Ronald E. Schmidt
Ronald E. Schmidt, 48, of San Antonio, TX, passed away Friday, October 20, 2006. He was born September 21, 1958 at Batesville, the son of Charles and Jewell Schmidt of Milan and they survive.
Survivors also include daughter Stephany Schmidt of Louisville, KY; son Tommy Schmidt of San Antonio, TX; brothers Mike Schmidt of Os-good, Gary Schmidt and Brian Schmidt of Milan; four nieces and five nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 30 at 11:30 a.m. at the St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 4411 Moana Drive, San Antonio, TX 78218. Burial will be at the Holy Cross Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the St. Thomas More Catholic Church.


Sandra S. Walterman
Sandra S. Walterman, 53, of Greensburg, died Monday, October 23, 2006.
Visitation will be held today, Thursday, October 26 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Community Church in Greensburg. Funeral services will immediately follow.

Virginia Liter
Virginia Liter, 89, of Pleasant passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at the Waters of Clifty Falls at Madison. She was born at Gilmore in Wolfe County, Kentucky on October 7, 1917 the daughter of Alford and Martha Napier Wood. She was married to Virgil Nickell on July 10, 1935 and he preceded her in death on September 7, 1971. She married Willard Liter in 1976 and he preceded her in death on March 17, 1996.
Survivors include three sons, Lawrence Nickell, Henry Nickell and his wife Angie, and Clayton Nickell and his wife Mary all of Cross Plains; three daughters, Dorothy Knigga and her husband Bill of Canaan, Lucille Nickell of Pleasant, and Nancy Nickell of Washington, Indiana; 15 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, 18 step great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren; two step-daughters, Rose Fugate and her husband Logan of Pleasant, and Juanita Allen and her husband Troy of Illinois; one brother Everett Wood of Cross Plains; two sisters Nannie Whisman of Naples, Florida and Irene Scudder and her husband Millard of Dillsboro.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, sisters Daisy Tyra, Adah Jane Tyra, Betty Wood, and Leona Whisman, her brothers Alford Wood and James Wood, and her step-son James Liter.
Mrs. Liter was a homemaker and a member of the Bear Creek Baptist Church. She was a long time antique collector and had formerly operated an antique shop in Pleasant. She was also a well-known flower gardener.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 21 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bear Creek Baptist Church in Friendship with Bro. Logan Fugate and Rev. Sherman Hughes officiating. Burial will be in the Methodist Cemetery in Cross Plains. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8:00 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.

Gertrude E. Lee
Gertrude E. Lee, 91, of Ver-sailles passed away Monday, October 16, 2006 at Ross Manor in Dillsboro. She was born at Morningview, Kentucky on August 25, 1915 the daughter of Charles and Catherine Hopper Rohrig.
Survivors include one son Willard (Duke) Elliott and his wife Rosella of Versailles; one daughter Deloris Servizi and her husband Anthony of Cincinnati; ten grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands John Utley, John Elliott and Roscoe Lee; brothers John, Julius, Sylvester, Raymond, Stanley, Charles and Frederick Rohrig; sisters Elizabeth Sauer, Nora Sommer and Rachel Epperson, and her grandson John Elliott.
Mrs. Lee was an attendant at the Madison State Hospital retiring in 1970. She was also a homemaker and a member of the Tanglewood Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 20 at 10:30 a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. David Blazier of the West Fork Baptist Church officiating. Bur-ial will be in the Tanglewood Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8:00 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Tanglewood Cemetery or the activities fund at Ross Manor.

Ralph Calhoun
Ralph Calhoun, 78, of Sunman, died Sunday, October 15, 2006.
Graveside services will be held today, Thursday, October 19 at 10:30 a.m. at the Little Memory Cemetery.

Darla S. Cardinal
Darla S. (Schornick) Cardinal, 66, died Wednesday, Octo-ber 11, 2006. She married Wil-liam Cardinal and he survives.
Other survivors include daughter Jana and husband Doug Bishop; grandchildren Andrew, Matthew and Emily Bishop; sister Carla Kohlmeier and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by son Dana Cardinal.
Mrs. Cardinal was a retired nurse from Bethesda North Hospital.
Visitation will be at Tri-County Baptist Church of West Chester, OH, on Saturday, Oc-tober 14 from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Cravens Cemetery in Milan at 1:30 p.m.

Donald Gigerich, 54, of Greendale died Tuesday, October 10, 2006.

George O. "Omer" Brewer, 89, of Kettering, OH, formerly of Batesville, died Tuesday, October 10, 2006.

Mildred Juanita Baxter
Mildred Juanita Baxter, 74, of Elrod, died Thursday, Sep-tember 21, 2006 at her resi-dence.
She was a graduate of Ver-sailles High School, Class of 1950 and was employed at Campbell Hausfeld and Cum-mins, then retired from G.E. She was also a member of Eastern Star in Versailles.
She is survived by son, Gary Baxter of Carmel; daughter Chiquetta (Amy) of Hamilton, OH; sister Wanda Waldon of Greendale; three granddaugh-ters; one great-grandson and one great-granddaughter.
There will be a pitch-in din-ner, Sunday, October 1 at 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. at her home, 4474 E. CR 300 S, Elrod.
The family requests dona-tions to be made to King’s Daughters’ Hospice Center or charity of donor’s choice.
The family would like to ex-press our great appreciation to her nurse, Lori, physical thera-pist, Rick and close neighbor, Marie for all the love and care given throughout her illness.

Mildred B. Weigel, 94, of Batesville, died Monday, Oc-tober 2, 2006.
Visitation will be Friday, October 6 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home in Batesville. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at the St. Louis Cemetery in Bates-ville.

Eugene H. "Geno" Fullenkamp
Eugene H. "Geno" Fullenkamp, 80, of Batesville died Tuesday, October 3, 2006.
Visitation will be Friday, October 6 from 4-8:00 p.m. A rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services are Saturday, October 7 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Louis Church.

Betty C. Stone
Betty C. Stone, 82, of Peru, died Sunday, October 1, 2006 at Millers-Merry Nursing Home in Peru. She was born at Osgood October 6, 1923, the daughter of Carl and Mamie Hartley Beer, both deceased. She married Russell W. Stone, and he preceded her in death on November 19, 1983.
Survivors include daughters and spouses Saundra and Rick Hines of Indianapolis; Melissa Bishop of Peru and Jacqueline and George Joseph of Ironton, OH; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by sister and brother-in-law Charlotte and Ned Gardner; great-grandson Dominick Sparks; son-in-law Fred Bishop and devoted 4-legged companion Muffy.
Mrs. Stone had worked for the Selective Service Board in Versailles and at J.C. Penney in Peru. She was a member of Delta Theta Tau and Beta Sigma Phi sororities who sponsor a children’s dental clinic through United Way. Mrs. Stone was voted Citizen of the Year for her 37 years of commitment to the dental clinic. She was also a member of the St. Johns Catholic Church in Osgood. Mrs. Stone belonged to the Eagles Lodge, Moose and VFW.
Visitation will be held today, Thursday, October 5 from 5-8:00 p.m. at the Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home in Peru. Funeral services will be Friday, October 6 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Francis I. Kilcline, III officiating. Burial will be at the Cliff Hill Cemetery at Versailles.
Memorials may be made to the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for the dental clinic.

Lester Edward Schmidt
Lester Edward Schmidt, 67, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at St. Luke West Hospital, Florence, KY. He was born in Ripley County October 23, 1938, the son of William and Delma Abplanalp Schmidt, both deceased. He married Bonita Kay Miller on October 1, 1960 and she pre-ceded him in death on March 31, 2006.
Survivors include son Curtis Lee Schmidt of Louisville, KY; daughter Tracy Holmes of Lawrenceburg; brothers Joe of Morgantown and Richard of Moores Hill; sister Linda Freyer of Milan; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brother Bill Schmidt, and sister Lou Miller.
Mr. Schmidt was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a welder for I & M Electric Company in Lawrenceburg. Mr. Schmidt belonged to the St. Maurice Catholic Church in Napoleon. He was a past member of the Knights of Columbus in Aurora.
Visitation will be held Fri-day, October 6 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the St. Maurice Catholic Church in Napoleon with funeral services immediately following. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Aurora Tri Kappa Scholar-ship Fund in memory of Bonita Schmidt.
