Marilyn Maschino Braley
Marilyn Maschino Braley, 64, of Madison, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at her residence. She was born in North Vernon on March 20, 1942, the daughter of Chester and Grace Moore Maschino, both deceased. She married Harold D. Braley of Madison on November 16, 1963 and he survives.
Survivors also include son David of Hanover; daughter Joan Morrison and companion Timothy Hill of Indianapolis; sisters Doris Tormochlen and husband Kenneth of Seymour; LaVerne Taskey and husband Jerry of Seymour; Helen Elkins and husband Ray of Paris Crossing; Christine Fordice and husband Mike of Hayden; brothers Alvin "Bud" Maschino and wife Brenda, Joe Maschino and wife Patricia, Ernie Maschino and wife Sarah, and Alan Maschino and wife Cindy all of North Vernon; grandchildren Ryan and Angel Morrison, and Kendra Braley; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her twin sister Carolyn Spicer.
Mrs. Braley graduated from Hayden High School. She was a current member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church and had also attended the former St. Anthony Catholic Church and St. Joseph Catholic Church at Four Corners. Mrs. Braley helped her husband with his sawmill business and was meal site coordinator for Area 12 Council on Aging in Madison.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 25 at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison with Rev. John A. Meyer officiating. Burial was at the Tanglewood Cemetery in Versailles.
Memorials may be given to the Tanglewood Baptist Church.

Dr. Martha Amanda Schroder
Dr. Martha Amanda Schroder, 88, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2006 at Medicare Monticello Health Care in Monticello. She was born at Osgood on March 10, 1918, the daughter of Joseph and Emma Schroder, both deceased. .Survivors include nieces Sandy and husband Kenneth Meyer of Frankfort and Joy Bishop of Covington, KY.
She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
Dr. Schroder received her B.S. from Purdue, M.S. from Miami University and her Doctorate from the University of Arizona. She was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. She taught at Fullerton Junior College, retiring in 1975. Dr. Schroder was a member of the California Retired Teachers Association.
Family interment planned at Finks Crossing Cemetery, Osgood.

Ruth Marie Morrison Tucker
Ruth Marie Tucker, 70, passed away Thursday, Novem-ber 16, 2006 at Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. She was born at Rexville, November 22, 1935, the daughter of Earl and Hazel Demaree Morrison, both deceased.
Survivors include daughters Sharon Pelsor of Madison and Wanda Perry of Hanover; son Robert Shinkle, II, of Madison; sisters Irene Youngblood and Jean Bush Meadows of Madi-son; brothers Don Morrison of Westfork and Larry Morrison of Fort Wayne; seven grandchil-dren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a baby brother, Earl Morrison, Jr.; sister Lois Wooten and granddaughter Taylor Perry.
Mrs. Tucker had worked at King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, and was also in hotel management before retiring. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, doing things for her church, going places with friends, reading, and listening to gospel and bluegrass music.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, November 19 at the First Assembly of God Church in Madison.

Verla Jean Noah, 75, formerly of Milan, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2006.

Grover "Fuzzy" Gilland
Grover "Fuzzy" Gilland, 91 of Milan, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2006 at the Waters of Batesville. He was born December 15, 1914 at Osgood, the son of William and Clydia McNew Gilland, both deceased. He married Marian "Pete" Lachenmann on August 25, 1938 and she preceded him in death on January 9, 2003.
Survivors include sons Dennis of Milan and Rick and wife Rose of Osgood; daughters Patricia and husband Phil Ritchie of Blue Bell, PA and Sandra and husband Paul Kennedy of Evanston, IN; sisters Audrey Hertz and Doris Zapp both of Madison; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by son Terrance; four sisters and one brother.
Mr. Gilland was a US Navy veteran. He was a retired electrician with the General Motors Corporation in Fairfield, OH where he worked for 30 years. He was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church and the Milan VFW Post.
Visitation will be today, Tuesday, November 14 from 6-8:00 p.m. at the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 15 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Charles Catholic Church in Milan with Father Frank Eckstein officiating. Masses contributed by the Milan Fire Department and Milan Rescue 30. Burial, with military rites at graveside by the Milan VFW Post, will be at the New Craven Cemetery, Milan.

Wanda Sue Gress
Wanda Sue Gress, 57, of Versailles, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2006. She was born April 17, 1949 in Letcher County, KY, the daughter of Jefferson Sizemore and Polly Brown Isaacs.
Survivors include fiancée Ron Mills of Guilford; mother Polly and her husband Edward Isaacs; father Jefferson and his wife Ada Sizemore; daughters Rhonda and husband Samuel Cook of Batesville and Kimberly Anger of Versailles; brothers Jefferson Sizemore, Jr. of Moores Hill; Perry and Jesse Sizemore of Madison; Larry Sizemore of West Virginia and Freddy Sizemore of Florida; sisters Teresa Roedl of Aurora and Celila Ashly of Madison; grandchildren Eric Gress, Tanner Everage, Michael and Emily Bryan, and Jeremy, Dylan and Travis Cook.
Mrs. Gress was a homemaker.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, November 12 at the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan with Bro. Irvin Hart officiating. Burial was at the Craven Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Heart Fund or to the Michael and Emily Bryan and Tanner Everage Trust Fund.

Dorothea Ruth Braley Jeffries
Dorothea Ruth Braley Jeffries, 84, of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2006 at the Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison. She was born in the Tanglewood community near Versailles on December 19, 1921 the daughter of Wilcy and Bernice McMartin Braley.
Survivors include two brothers, Frank Braley of Versailles and Harold Braley and wife Marilyn of Madison, along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Charles William Braley and Robert Braley and her sister, Naomi Braley.
Mrs. Jeffries was a 1939 graduate of Versailles High School. She received her bachelor’s degree from Butler University in 1943 and her master’s from Butler in 1947. She taught at School 20 in Indianapolis for 20 years and was principal at School 105 for 23 years retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Tanglewood Baptist Church, Alpha Theta Sorority, and the Versailles Chapter of the Eastern Star.
Funeral services were held Sunday, November 5 at 1 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Becky Pohle of the Tanglewood Baptist Church officiating.
