Contestants come together for Miss Ripley County Queen Tea

Wanda English Burnett - Editor

There were nineteen young ladies who attended the Ripley County Queen’s Tea last week in preparation for the big event, the Ripley County Queen Pageant.

The young women met at the Hopewell Baptist Church, where they received instruction from coordinator for the event, Erin Menchhofer. They received make-up tips and heard from last year’s 2005 Miss Ripley County, Jessica Geisler.

The pageant will be held at the Hopewell Baptist Church July 8 at 6:30 p.m. The public is welcome to attend with an admission cost of $5.00 for adults (17 and over) and children 11 and under are free. All proceeds will benefit the Ripley County Queen Pageant Fund and the Ripley County 4-H Scholarship in Memory of Ray Orman. The church is located at 2319 North County Road 850 West, near Holton.
You are invited to come and watch the young women of Ripley County compete for the title of Miss Ripley County 2006 and support the contestants, honor the sponsors and witness the tribute to last year’s Miss Ripley County.

The winners will be named at the Ripley County 4-H Fair, Sunday, July 23.
