Jac-Cen-Del holds Fall Sports Awards Program

Jac-Cen-Del High School gym was astir with all Eagle fall sports participants from the middle school, in an awards program, beginning at 6PM on Tuesday, October 24. Eagle Athletic Director, Mark Meyer, led the program introducing the coaching staff.

Varsity Girls Golf Coach, Ruth Ann Peetz, gave chevrons to Jessica Luers, Brittany Joseph, Kristen Hicks, and Jaime Lunsford. Most Improved was given to Jaime Lunsford and Jessica Luers. Luers was also named Captain, and Lunsford received the Scholastic Award for a 10.57 GPA. Brittany Joseph received Most Determined. Kristen Hicks was awarded the MVP Award and was recognized as a regional qualifier.

The Lady Eagle Reserve Volleyball Team was coached by Tina Ashley and are the Conference Champions with a 18-6 season record. Team members were Regina Ricke, Chelsea Hooton, Danielle Leighty, Audrey Huffmeyer, Ciara Bonnlander, Chelsea Abplanalp, Danielle Wagner, Rachel Toops, Janine Huff, Jessica Comer, and Tanaha Simon.

Awards were given to Jessica Comer for Most Improved, Chelsea Abplanalp for Most Determined, Audrey Huffmeyer for Mental Attitude, and the Scholastic Award for a 11.3 went to Danielle Wagner.

Varsity Volleyball Coach Michelle Sebastian issued chevrons to players Kaylin Ploeger, Emily Einhaus, Abby Lauber, Natasha Gregory, Carissa Simon, Abby Rohlfing, Talena Huff, Rachel Toops, Holly Huffmeyer, and to Student Managers Elisha Menchhofer and Melissa Horan. Menchhofer, Horan, Huffmeyer and Toops each also received a letter. Certificates were given to Ciara Bonnlander and Danielle Leighty.

The Lady Eagles' season record was 10-20. Most Valuable Player honors were to Emily Einhaus and Abby Rohlfing. Rohlfing also received the Captain Award. Serving Award went to Abby Lauber, Hustle Award to Talena Huff, Most Improved to Holly Huffmeyer, and Scholastic Award to Natasha Gregory with a 11.5 GPA. Einhaus and Rohlfing were named to the All-Conference Team with Rohlfing also being an ORVC Co-Mental Attitude Award winner.

The Varsity Girls Cross Country Team, coached by David Bradshaw, each received chevrons. Team members were Kaitlin Hughes, Jodi Hardy, Kara Harlemert, Kelley Wagner, Valorie Wagner, Amanda Rangel, and Samantha White, with Harlemert, Rangel and White also getting a letter.

The team's season record was 38-42. Sam White was named the team's MVR, was an All-Conference Team member, and a regional qualifier. The Scholastic Award winner with an 11.57 GPA was Valorie Wagner. Most Determined and Captain Awards went to Kaitlin Hughes, with the Most Improved Award going to Kara Harlemert.

Eagle Boys Cross Country was also coached by David Bradshaw. The season record was 43-42. Receiving chevrons were Justin Eaton, Austin Lord, Daniel Harlemert, Brandon Wilhoit, Coty Horn, Blake Sutton, and Devin Shadday, with Harlemert, Wilhoit, Horn, and Shadday getting a letter also. Tyler Powers and Ethan Hess each received certificates.

Justin Eaton was named MVR, Captain Award, and Scholastic Award winner with a 10.57 GPA. He also was named to the All-Conference Team and was a regional qualifier. The Most Determined Award went to Daniel Harlemert and Most Improved Award to Blake Sutton.

Eagle JV Soccer Coach, Loren Stolze, was unable to attend so Varsity Coach Mark Jones made their presentations. Team members were Alissa Stolze, Shane Adams, Renee Meister, Eric Wirth, Josh Forbes, Brent Ertel, Brandon Wilhoit, Michael Luers, Justin Stepleton, and Danny Meister.

Meister was Most Improved, Wilhoit the Most Determined, Adams the Mental Attitude Winner, and Wirth the Scholastic Winner with an 11.13 GPA.

Coach Jones continued with the Varsity Soccer Team. Chevrons were given to Kurt Miller, Leslie Brancamp, Ashley Carpenter, Jeremy Wagner, Eric Horan, Kellen Stolze, Joe Rangel, Brandon Wilhoit, Daniel Leonetti, Andrew Wagner, David Busch, Brock Billman, Zach Simon, Gerald Hardesty, and Josh Forbes. Letters were given to Carpenter and Wilhoit, with certificates to Michael Luers, Danny Meister, Shane Adams and Justin Stepleton.

They were Sectional Champions, 2nd in ORVC, with a 15-4 season record. Academic All-State - Leslie Brancamp, Andrew Wagner, David Busch, and Kellen Stolze. MVP -Daniel Leonetti, Most Improved - Gerald Hardesty, Kellen Stolze -Scholastic with an 11.25 GPA, Captain -Andrew Wagner, and Most Determined -Zach Simon. Kellen Stolze and Andrew Wagner were named to All-Conference Team. Wagner was the ORVC Mental Attitude Winner.
