponed due to storms in the area. The storms resulted in the postponement of the Lady Raiders Saturday, April 8, game against the South Decatur Cougars as well.

On Monday, April 10, the Lady Raider Varsity squad fell by a score of 11-1. Abbey Lemon was the pitcher of record for the Lady Raiders.

The Varsity Lady Raiders are next slated to contest the Jac-Cen-Del Lady Eagles on Wednesday, April 12.

The Lady Raiders JV team's first game slated them against the East Central Lady Trojans on Wednesday, April 5, where they fell 19-0. The following two scheduled games against Madison and South Decatur were postponed due to weather, however, in a game against the Lady Pacers of Switzerland County, on Monday, April 10, the Lady Raiders went to the seventh inning, losing by one, with by the score of 10-9.

The next scheduled game for the Lady Raider JV game is set for Wednesday, April 12, against the Lady Eagles at Jac-Cen-Del.

South Ripley Varsity Baseball
Of the five games scheduled to have been played by the Raider Varsity baseball team, the games set for Monday, April 3 against South Dearborn and Friday, April 7, against the Greensburg Pirates, had to be postponed due to storms in the area.

The double header scheduled for Saturday, April 8, against the Batesville Bulldogs, was played at the Batesville High School field. In the opener of the double header, the Raiders fell to the Bulldogs by a score of 4-3.

In the second game of the double header, Raider Josh Cumberworth was sent to the mound to open the game. The Bulldog bats, warmed up from the first game, quickly and often worked on the Raiders. B.J. Sieverding was sent in as a relief role, but to no avail, as the Bulldogs continued their attack. The final score of the second game of the double header was Bulldogs 10-3 Raiders.
The Monday, April 3, game was postponed to be rescheduled. The Raiders however, opened their season at home with a victory on Tuesday, April 4, over the North Decatur Chargers, playing to a no hit - shut out win by the score of 6-0.

Pitching the opener for the Raiders was Cory Yeomans, Tim Burcham, and Michael Fear.

The South Ripley Raiders are next set to play the Jac-Cen Del Eagles on Wednesday, April 12.

Raider JV Baseball
The Raider JV baseball game scheduled against the Oldenburg Academy Twisters on Monday, April 3, was rained out.

On Wednesday, April 5, the Raiders were victorious over the Jac-Cen-Del Eagles by a score of 8-2. The Raiders game scheduled for Saturday, April 8, against the Greensburg Pirates was postponed due to inclement weather conditions. The Raider JV is next slated to contend with the Madison Cubs on Thursday, April 13.

Milan Indian spring sports update

Milan Girl's Varsity and JV Softball teams traveled to Batesville Saturday, April 8, to contest the previously scheduled game of March 23.

Milan Indian Varsity Softball
On Saturday, April 8,the Lady Indian Varsity squad fell for the first time in their new season, at the hands of the Lady Bulldog Varsity, by the score of 4-2.
In the first two Lady Indian Varsity outings, the Lady Indians pulled off victories. The first during their game played on Monday, April 3, at home against the Oldenburg Academy Twisters, The Lady Indians took the game by a sore of 5-2.

During that opening game, Courtney Crabtree, the Lady Indian pitcher, performed to near perfection, racking up 12 strike outs' while only giving up one walk.

The second outing for the Lady Indians also ended in victory, as they hosted to the Madison Shawe Lady Hilltoppers on Wednesday, April 5. The final score of the game was Milan 11-1 over Shawe, in a four and one-half inning bout, stopped by the 10 run rule.

The game previously scheduled to be played at Park Tudor on Saturday, April 8, was postponed


Lady Indian JV Softball
The Lady Indian JV fell at the hands of the Lady Bulldogs on Saturday, April 8, by a score of Batesville 11- 1 Milan. The game had been previously scheduled for play on March 23, but was postponed due to inclement weather at the time.

The Indian Reserve won by a score of 13-6 over South Dearborn on Monday, April 10. The next scheduled game for the Lady Indian Reserve is at Jac-Cen-Del High School, against the Lady Eagles, Monday, April 17 @ 6:30pm.
Milan Indian Varsity Baseball

Of the five games previously scheduled for the Indian Varsity baseball team to hjave played by this time, three have been postponed due to weather at game time. The scheduled opener at Franklin County High School on Saturday, April 1, the Thursday, April 6 game, set against Greensburg, and the Saturday, April 8 game, that was to be played against South Dearborn.

The two games the Indians have had an opportunity to compete in have ended up in a split of one win and one loss. The Indians opened their season with a win over the Hauser Jets, 4-3, and lost their m ost recent outing on Monday, April 10 to the Lawrenceburg Tigers, 10-3.

The Indians are scheduled for a Wednesday, April 12 game at home against the Switzerland County Pacers, and an away, Friday-Saturday set, April 14 and 15, against Rising Sun and Union County respectfully.
