29, 2006 at Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg. Laws-Carr-Moore

Willard E. "Windy" Wingate, 73, of Moores Hill, died
Monday, August 28, 2006 at Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg.

Carl Ray Adams
Carl Ray Adams, 72, of Ver-sailles, passed away Tuesday, August
22, 2006 at his residence. He was born on June 20, 1934 the
son of Beve Paul and Sallie Jane Powers Adams, both deceased.
He was married to Margaret E. Bratten on February 23, 1956 and
she survives.
Survivors also include sons Bryan of Osgood and Terence of Versailles;
Carla LaFollette of Os-good; granddaughter Stacy and husband
Jeremy Sams of Osgood; great-granddaughter Olivia Sams and brother
Ben of Indianapolis.
He was preceded in death by son Kurt; grandson Dustin LaFollette;
brothers Blue, Jim, Earl, Chet, Joe, Herschel and John; and
sisters Gertha Webb, Flora and Dorothy Adams.
Mr. Adams taught at Southeast-ern Career Center as a career
welder instructor and auto body man. He was a member of the
Ce-dar Creek Church of Osgood.
Visitation is today, Thursday, August 24, 2006 from 5-8:00 p.m.
at the Cedar Creek Church in Os-good. Funeral services will
be held Friday, August 25 at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Mr. Adams
will lie in state at the church from 10-11:00 a.m. Burial will
be at the Dabney Cemetery in Holton.
Neals Funeral Home in Osgood is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
Velma Mary Dieckmann
Velma Mary Dieckmann, 83, of Batesville, died Sunday, August
20, 2006.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 23 at Meyers Funeral
Home in Batesville. Burial was in the St. John (Huntersville)
Cemetery.

Bobbie Lee McConnell
Bobbie Lee McConnell, 75, of Sunman, passed away Monday, August
14, 2006.
Visitation will be held today, Thursday, August 17 from 4-8:00
p.m. at Cook Funeral Home in Sunman. Funeral services will be
held Friday, August 18 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial
will be at Little Memory Cemetery in Sunman.

Dormand Akers
Dormand Akers, 82, of Colum-bus, formerly of Versailles, passed
away Friday, August 4, 2006 at Hospice of South Central Indiana.
He was born October 20, 1923, the son of Howard and Catherine
Licking Akers, both deceased. He married Shirley Brown Akers
on December 11, 1948 and she survives.
Survivors also include son David and wife Karen Akers of Columbus;
daughter Donna Sue and husband Ed Schneider of Co-lumbus; four
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers Lindsay, Cecil, Elvan and
Robert Akers and sisters Valete Eads, Hibernia Baker and Cathryn
Akers.
Mr. Akers was a U.S. Navy vet-eran of WWII. He retired in 1986
from the Jefferson Proving Ground as Proof Director. Mr. Akers
was a life member of the Versailles American Legion #173 and
Past Master and 60-year member of the Versailles Masonic Lodge
#7. He was a member of the Indianapolis Valley of Scottish Rites
for 45 years, Order of the Eastern Star #333 in Versailles,
the Columbus High Twelve Club #337 and the Bartholomew County
Senior Center. He was a member of the Versailles Baptist Church
and attended the First Baptist Church of Columbus.
Masonic services were held Sunday, August 6 during visitation.
Funeral services were Monday, August 7 at the Versailles Baptist
Church with Rev. Jon Carlstrom officiating. Burial was in Cliff
Hill Cemetery in Versailles with graveside military rites conducted
by the Versailles American Legion Post #173.
Memorials may be given to the Cliff Hill Cemetery or to the

Verna Bluebelle
Hull
Verna Bluebelle Hull, 89, of Punta Gorda, FL, formerly of Os-good,
passed away Thursday, August 3, 2006. She was born Feb-ruary
20, 1917 in Locksprings.
Mrs. Hull was a homemaker. She was a member of the Union Flat
Rock Baptist Church in Os-good. She enjoyed the many activities
at the church and had taught Sunday School as well.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Carl J.E. Hull and
daughter Janice Jaen both of Punta Gorda, FL, many nieces and
nephews.
Funeral services are pending later this month in Indiana. Kays-Ponger
Funeral Home in Punta Gorda, FL, is in charge of Florida arrangements.
The family has requested memorial donations to the Union Flat
Rock Baptist Church, RR2, Osgood, Indiana, 47037.

Bob Clark, 61, of Dillsboro, passed away Monday, August 7, 2006.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 11 at 1:00 p.m.
at the Ulrich Filter Funeral Home in Dillsboro.

Charles William
Braley
Charles William Braley, 81, of Indianapolis passed away Tuesday,
August 1, 2006 at Manor Care South in Greenwood. He was born
in the Tanglewood community near Versailles on December 29,
1924 the son of Wilcy and Bernice McMartin Braley. He was married
to Mary Tekulve on September 13, 1947, and she preceded him
in death on April 3, 1991.
Survivors include two daughters, Pamara Semmler and her husband
Stephen of Indianapolis and Sherry Curd and her husband Stephen
of Beech Grove; one son Scott Braley and his wife Sherri of
Atlanta; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two
brothers, Frank Braley of Versailles and Harold Braley of Madison;
one sister Dorothea Jeffries of Madison.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Robert
Braley and his sister Naomi Braley.
Mr. Braley was a 1941 graduate of Versailles High School and
was an Army veteran of WWII where he served as a platoon sergeant
in central Europe receiving two bronze battle stars. He was
retired from GM in Indianapolis where he worked as a supervisor
in tool design. Mr. Braley was a member of the Tanglewood Baptist
Church and attended the Holy Name Catholic Church in Indianapolis.
He was also a member of the Versailles Masonic Lodge, Indianapolis
Valley Scottish Rite, Beech Grove Lions Club, and the Holy Name
Church Mens Club.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 4 at 1:00 p.m.
at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev.
David Shivers of the Hopewell Baptist Church officiating. Burial
will be in the Tanglewood Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday
from 11:00 a.m. until time of services.
Memorials may be given to the Tanglewood Baptist Church in care
of the funeral home.

31, 2006.
