Several members of the Osgood Sesquicentennial Committee attended the Osgood Town Board meeting requesting certain streets are closed during the events and permission to put up some banners. The board agreed to their requests.

John and Louquetta Spinner were present complaining about the junk in their neighbor’s yard. Board member Linda Krinop questioned Spinner about cleaning up his own yard. The Spinners stated they have complied every time they have received a letter. Krinop asked him about the building in his backyard and asked if he had a permit for it. Spinner stated they did not need one.

There was a picture of his building and Attorney Mary Ann Gay told him it had to be enclosed. Spinner said he would close it in. Krinop said they would look into the issue with his neighbor. More junk letters will be sent out.

Dave O’Mara was the only bidder for bituminous material. O’Mara will patch Railroad Avenue for $17,500; seal coat the town hall and parking lot for $1,400; asphalt paving $68.00 per ton; utility cuts and patching $195 a ton and bituminous surface milling $2.50 per square yard.

The Sewer Inflow and Infiltration project will be modified. Since Sewer Superintendent Tony Wood handled the inspection, there will be around $26,000 left to do some additional sewer lining.

David Mohler, Commonwealth Engineers, said that Mitchell and Stark have redone the patching on Buckeye Street with paving. Johanningman Excavating’s partial completion date for the North Walnut Street Sidewalk project is August 2, with final completion by September 1. Partial pay estimate for Johannigman Excavating was $82,749.49. This brings the N. Walnut Street project to 42% completion.
The water project on State Road 350 has increased in price from the original estimate. The town is going to resubmit to the Indiana Office of Rural Affairs for grant money. The project increased $49,000. The board will attempt to find a way to come up with the increase.

All the residents on Shook Street have signed the annexation papers. They are still waiting on a response from Paul Morris for Fairview Village.

Commonwealth Engineers claims were approved for $3,157.88 Majestic Electric’s claim for the conduit and boxes on N. Walnut Street Lighting project was paid in the amount of $11,455.00. Hazen Storm Water claims were approved: $422.09 Laughery Valley Ag Co-op; $2,663.86 National Waterworks; $4,658.88 Hanson Aggregates; $1,782.75 Johanningman Excavating; $355 Holman Ready Mix; $1,623 Flintstone Haulers; $670.56 New Point Stone and $610 Schmaltz Ready Mix.

All three town board members were present: Jeff Volz, Paul Struckman, and Linda Krinop. Attorney Mary Ann Gay and Clerk-Treasurer Tammy Wilhoit were present to advise the board. The next regular meeting of the Osgood Town Board will be August 15 at 7:00 p.m. at the Osgood Town Hall.
