No one was seriously injured when this propane tanker overturned about 9:00 a.m. Monday morning. The incident occurred when Allen Coy of Versailles was westbound on Fairground Road driving a 2005 Freightliner for Empiregas owned by Titan Propane. The vehicle ran off the roadway and the driver lost control causing the big rig to overturn. According to Deputy Tom Grills of the Ripley County Sheriff's Department, the driver only received minor injuries and no other vehicle was involved in the accident. The tanker was loaded with approximately 2,000 gallons of propane when the accident occurred. Assisting Grills (pictured right) at the scene were members of the Osgood Volunteer Fire Department, Rescue 69, Ripley County Emergency Management, Lt. Lee Mathews of the Ripley County Sheriff's Department and the Indiana State Police, Versailles Post. Grills noted that the tanker came to rest in the field and was not blocking the roadway. However, the road was shut down for a short period of time for fire and rescue personnel and to upright the rig.
