The Versailles State Park will hold a display on July 1 at 10:00 p.m. on the lakefront. Admission to the park is free between 8 and 10 p.m. The park will have donation bins to pay for next year’s show.

The Ripley County Chamber of Commerce will also host their 6th Annual “United We Stand” Night at the Ripley County Fairgrounds on July 3, which will include a fireworks display in the evening. Besides a fireworks display, there will also be crafts, business, and activity booths. There will also be food, ice cream, and music.
The Town of Milan will celebration the July 4th holiday with the following events: On July 3 an Ice Cream Social will be held at the Milan Baptist Church. Then on July 4 the Milan United Methodist Men will have a breakfast - all you can eat - at 7:30 a.m.

The Milan Lions Club will sponsor a fireworks display and parade on July 4. The parade will begin at 11:00. Booths and activities will be held all throughout the day at the Milan Community Park. The Milan Fire Department will have a Hog Roast at the firehouse from 11:00 am. until 3:00 p.m. There will be a softball tournament. Contact Doug or Dora Price for more information at 654-2697. The fireworks will begin at dark and the public can view them best at the park. Bring your lawn chair and enjoy a variety of entertainment. Fireworks will be presented by "Fire in the Sky."
