According to information from Sgt. Noel Houze Jr. of the Indiana State Police, Versailles Post, two prisoners attempted to escape the Decatur County Jail in Greensburg on Sunday. One was successful - the other was not. Apparently the two managed to get into a common (secured) area unnoticed by the jail officer. When the officer opened a door to an outside area the two were able to run through the doorway. The jailer was able to apprehend one prisoner, but the other one managed to escape.
Michael Jordan, the escapee, is described as a 32-year-old white male with green eyes and brown hair. He is approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs about 195 pounds. He can also be defined by numerous tattoos all over his body including both arms.

Police say Jordan was being held at the Decatur County Jail on charges of Criminal Confinement, Intimidation with a Firearm, and being an Habitual Criminal.

According to Sgt. Houze, Jordan could be accompanied by Wayne Kirkman, a 28-year-old white male with blonde hair and blue eyes. Kirkman is approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 140 pounds. Jordan and Kirkman may be in a white 1996 Isuzu pickup truck with Indiana registration 719890L. Both men have a history of firearms possession and may very well be armed and should be considered dangerous.

Anyone with information concerning Jordan and/or Kirkman, should contact the Decatur County Sheriff’s Department at 812-663-8125 or the Indiana State Police at 1-800-566-6704. You can contact any local police department. Police are asking for help from the public to apprehend Jordan, who they believe is dangerous.
