perfect in their first six contests.

to 9-0. Lauber later added a FG, but the Lady Bulldogs answered
with a 3 pointer by Amy Wuestefeld.

The Lady Eagle Reserve advanced their cause to 5-0 as well
for the season, defeating the Lady Bulldogs 25-22.
Lady Eagles vs Lady Jets
As reported by Lady Eagle Coach Scott Smith, the Lady Eagles
advanced their cause to 6-0, but not without a struggle.
The Lady Eagles hosted the Lady Jets of Hauser on Tuesday,
November 21.
The game knotted at 42 led to an Abby Lauber pass inside
to Emily Einhaus with 3.8 seconds remaining in the game.
Einhaus was fouled and went to the line where she made one
of the two attempts to put the Lady Eagles up 43-42. Kristen
Hicks stole the Lady Jets' inbounds pass to seal the deal
for the Lady Eagles' sixth win this season. Smith added,
"It was also Hicks who drained the 3 pointer to regain
the lead for the Lady Eagles when they had fallen behind
41-39 with less than 2:oo to go."
The Lady Jets tied the game at 42 with a free throw make
with under a minute to play, and the Eagles opted to play
for the last shot. "Ploeger and Simon were the step
up ladies in the game," commented Smith. Team depth
is what makes their season very promising. The dagger can
come from so many different sources on any given night.
The Lady Eagle Reserve advanced their cause to 6-0 as well
for the season, defeating the Lady Jets 27-25.
The Lady Eagles next play as host to Waldron, at JCD

Eagle boys fall to Bulldogs at JCD
Gary Franklin, Sports Editor
The weekend of Eagle/Bulldog
basketball continued on Saturday, November 25, at the Eagle's
nest. The Bulldogs pulled off the win 57-47, but those in
attendance found the game to be much closer than the score
would dictate.
Batesville got off to a 17-9 run in the first quarter, but
the Eagles would not fold. They came back with a 17-9 score
through the second quarter of play, to knot the game at
halftime 26-26.
The third period ended with a slight Bulldog lead of four
at 39-35. The fourth, however, sealed the Eagles' fate as
they again were outscored. The Bulldogs added 18 to JCD's
12, leading to a final score of 57-47.
'Games played equal lessons learned'. That's how the Eagles
are looking at this game with the Ripley County Tournament
soon on the agenda. With an opportunity for Brandon Gehl
to be less scrutinized and allowed to play, the outcome
could be quite different. Gehl was the recipient of early
foul trouble in the Eagle/Bulldog clash.
The Eagle Boys' JV fell in a heartbreaker by three, 34-37.
