Firemen respond quickly to house fire in Delaware

Firemen from the Delaware and Milan fire departments responded quickly Wednesday afternoon, November 28, to a structure fire at the home of Gerald and Lois Workman in Delaware. The call came in from the mailman who saw smoke coming from the residence. Here firemen were cutting a hole in the roof of the kitchen area to let the smoke and heat out to keep the fire from spreading. Paramedics, Rescue 69, and Red Cross was on the scene as well as Deputy Bill Dramann of the Ripley County Sheriff's Department. It was not known at press time what the cause of the fire was.. No one was home at the time of the fire and no one was injured. Delaware Fire Chief Ron Bushhorn noted that the origin of the fire was electrical.
