After weeks of searching and making comparisons, the Sunman Town Council decided on Zimmer Tractor’s bid of a Kubota L3400HST with a loader at a cost of $16,200. They offered a $3,500 trade for the old tractor, making the final cost $12,700.

Utility Superintendent Carl Bruns reported that Miller Equipment is offering a charge of $620.44 for the yearly upgrade on the Bobcat. Council approved the cost. Bruns spoke to Steve Ludwig about the condition of his building. Ludwig said he has plans for the building, but does not have the means at this time.

Ruth Riehle asked if all homes in the Sunman Trailer Court were supplied with city services. She was assured they were. The manager of the court asked Riehle to remove more of the tree on her property that was infringing on a home in the court. Riehle stated the tree would be removed when the bean crop was harvested.
In other business:

• Marshal Dan Craig reported that Rodney Barker and David Hess will join the Sunman Police Department as reserves.
• Planning Commission member Roger Lang told the council that all the covenants would remain with the Winners Circle Subdivision regardless of the ownership. The property is being auctioned off.
• A new call center is locating in the former Shazer building. It will start out with eight employees at an average of 30k per year.
• The grant for the sewer line extension submitted to the City of Lawrenceburg was turned down. It will be resubmitted in January.
• Aerial photos were taken of the town of Sunman on October 8.
• The original jail cell will be sandblasted and painted.

All three board members attended the meeting: Wayne Jenner, John Campbell, and Mike Wolffe. Also present to advise the board was Clerk-Treasurer Kris Schneider.
The next regular meeting of the Sunman Town Board will be November 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the Sunman Town Hall.
